I have overclocked my AMD Athlon XP 1700+ to 2079.537 according to the Nvidia System Utility. Used to go way faster but I upgraded the bios and that was it for real OC's. Darn thing won't let me go back to the old bios. Asus A7N8X Deluxe 2.0 (the first ones that came from the factory with the 1002 bios). Used to run at 11.5x210. Now it's 12.5x166. Can't go much above 166 without doing a manual reset of the bios after a hardlockup. Used to just say you need to adjust your CPU speed when I would hit 225Fsb; now I have to reset the bios everytime that I go above about 170 Fsb. Very sad indeed! I haven't tried to run at 200 Mhz Fsb since upgrading to the 1008 bios. Maybe I'll test it out tonight.

my 1.6a I oced to 2.53 I still have it 70mhz short from a gig that was air
my 3.0 does3.75 I can go higher on different cooling but I am stuck on air same cooler from the 1.6a pal8942
I had a 2.6 that did 2.8 that was pathetic so I sold her like worthless hore

Damn, I can't believe I forgot my 2100+

That thing ran 11.5 x 196 (~2.254Ghz) in its prime...um yeah, it needed more vcore, but my HSF at the time couldn't handle much over 1.7, so I had to back down to 11.5 x 190 @ 1.65Vcore.

I'm sure that if i had my Ballistix, it would have run 11.5 x 200 easy. 'Course, then we have the rev1.06 to worry about.

Ah well. Both are in my cousin's hands now, running at 2600+ speeds (with 170FSB haha).

First post here :)

Anyways, I have my retail 2.4 @ 3.24Ghz right now, stock HSF. I've been meaning to get some water cooling, but I just moved to school and havent had the time. Idle temps are about 31C and under load it gets to about 50C... maybe a little hot, but havent had any problems... been running it for over a year.

its only a 100mhz overclock.

but when its my old K6-2 400 thats been running @500mhz at default voltage and default cooling for the beter part of 2 years...

id like to get a new nforce 3 250gb board and see how far my athlon 64 goes.

My 2.4C runs at 3.6 - 3.7 air cooled on 1.6v... case does sound like a jet engine to keep it from melting during Aussie summer though. My house has no air con...and I'm running an acoustically padded (read - thermally challenged) GMC Neo Classic case. Looks good tho.

CPU runs at 3.3 though on 1.5 volts (that's LOWER than stock) all year round tho with fans set to levels I can sleep with <23db

The amount of hot air blasting out of my case however with all the following packed inside my small bedroom, makes me not need a heater during winter...

P4 2.4C @ 3.3 @ 1.5v
2x512mb Cosair XMS PC3500 @ DDR 440 @ 2.9v @ 2-2-2-5
IC7-Max3 (The OTES Fan bearing just died damnit!!!)
Powercolour 9600XT Bravo
Gigabyte 3D cooler 2004 GT
2x Evercool PCAC's in front bays
Audigy 2 ZS
Avermedia DVB-T Digital TV Card
1 x 120gb Seagate SATA - C Drive
2 x 120gb Seagate SATAs Raid 0
2 x 200gb Seagate SATAs Raid 0
Pioneer 106D 4x DVD-RW
LG 48x CDRW
2 Sets Logitech Z680's Wired Parallel through 1 control unit.
Hyundai 19" CRT (Saving up for a projector)
MS Cordless Desktop Pro 2.0 set + MS Trackball Optical Explorer for non gaming use.
Streamzap PC Remote Control for not having to get out of bed while watching movies.

I'm thinking of getting a 3.0E and a peltier set up and some Geil PC-4000. I've heard they get some crazy results.

I wanna give it another product cycle or two before I jump in on PCI-E and DDR2 and stuff... maybe wait for SATA II. It's not like I'm having any speed issues. Just heat!!! So much heat.

Wow, I come home from work and........wow, front page and everything. :p

Good stuff ppl....keep it coming.

Still running p4 2.4c at 3.36 on fairly quiet air.
it can go higher but the noise is annoying.

oh and i still have my p4 1.6 which runs at 2.44 so its still in the same category..can i vote twice :)

Shouldn't this be in a percentage? Yeah, 400 mhz is great on say a Barton 2500+, or a 2.8c, but what about a K2 or something? A 400 mhz OC on one of those would be pretty impressive.

There are also pathetic OCers, like Palominos. Some of them got a good 100 mhz on air.

got my 2.4a prescott goin at 3.2Ghz completely stable. On stock HSF. Once i finish up my wcing i hope to hit 3.8Ghz. Thats my goal atleast. I could probably get it higher on the stock HSF but didn't spend enough time at it yet.

No, it's meant to be straight MHz.....cus that's what every understands and can figure out without any extra math.

There has been a "spinoff thread" created for you folks who want the %'s instead.....check it out.

P4 2.8C @ 3.5, 700Mhz oc. The nice round number of 250fsb seem to be it's limit of my current rig (and what I voted in the poll). Air-cooled with a CoolerMaster Hyper6 with 2 25db white CM led-fans.

My highest Mhz oc ever was my P4 1.8A @ 2.826 (157fsb) and my first P4 came very close (2Mhz difference :p), a 1.6A @ 2.624. Both cooled with an Alpha PAL 8942 with a 29db 80mm fan when I got tired of the pitch of the stock fan which I used to get the limit on the 1.6A initially (didn't do more with the Alpha).

My AXP 1.7+(1436MHz) got to 166*12(1992MHz) on default voltage.
I figure I just got a great CPU and MB(8RDA+). ;)

Mobile 2200+ (1.67ghz) 2750mhz 11x250 @ 2v
DFI Lanparty Ultra B w/ vdimm mod
2x512MB GEIL Ultra Plats. PC3500 @ 500mhz @ 3.4v

P4 2.4C @ 2.9G in a Shuttle SB75G2
1G Kingmax PC4000 Hardcore RAM at 2.5-3-3-6
CPI @ 1.575V RAM @2.8V

I'm pretty sure that if the BIOS let me up the core voltage a tad more I could crack a stable 3.0G. I take consolation in the fact that I can run tight RAM timings.

It says three people have oveclocked their CPU by 1ghz. Unless these are phase-change Athlon FX-53's or P4EE i'd be suprised if this was true. Could those people possibly step forward and say what your OC'ing and how your doing it? Even those Pentium4 2.4's didn't go up to 3.4, i don't think.

heh, wrong to be fair :x

my xp1700 (1.47 ghz) runs every day at 2.4 ghz, benchmarks at 2.5 and has been in to windows at 2.55 - on air ;)

Bah, just missed getting into the 1GHz category by 17ishMHz :(

Oh well musn't grumble, I still love my ickle 1700xp :D

Right now Im on a borrowed P3 733 that I got up to the amazing 770 mark wo doing anything. The problem is that it is not mine and it has its uses (more then gaming) and therefore I dare not preasure it.

Well atleast i can play WC3 :)

AMD Duron 850MHz @ ~1.1GHz [air]

Now I can do 12.5x190=2375 @ (1.79v). But when I go to game it overheats. So I need more cooling. I'm currently just running on air. I would order some more tools to get some more out of this puppy, but I'm saving for a ring for my girl and a Athlon 64 (in that order!!!). People with Corsair memory should try this bios. Right now I have turned it back down to 12.5x166 until I do something about the heat. It's been there for the past year. But it has so much more potential with this new bios! And my system no longer hardlocks (and make me to reflash the bios!). Loving the OC's!!! Post more guys! Hmm, I wonder if the higher multipliers are avaliable (13+)???? See ya'll!

Managed to get my 2.0GHz to post at 3GHz once. Gets to the graphical loading part of Windows and then reboots. The stable area is 2.76GHz. And this was when 2.4GHz were top-of-the-line too.

However it all fell apart when I installed the 5200...now it won't even post if overclocked:-(

Hopefully better things will happen when I get a new job and a 6800.

AMD Athlon XP-M 2400+ (1.8Ghz) @ 245Mhz x 11 = 2695Mhz on water, and doesn't go over 40°C

Hmm, thread doesn't have a sticky and has been pushed off the front page.....gotta get more poll results in. :)

The A7N8X needs that bridge/pin mod or whatever to get higher than 12.5x

*and as you can tell from my sig, I'm too lazy for that. Instead I run @ this setting, so i can afford a quiter fan--I might even switch to a M1A soon (32 to 28dba), as 1.7Vcore is hardly anything.

Can't remember if I posted previously...

My current rig is a 25% overclock (A64 3000+ running 2.5gz)

My old rig based on an NForce2 and XP Mobile was a 2400+ (1.8ghz) overclocked to 2.4ghz...not bad, a 600mhz overclock (34%), but it took 1.8v to do it.
