Yea I do feel though Intel has so many people by the balls they just simply can't say it like it is. That video was weird. Its like they were trying to be critical but had to be nice about it lol.
I agree it's the way things are, unfortunately. I was shocked to see who is close to Intel these days just by seeing who had such quick access to the entire platform. I knew that Der8aur was an Intel shill back when he wrote this long thesis here about why Intel doesn't solder CPUs: http://overclocking.guide/the-truth-about-cpu-soldering/. I bet his face dropped when Intel started soldering their latest CPUs again. Then there is Digital Jesus, aka GamersNexus, and I guess I shouldn't be shocked. He's been pushing the overclocking of this CPU in at least two videos now. Intel must think that people can throw money away, like $6000 to $7000 on the motherboard, CPU, memory, and cooling alone. No thanks, for $2000 I can buy a 2990wx CPU with a basic X399 motherboard that will run it, and 128GB of Corsair Dominator is $1100 ~ $1200, and a decent AIO will be less than $200. And it will do everything I ever need it to do, and it will be more future proof and more upgradeable than Intel's $7000 space heater platform.
I like how they concluded the video: if someone else will buy it for you, then go for the W-3175X, otherwise buy a Threadripper CPU, any Threadripper CPU, lmao. They had to say something nice about it, but no matter how much Intel has them by the balls, they don't want to look like complete sellouts.
