Yet another quad a7 phone though. Better software support I'm sure but the pricing is not really anything new. Missing the holiday season seems kinda dumb.
This does come with a fm radio... hmmm....
It's a conspiracy!Probably won't be on Verizon and if it is, they'll probably charge $500+ for it still.
Not that I care personally, it's a great value, but still a bit low-end for me. I don't see how much RAM it has, it would have to be 2GB for me to even consider it since that made a world of difference going from the Gnex (1GB) to the Note 2 (2GB). Camera will probably be pretty bad at least if previous Moto phones are any indicator.
Which is amazing for a phone in the US. Seems like every phone that has an FM radio built in overseas, gets it stripped out (or permanently disabled via hardware) for the US variants.

Yes, it will.Would this work on Verizon? No LTE, but I see CDMA...

It has 1 GB of RAM...and no LTE.
Guess they had to make it cheap some how.

Hardware inside is different but yes, it is cheaper than a Moto X.So is the Moto g just a cheaper Moto x?

I have an evo 3d w/ a S3 MSM8660 SoC on Sprint. This would be a pretty decent step up. I'm looking to switch to straight talk or a similar prepaid plan. For the price this looks like a great option. I was looking at the nexus 5 but i doubt i'd use it to it's potential and it's nearly twice the price.
My only concern is the lack of LTE and non-expandable memory. seems like a bummer. any idea if it supports USB OTG? Also, do we know what other devices use the same camera hardware?
Moto G knocks it out of the park with the first review:

Apple could learn from the pioneer of mobile instead of that disaster called iPhone 5c.
I pay about $160 a month for me and my wife (i5) on AT&T.... between the two of us, we use like 200MB a month in data, but we do text alot. Would something like this be optimal and just get on a cheaper plan?
I just think $80 a month per person for a phone is stupid. Have I used the browser and map from time to time? Yes, but outside of facebook and text that's it. Seems it would be better for me to just buy these phones and get on a cheap walmart plan?
I have one here. It's pretty damn impressive for a phone $180 out of pocket. Naturally I also went for an official snap cover that made the color more like a Nokia or an iPhone 5c...anyone pick one of these up yet?
Should I get that or a slightly used Nexus 4?
I have been wondering the EXACT same thing. Probably the Moto G for 2 reasons. It's new, and has a more powerful GPU and similar if not more powerful CPU.
Great question. Moto G and Nexus 4 are nearly identical. Personally, I'd lean towards the Moto G for the following reasons:
- you're getting new with warranty and the peace of mind in regards to hygiene
- longer OS update support vs Nexus which is usually supported for 2 years and the Nexus 4 is already 1 year old
- better battery life
- user replaceable battery
- case customization and even if it's not your thing it's nice to be able to swap the back cover when it's worn
- better ergonomics since it's easier to cup in hand with curved back
- made by the pioneer of the mobile phone
- Motorola is genuine about bringing jobs back to the US (I love and own South Korean and Japenese gadgets but Texas deserves love too)
- global push means better dev support
i thought the moto g battery wasn't removable?
