Jason Schreier isn't usually known to be unreliable but I understand that sentiment.

Would love to see this be true, but couldn't really see Sony giving up their strongest console asset (their exclusives).

Makes perfect sense. They're not making any money on it on PS4 anymore, and would only draw more sales if its once again exclusive on PS5. This seems to make perfect sense.

Sony always seemed more like a 'remake it at a higher resolution for the next gen Playstation' than a 'release it on a more powerful hardware platform'-type of company to me.

Anything that puts an end to exclusives-by-contract is a benefit in my mind. I'd definitely give it a try on PC.

Let's hope the June RTX 3080 isn't going to break my wallet for an upgrade to play this.

don't do it Sony!!...they have the best exclusives on the market...they need to keep their exclusives and remain a top tier brand for console gaming...Xbox is irrelevant now since MS moved all their games over to PC...I find it really hard to believe that Sony is going to port HZD to PC

I'm ok with it. The game is three years old, and is only $20 for the complete edition on the PS4, so, they've had a good run. They just want more profit, and I think this is a smart move.

Fucking awesome. Can't believe I'm seeing it. I played it on a borrowed PS4 back in 2017 already, and last year when I got my own PS4 I bought the complete edition of the game for 10 bucks. I doubt I'll play through the game again on PC, but it's damn nice to see a Sony 2nd-party game on PC. So that engine will debut on PC twice, with HZD and Death Stranding this summer. Interesting.

Agreed 100 percent. It's a cool bonus.

That's cool and all but I am not waiting 3 years for PC ports of Sony's exclusives.

It's going to be nice to see this on PC. :) I loved the game on PS4 though now I am thinking, do I really want to go through that long ass quest to get the arguably the best armor in the game again? lol.

Hopefully it's a solid port with lots of config options. Hoping for HD textures and increased draw distance at minimum to go along with being able to run at 4K60.

I'm stoked to play this on PC. Bought it when it came out for PS4 but never got around to playing it.

It's not that hard as long as you hit the areas as you reach them with the story.

I will definitely replay this game on PC. Literally my only issue with the original was having to aim the bow with a controller. If the mouse and keyboard controls are good...perfection.

Very impressive, didn't see that coming. You'd think they'd wait until the end of the PS5 cycle and use PS4 exclusives to help push the PS5 during the launch year. Obviously, Sony is looking past hardware and want to get into Streaming and the first step is to make software hardware agnostic but I suppose this is happening sooner than I expected.

Personally, I wanted to see the Uncharted series or maybe The Last of Us instead because we already have dozens of open world action RPGs/hybrid games. Between Death Stranding, Cyberpunk, Final Fantasy (I know that is getting delayed for PC) and Red Dead Redemption 2 we have a lot that have come or are coming this year.

ALWAYS something negative to say. Why does this piss me off so much? Jesus Christ, lol.
What was so negative about it? I rather buy it when new on PlayStation then wait years. Just block me if It piss you off so much. You whine about me as much as my bitching.

Does this mean Sony has some kind of timed exclusivity deal with developers or is Sony cherry-picking games to port? Did Sony just turn over a new leaf, and this is the first (of many) PS4 -> PC ports? Could it have something to do with new consoles coming, so Sony is loosening up on old games?

I have so many questions.

HZD was published by Sony, they may hold the rights (I'm not sure). Probably a test to see if it does well.

Guerrilla Games is owned by Sony Interactive Entertainment, but I agree that it is probably a test case. Sony probably sees the extra revenue that Microsoft is generating and wants a taste of that. Sony and Microsoft are also collaborating for game streaming. Probably a combination of things that Sony came to this decision.

I'm shocked to see this on PC and it comes with the Frozen Wilds DLC as well...thought about picking up a PS4 Pro when this first came out...hopefully it's priced at $29.99...

I do find it an interesting choice because it is a new series. I assume there will be sequels. You'd think they'd go with Uncharted to test the waters, as I believe that series is over. Much like Halo, they already did an HD remake for the PS4, so you'd think they do a port of the entire collection to PC as they are older.

I doubt they'll bring over all games though. They'll probably hold onto God of War and Last of Us. Spiderman I can see coming to PC, because the brand name is huge and isn't a Sony created IP so a lot of people already are familiar with it even if you don't own other Sony products. Maybe that and a part of the Uncharted collection, but the developers have stated it doesn't mean we'll see all Sony games come to PC. So who knows what else if anything will come.

Decima, the engine the game runs on, is being ported to the PC for Death Stranding. Makes sense to port Horizon with the devs already getting PC experience due to that.

The important thing will be to see how its priced, as polonyc2 mentions. If its $30 or lower (preferable $20 if that's what it now sells for on PS4) for the complete edition, that will be reasonable given the time delay. Overall, I'm very pleased to see any former console exclusive titles come to PC , especially those by 1st / 2nd party studios like these. With luck this will be part of a trend that means releasing more of their older content on PC (ie The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted collection, and even some formerly PS4 exclusive titles like the Kingdom Hearts All In One Collection) as well as either eliminating or minimizing the delay between console and PC release for future titles.

As far as I am concerned, its time to put an end to exclusives by contract, including console exclusives, and the gaming community will be better for it. People are already concerned about upcoming titles such as Final Fantasy VII Remastered and Persona 5 Royal either being PS4 (or in the future PS5 ) exclusive or at least timed exclusive, which would be disappointing. Its incredibly frustrating when titles don't come to PC at all, but it also is grating when games come after months or years of delay and price the game as if it was a day 1 AAA release, then complain that "PC gamers just don't want to buy! The market isn't worth it!" . Even with their delays, it is nice to see titles like Death Stranding and Horizon Zero Dawn coming to PC, ideally with all DLC included and reasonably priced, and I'd love to see even more.

I have it on PS4 and thought it was weird. Cavemen fighting robot dinosaurs.
