Iphone 6 vs S5

Did you not see it bending when he applied pressure to it?

edit: I'll make it easy for you

However, it did not stay bent like the iPhone 6 Plus did... nor did the sceen break like the iPhone 6 Plus did when he tried to bend it back.

So the moral if the story is, don't try to bend your new iPhone? It's really a pointless complaint.

I don't know anyone that puts their phone in their back pockets abd if you do you deserve a broken phone.

My 4s has been residing in my back pocket for about 80% of its life. (3 years) Guess what? It looks the same now as the day it was bought.

Samsung's success started with the Galaxy S3. It was the FIRST phone that wasn't carrier branded, it was the same name, same phone across all carriers, unprecedented for an Android phone. No more variants for each carrier.

And it WAS that much better than other phones, TouchWiz had a lot of little improvements. it had a great camera, battery life, form factor.

S4 and S5 are just incremental changes to the S3 formula. S3 is the reason Galaxy became popular and why people have stuck with it.

And call quality was really good for about 6 months after I got my S3. Then Verizon changed something and it turned to crap.

Now I have an S5, and the call quality is even better than what the S3 had when I first got it.

The factory OS on the S3 is crap though.. at least in comparison to Cyanogenmod. So much faster than stock.

As for the S3 being the same everywhere.. not completely true. The US version has a dual core processor, while the international version has a quad core processor.

Contemplating rooting my S5 as well, but it is so fast to begin with, I see no real reason yet.

You've mentioned the reason yourself - custom AOSP roms are so much better. Altough now Samsung locks their bootloaders, add Knox, there's no unlock, so its much harder.

You do know everything you said about the s3 being the same across the board abd not carrier branded is completely false right?

I think what he meant was that it didn't have different names on different carriers, it was the s3 on all of them, before that the s2 had different names on each carrier.

Maybe it stands for Transistor-Transistor Logic and why Foxconn connector is not an integrated circuit or electronics component.
you do realize that foxconn makes more than just connectors (such as USB, displayport, thunderbolt) which is still electronic as electric or other form of digital data passes through. Main reason we brought it up is Foxconn pretty much has a worldwide monopoly on them. Foxconn also makes a lot of motherboards or other circuit boards. You will almost never find an electronic without an electronic component made by Foxconn for those reason. Semiconductors are not the only electrical component in electronics. It was your own equation to say that only semiconductors are electrical components, so there if anyone else suggest connectors or mobos are electrical components, then they're also saying connectors and mobos are semiconductors. Your logic makes no sense and your outright refusal to accept these facts makes you insane and living in TTL.

And different versions.

Although the original s2 was great to develop for, checking compatibility on 5 versions of ONE device sucked.

flex != bent
The only difference, in this context, is the connotation. You don't like a word with a negative connotation — bend — being applied to a Samung device. You prefer the term with the more neutral connotation — flex.

It is an important distinction that you don't seem to grasp. In this case flex has a much less permanent meaning to it. This is apt in describing the Note 3 because after the test it only had very slight warping if anything. While the iPhone6+ was permanently bent and disfigured. Even though in the picture highlighted in this thread you can see that the Note 3 flexed significantly, it did not result in a permanent bend and damage to the device.

I do as well as most people I know. The iPhone users I know don't because sitting on the 5s seems to break the back glass.

Connotation has nothing to do with it, they are 2 words with different meanings. Hell, LG even has a phone called Flex. Try selling a phone called Bent.

Apple screwed up. If this had actually been a Samsung phone the Internet would've blown up.

Here is the thing people keep glossing over. Apple sells phones that are almost always feature lacking. No removable batteries, no microSD cards, they had one short stint with the highest resolution screens in their entire phone span. That doesn't even touch on software where there are so many things behind or absent even though they have billions of dollars just chilling out. So ultimately when apple proponents and owners are trying to justify the purchase great weight is put on the few things apple is doing different then the major competitors. This is how apple has operated for my entire life. So when one of those few things falls behind or screws up don't you think the people have a right to call them out and chastise them? How many years have we been hearing the crap about low build quality and crappy plastic. that's right everyone's buying a boring iphone because its supposed to be durable and have this amazing build quality that half the review sites claim is the bar none best standard to look up to.

I am not going to play a dick waving game I have used and personally help people with all these phones. You treat them like crap they break that's it and I have never experienced any phone that was that much worse than the others. Personally I wouldn't worry about the iphone in this case. But when you have iphone proponents spending half a decade belittling android phones because they are plastic you have to admit its awfully ironic when their metal glory can bend in your pocket. Simply put if apple users and reviewers didn't make such a damn big deal out of it no one would care. But that's the apple way they pick one thing and harp the living shit out of it. Then when it fails or they back track on it you absolutely bet they deserve to get a public humiliation.

To me the bigger story everyone is ignoring is apples decision to skip the sapphire screens. Its actually very disturbing because I see tons of comments from people who still believe they have a sapphire screen. I wonder how it is with this mostly mee too phone that none of the review sites have made a big deal out of this missing feature.

That's why I said that plastic likely wouldn't deform... only bend and spring back to shape (which is exactly what the Note 3 did) or break/shatter.

5s doesn't HAVE back glass. Only front.

FWIW, the 4 and 4s DID have back glass and I sit on mine ALL the time. And guess what? I'm over 300lbs. It still looks as good as the day it was bought. True story. :)

Yeah, despite having the glass back, those were some really durable phones. I dropped mine more times than I can count and even spiked it at a floor once (long story) and it never broke.

Right before I got my 5, I had actually dropped it into the toilet on accident (and quickly got it out) and it still worked... the moisture had corroded the contacts on the home button though, so had to eventually use the on-screen button to control it

Flex assumes that you can bend it and it will return to its original shape. Not sure how you think to overanalyze that...

"Flex" is often defined in terms of "bend". They have the same meanings, but different connotations.

Note that I am not talking about "flex" and "bent". Everyone knows the distinction between the two, as they are not of the same tense. You can either assume mi7chy's post was Captain Obvious or disingenuous, and the latter is the safer assumption.

No. See: Antennagate.

You're right. I meant the 4.

As far as being 300 lbs. Your ass must be huge and soft with all of that fat. Now imagine being a normal size where the weight isn't distributed over such a large area. That's where they run into problems.

Cushiony softness!! :D

No. See: Antennagate.

Flex
(of a material) be capable of warping or bending and then reverting to shape.

This is the important distinction that you are missing apparently. Hopefully you won't miss it now.

The Galaxy Note 3 has flex because it reverts back to shape. The iPhone6+ just simply bends, and then will break if you try to revert it back to shape.

I will prefer ip6 rather than s5 coz apple experience just overwhelmed me and its good in appearance as compared to s5
