And you know what that means right? Our old friends at OCAU have been working to catch up in PPD since before the Chimp Challenge. And as of today, June 18, they are outproducing us by almost 20k for today.

They've DOUBLED their PPD since the beginning of the year.

well we suffered the loss of some [H]orde heavy hitters :(
 
someone needs to invent a better air conditioner so we can roll winter conditions year round without killing the electric bill

 
looking at the WU numbers, they also seem to have a lot more people rolling the nVidia client than us.

People on both sides shutting down systems due to the summer heat/save power use for AC is my guess. Either that or the Aussies are too busy barbecueing shrimp during summer to keep an eye on their boxen.

:eek::eek: Wow! That is a lot of WUs!!! I better get my other Nvidia cards going!

Edit: The GPU client has been hovering at about 130 TFLOPS. Now its up to 230 TFLOPS. A 100 TFLOP boost to the cause in about 24hours is excellent news!

Hey we gots plenty of "hot air" wind comin' outa' DC (in tha' US of A) we just need some cool wind like they gots in Anartica (I ain't never been there, but I read that pearl of wisdom in a National Geographic mag :p)

On the cereal side, I can understand why some people, even with AC units, downclock their boxen for safety in the good old summer time.(you know, power outage, flood, tornado, earthquake or even a forest fire if you have your farm in the woods, any act of God, Smoky the Bear on vacation or a power company snafu :rolleyes:)

 
It's been getting pretty warm here, but I will not be slowing down at all..... I can live with the heat:)

Looks like we need to do some ramping up real quick like around here....

 
I hate summer :( It's really just unbearable when it's 95F with 100% humidity... Oh July, how I don't look forward to you! (Aside from my birthday.. although I don't look forward to getting older.. Oh 23, I'm so old! ;) ;)).

Since March my computers temperatures have gone up by 15C... The video cards haven't really changed though, just the processor itself... But yeah, I can't wait for winter again :)


 
Don't count me to slow down... I have AC and living up north have its advantages ;) I will even be trying to break the 40k ppd mark within 3 weeks.

I would leave my AC on full blast 24/7 in the summer.. if I had the money to pay for THAT much electricity ;) Or even if I was paying the bills myself.. My father will come into my room, see the computers, TV, air conditioner, fan, etc all on and just shake his head at me. I mean, I do put my own money into the bills for the house.. but I don't make enough right now to even run the AC lower than 74F if I want the computers running too heh.

Although, I want more computers to fold... I would definitely pay for the electricity for that..... Damn you Workers Comp for paying me less than half of what I was making before getting hurt.... If I have a good court hearing in a few weeks, and get my regular amount of pay per week back.. I'm going to build myself a new system for folding only for sure.. and give my father more money for electricity per month of course ;)
 
I'm allready down one machine with the heat, Just a friendly bit of advice never cheap out when picking up a video card for a folding machine.

 
I'm actually ramping up - despite the TX heat - got another Q6600 coming in today, along with various fans and heatsinks.

Should have 2xQ6600, 1x8400 and 1x2180 by end of next week... I just hope they all stay up... Office actually got hot enough Tuesday that I had a WU fail @ 60%.

I find this quite creepy... I too live in 95+ with 90+ humidity... and am 23.

Every summer it is a battle to hold the #1 PPD spot. We are much much more steady, they more then double their points during our summer their winter.
