It's one i got cheap from ebay. Wharfedale S-990. Part of a relatively cheap stack system I think. Does the job for me.

Thanks for the pic's, they have given me a lot of ideas. Although, I still can't decide between the Fredrick and the Fredrick desks. The Galants won't fit in the space I have set aside for them.

BUH! Camera is gonna be in on Monday i think :(
I bought a $150 point and shoot Fujifilm for $30 it should be much better than my phone camera!

Looks just like my desk and that's exactly what i paid for it ON CRAIGSLIST!!!! YAY!!!

I'm pretty sure if everyone that owned a jerker and wanted to sell it was aware of the demand, the laws of economics would kick in and they'd cost a hell of a lot more.

I agree 100% i would have paid $200+ for mine.

Finally, the freight company decided to deliver a desk that wasn't broken in half or have all the edges smashed in.. I apologize for the mess.. I need to get longer cables and install the last Signum cable organizer so I can route them better...

Glad to hear you finally got your desk! Wasn't this the fourth or fifth time of getting it shipped?

Actually looks kind of small in the room you have there with it so open. Not sure how much wire hiding you are planning to do on this desk, take a look at these if you need more space for whatever you want to hide. :D

Thanks, this was the third Galant table top they sent me.. First one arrived broken in half, second one looks like it got dropped on all the corners. This last one is in perfect condition, but the box it came in was the worst out of all of them.. Go figure.. Every time I called into Ikea they promised me over and over that they would package them "much better than the last one". That never happened.. Each one came in the same cardboard box just like they pulled it off the warehouse shelf..

Thanks for the heads up on those organizers.. I bought three of the Signum units when I bought this desk and I have two installed on the left side already. I'm going to put the 3rd on the right side. Eventually, I want to turn my tower 90* and put it up against the right or left side legs.. I need to get longer DVI, DisplayPort, and USB cables before I do that though.

I'm also going to get a couple of those cable hole kits with the hole saw and plastic grommet. I'll make some holes where the monitors are.

Thanks!!

Sounds like you have major plans for that desk. Show us more pictures once you are done and don't forget Monoprice for those cables!

Good luck!

What speakers are those?

Moving off campus next year and had a quick question about the tower holder for the Galant Desk. Is it a solid bottom? I'm using the Lian-Li Q08 case so I'm hoping this will fit ok.

There are a lot of really nice set-ups here. I'm definitely excited to get my new desk this summer.

The Summera? It's a solid bottom yes, basically a squared off U shape tray with arms that join into the frame of the galant (via brackets). It fits my P182SE case with the old kit inside with about 3/4 an inch on each side.

Seems like it should work then. The q08 is ~9 inches wide so it might be a tad tight, but nothing too bad I'm hoping.

I'm going to be using Capita legs and a piece of aspen as a Tower stand instead of this POS wood box I am using, it should look great!

I so love my Ikea Jerker... 4 years later! uber strong, light weight, minimalist, industrial. I could build a small block on this thing! Grateful for being able to get one of the last they had at the time! They discontinued them at the Mail order...found one in a store in California ( Im in FL ) they wouldn't ship from a store, so I hired a concierge service to pick it up and take to a pack and ship, and ups it to me! worked out perfectly!

You don't need the organizer. Just zip tie the cables to the frame sections. That's what I did and it looks great.

I second that. The Galant cable management is nice (as you can just toss things in there), but zipping a powerstrip and some cables works great, especially if you're not that close to IKEA. There's a small gap between the table top and the frame that is just meant for a zip-tie to go through.
