Well it probably won't say shipped until the 23rd when AT&T does overnight to their customers, Apple ships straight from China, not from a distributor in the US like AT&T does.
 
I'm hoping for this as well 0ptional and Terpfen.

I ordered mine from AT&T and my order is still in Progress. Interestingly enough, two nights ago, it said everything was Backordered, but now it's back to In Progress.

Scary 3GS story: I pre-ordered my iPhone 3GS from the local AT&T store. They told me I'd have it on release day. THEY LIED. :eek: I came there on release day to pick it up and they said it would come later in the week. Livid, I investigated further.

Imagine they get 20 3GS' in. Ten of them are assigned for pre-order... the rest are assigned for first come, first serve. That's right... not all of the phones they get go to the people who actually went out of their way to be the first to get them.

Call me crazy, but I'd assume that if they got 20 phones in, those would all go to the first 20 people that pre-ordered the phone. Nope.

I said screw it by the end of the day after making all sorts of calls to the local stores and customer service line. Around 9pm I went to the Mothership (The "Cube" apple store in NYC), waited in line for 2 hours, and went home with my new phone. No reservation needed.

A few days later, AT&T charged my credit card for the iPhone I had reserved for them. I had to go to their stupid little kiosk in the mall and pick it up, and then return it right there and then.

I do not care how easy it was to pre-order from AT&T compared to Apple on pre-order day. I will never go through AT&T for pre-ordering again.

I do hope you get yours bro!

For the record: I pre-ordered my iPhone 4 at my local Apple Store this time. After 5-6 hours of trying on pre-order day.
 
My pre order from the local AT&T store now has a tracking number that does nothing. Says shipped on the 19th.

Same. I ordered with Debit Card and somehow my transaction from AT&T isnt there anymore. SCARY. Im hoping AT&T fucks up in my favor by sending me an Iphone + returning my $215.
 
My ATT.com pre-order (6:45AM CST on 6/15) now also shows a FedEx tracking number with a status of shipped!

I was reading on some forum (can't remember where) that AT&T is cancelling pre-orders that were done with a debit card.

When you pre-order, AT&T/Apple will place a hold on your card for the amount, then when it ships, they'll actually charge your card. Well, I think that hold on the debit card will only last for a few days until it automatically falls off. To me, that still doesn't make sense why they would cancel them. But that's the word.

In the end, you won't lose your upgrade ability, since they actually cancelled your order.

I think your best bet is just going in store and hoping to find one in stock unfortunately.
 
I just checked my order status from AT&T once I read that some are getting theirs shipped.
I preordered 2 iPhone 4s on the 15th, one of them is showing shipped with a tracking number from the AT&T order status site, but the other is showing as Cancelled!!!

I emailed the sales rep from the AT&T store I preordered from, I don't want this to be an issue on the 24th.
I'm hoping that they cancelled one, to merge both orders into 1 shipment. Fingers crossed...

Debit or Credit?
 
So weird....

I pre-ordered mine from AT&T at around 5:30AM last Tuesday. I just checked, my order says 'Shipped' with a FedEx tracking number and a ship date of 6/17/2010.

My girlfriend went to an AT&T store in State College and pre-ordered hers at around 5:30PM. The odd thing is hers says 'In Progress' but she also has a FedEx tracking number with a ship date of 6/20/2010.

Kind of odd.

the only reason I am staying with at&t still right now because tmobile and verizon customer service is pretty bad because I have been with them

at&t at least cs is pretty decent
maybe sprint next I suppose.. but I will miss gsm pop in sims and go.... def no to nextel ew

Oh I have no issues with AT&T. In fact, I live in NYC where service is supposedly horrid, and I've never really had a big issue. Some random areas downtown revert to Edge, but I've never had problems.

Now their pricing can use some work, but whatever!

true that their pricing is crap and data plan 2gb for almost the same price as every other unlimited dataplan on other networks wtf
and the whole crap about not able to handle the preorder iphone 4 and the lies they tell about how if everyone preorder on the 15th will get the phone on 24th

it really pisses me off I think the two phones that I preordered around 7a.m est on the 15th is backordered

I pre order with a debit card too. And a few days ago it was in my pending charges list. Now its not their. I really really hope AT&T doesn't cancel my order....
 
If AT&T cancels my order because I used a Debit Card I am going to be a very very unhappy camper
 
I had to cancel my Apple reservation, as the only way to get a subsidy for me is to walk into an AT&T store on Thursday :(

From that Mac Rumors thread I linked a few posts back:

After waiting on hold for 21 minutes, I got in touch with a rep at AT&T corporate, and here's the information that was given to me.

If your order page still shows a status of "In Progress," and you ordered the phone before 4:30p EST, be patient. Your tracking number should be assigned by tomorrow evening at the latest.

AT&T reps use three different programs to check the status of your order; one being the warehouse computer. In other words, even though your order page may show a status of "In Progress," you may already have a tracking number and you simply haven't received an e-mail yet.

The phones are being shipped from from either of the two domestic warehouses: one being in Fortworth, TX, and the other in Memphis, TN.

The rep also confirmed that FedEx was instructed not to deliver any orders until June 24, which means that even though your page shows an estimated delivery of June 23, the phone won't actually ship until June 23.

People in this boat can expect to have the phone, I'd say, between Thursday and Monday. Still, it pains me to wait just as much as anyone else.

I just checked my bank account and the money for the iphone is back in my account. So I'm not sure if that means they will recharge it once its ready to ship. But the money is showing back in my account..The status on AT&T's webpage still shows processing...
 
Mine shipped from china over the weekend. Cleared customs in Alaska today. Showing June 24th delivery date.

I don't know how you arrived at that conclusion from the video.

Apple is only now shipping iPhones from China. AT&T will get their mass shipments before the rest of us and then ship those out. We're probably looking at AT&T getting their phones on the 22nd or 23rd and overnighting for the 24th. Those who've ordered through Apple are getting shipping confirmations before those who ordered through AT&T for that very reason.

Right now, best to assume that if you preordered, your iPhone will be ready on the 24th one way or another, unless you get an email stating otherwise.

didn't get the conclusion from the video

I just always thought preorder on the 15th gets you the phone on 24th. I was just saying that on the 15th I waited all morning to preorder now saying it is backordered now :mad:
