So, I'm stuck with my trusty ole GMA 4500 for gaming company right now.

What the heck can I play with this durned thing? I know it can probably take Quake or UT on, but are there any of those gems with amazing storytelling and ingenious gameplay that have been put in the dustbin for their age out there for me to have a go at? Games that'll run at a decent framerate and mostly high settings that is. It'll be like going back to the best of the 90s or early 2000s I guess.

Freelancer, if you want a space shooter RPG. The game could run on my old Radeon 8500 quite smoothly with max settings. You can also play online on persistent servers with their own rules/roleplay.

If you want to play online, download this script (because MS shut down their master server). The community isn't going to let such a fun game die :)

IF you have skipping video or sound, download and install the Hardware Update or Quick Fix on this page:

If you haven't played Icewind Dale(I or II), Baldur's Gate(I, II, expansion, mods, etc.), Planescape, or the original Fallout games I'd pick those up. Seems like it'd be less frustrating than playing an fps if you're on the move, and they'll keep you occupied.

Do you think Age of Empires II would run on it? That's entertaining.

Not much of a storyline but Total Annihilation is STILL fun as hell to play. It also uses DirectDraw so you don't have to worry about what kind of video card you have.

I thought of another one!! Psychonauts should work too, as it worked well on my 8400m GS.

Counter Strike 1.6, for some very odd reason you can play Source but only on gungame maps. It's very strange because it runs very smooth but only on gungame maps.

Well, I learned to love Halo 2 PC.

Also, is the GMA 4500 the HD version, or vanilla?

Fallout 1 and 2. Hell yeah. Even Tactics isn't that bad.

Tons easier with a mouse though.

Thanks guys, looks like there's more than enough here to keep my occupied for a while.

Jeremy, it's a vanilla 4500 btw, which isn't supposed to be that much worse, but is bad already. I don't think I'll be playing Halo 2. :D Halo CE maybe.

NOLF (No One Lives Forever) should run pretty well on that setup.

HALO 2 is not really any more graphically demanding than HALO 1. It is xbox 1 tech after all.

American McGee's Alice, Call of Duty, Clive Barker's Undying, Diablo 2, or MechWarrior 4 should run well on it. All fantastic games from yesteryear. :)

I've been playing Galactic Civilizations II and Majesty (Gold) on my laptop recently among others that were already mentioned. Got both off Impulse.

Giants: Citizen Kabuto should be playable. You might even be able to use FULL DX8 T&L... wow.

I would play No One Lives Forever and Midtown Madness. (Midtown especially if you can find some old user made cars.)

GTA I and II. They're free too.

And all the crpg's like Fallout, BG, Planescape, Icewind Dale(I thought I already posted this but apparently not).
