Ikea desk gallery

Where did you get the shelves that attach to the desk? I would like to get the desk but only if I could order every thing together.
When the Jerker line was still being sold, those were optional accessories. When I purchased that unit off of craigslist the previous owner included 2. I found another shelf off the FS forums.

So in the picture:
Jerker
3 optional swing shelves
1 optional cross shelf (black)

Best bet is to look off of craiglist. I purchased mine for $60 (jerker+2 shelves) as the owner was moving towards a galant.

Galant Corner Left Angle with Right Extension and added 68" galant desk added as extension.

Just bought a Galant desk today, I've seen some great examples in this thread so thanks for that! When it's up and running I will post my setup here.

Welcome to the forum. Stay awhile.

@Nick James, Can you post some more pictures of your setup. Looks solid and I just want to see it from a different angle.

I did take a few shots but they came out too dark. Here are some older photos before I got the extension and cable management.

I will take some new ones tonight when I get home from work, with better lighting. The reason I took these photos in such darkness is because I was hiding my cable octopus behind the monitors. I hadn't drilled the holes yet so all my power cables, monitor, USB devices everything was put into a giant ball, tight wrapped, and thrown behind the monitors. It looked horrible.

Actually it's a very dark midnight blue color. The ceiling is black though. Yes it does get warm, upper 70s in the afternoon but I live in Miami, Florida so it's to be expected. I have a wall unit AC that chills the room to a comfortable 68 degrees. Other than that, it doesn't really get too hot during the evening and night until I have atleast 3+ PC's or Xbox 360 consoles on at the same time, then the temp in my room can reach over 80 degrees fahrenheit, but then the A/C unit gets put to 65 degrees on days like that :p

Update to my desk, I've now repositioned my hifi speakers and hooked up my hifi to the pc. So the case has now gone under the galant to clear the way for the speakers and access to the hifi. Originally I was going to buy a 2.1 system, but there was no point. Thunderous sound now. :)

That setup just makes me want to go there, lay on the floor and giggle. Really nice man.

Oh you don't have to sit on the floor. There is a sofa bed on the opposite wall. ;)

I arranged the room to be as comfortable as possible for guests. That's why theres another gaming computer at the end of the table, the 360 with many remotes, and for gamer nights (like the halo reach one I had the other day) I break down my 3 monitors and split them up and hook each one up to an xbox 360 and network them for some gaming.

Finally got everything setup and configured. Galant corner left, extension left, half round right, computer tray, drawer. Need to find something for the walls heh. Ran headphones into the drawer so they disappear when not in use, switch for the lights is mounted on the side of the drawer.

Sorry to quote such an old post, but how did you get the tower holder to mount that way? I just bought this unit and the brackets look like they wouldn't hold the bars

For those brackets, you take them and place them on the sides of the bars for the desk, rest the tower on them and use two or four screws to push the tower up again the desk bars.

If you look at the picture, you can see the screw head right in front of the bar going down to support the computer.

I got the Fredrik desk yesterday (The small version without the shelves.) and was wondering if someone knew what the thickness was for the tabletop. I'm thinking of getting something like this:http://www.weberknapp.com/ergo/tray/econo_clamp.htm but I need to know the tabletop depth before I continue shopping for arms since none seem to tell you outright what the minimum thickness of the tabletop needs to be for mounting.

Webdes03 I like that setup, I wish I had the room for an L-shaped Desk. Are those two Dell SP2309W displays in the photo? If you are looking for display mounts check out http://www.tykesupply.com/Products.html What keyboard is that?

They are 2309W's. I haven't quite decided what mounting solution I want to go with. I have wall mount's that I had at my previous place, just haven't put them up here. There's also a matching set of old 1709's (one in the picture, the other is on my server). I've toyed with the idea of bringing everything together, just haven't gone that route yet.

Keyboard is a Logitech Illuminated- and I love it.

Nice. I need to paint my game room black also. Probably will do that in the near future.
It adds to the experience IMO.

Webdes03, very clean! I have the same galant desk and putchased the tower holder and cable managers last weekend. For some reason mine looks nowhere near as clean as yours. Couple of questions:

1. Did you buy cord extensions to get your components (mouse, keyboard, etc.) to reach the tower?
2. Can you post a closer up shot of how you mounted the tower holder brackets to the underside of your desk?
3. Why did you not remove the wheels under your Lian-Li? I have the same case and mine was constantly rolling off the bracket - even the "brake" wouldn't hold it from rolling off.

Thanks in advance, and fantastic setup again .
