It's a good movie I'd say. The ending was lol sauce.
Please don't turn this thread into religion. He was using that expression in the same way as the scientists on the LHC are calling the particle that they are looking for "Gods particle"
It's an expression used to describe the seriousness of the situation (this could potentially be pandoras box)
You forgot strangelets.
PROOF POSITIVE that shit is gonna go real bad with this thing....
i still call bs on all this. who cares if there is universal theory... its not going to cure aids, cancer, or any other crazy shit.
i find this is like a new video card for l33t nerds that video cards are not even a concern for. will this stop americans from polluting the shit out their planet? will this stop the world from doing the same? will this stop kim il from ill?
meh... how do we know this is a bigger discovery then lets say atomic theory and dna? its like saying "oh if we new what "makes up dna" was made up of, then we could cure this or that"... but its not true. we cant even do less crazy shit yet.
meh rambling. 40bil beats the hell out of funding the war in iraq that has 0 humanitarian benefits and negative benefits aka costs. at least this would get the chair rolling... get it... chair.

The trick is making a stable one. (yeah, I mean it both ways )Plenty of 'em here

Some have said that a mini blackhole if created (and grew exponentially) could "eat the earth in 50 months".
indeed the fired the 2 beams in the two directions, there is gonna be some collisions before October 21st, i think the first real collision is gonna be on September 16th (i´ll have to get a confirmation on the date) but these collisions are gonna be at a much lower energy level, so no "blackhole" yet
the real "Doomsday" collisions would be on October 21st!!!
More self studied.
Got every book I can find and just read read read.
Then read them again like five times.
My two favorites.
The Elegant Universe
The Fabric of the Cosmos
Both by Brian Green

Oh shit[/QUOTE]
We're fucked.
Anyone who thinks a micro black hole has the ability to destroy the planet is a fool.
Seriously. Shut up.
He does have quite the dainty grip on that torque wrench. I would wager one might even need to use a cheater bar to torque those down nice and snug. He could have at least posed like he was putting some elbow grease into it.I'm sure it is. The guy probably doesn't even know how to use a torque wrench.

And I applaud scientific experimentation, in all its forms- except forms that can potentially destroy the world.
This thread is getting kind of cranky. Time for some naps?
But I doubt anything will happen then, I am more interested in what this new experiment can bring to the real world in terms of new technologies.
Roll on October
