Hidden Message in Portal Update

hope they devote the time to making HL2: Episode 3 a quality game and not just an advertisement for Portal 2
 
Yea it makes me think that they will release something else besides portal 2 and episode 3. Something like another multiplayer game, maybe new or something added to tf2 cs etc.

I have a feeling that they will tie portal into ep3 more than people realize. I think portal was a beta on a new gameplay to incorporate into ep3, but with that in mind shared the idea in a game in itself. I would expect the team to start heading to the aperture science lab.
 
I'm not sure they're ready or going to do an ep3, i think it just might turn into a HL3.

Portal 2, or a prequel is possible, probably showing more of the HL universe prior to the first game.

Whos needs to write a backstory when you can release a bunch of random ASCII codes, some keywords and the Portal fans will write it for you. Genius. The power of suggestion :D

It would be awesome if Valve ended up rickrolling the world.
 
One suggestion I saw is that Portal 2 and Episode 3 might be the same game... Sounds like something someone just pulled out of their ass though. :p

Valve isn't in the business of teasing to this extent and then pulling the chair out.

Even the silliest of suggestions in TF2's comics and videos have turned out to be real in-game features.

From what I've heard the consensus is that the sequel to Portal will be rolled into Ep3/HL3, but that it's successor will be a prequel.
 
I'm speculating, but I see the Combine coming across Aperture Science's portal technology and using it in a new episode or game. Blending Portal 2 into HL3 or HL2 Ep. 3 sounds good to me.

It would all make sense. Also, I wonder if Cave has anything to do with that slug thing we fight at the end of HL2. It's been so long so I forget a lot lol.

Gotta love Valve. At least they didn't piss on their beginnings like Infinity Ward did.
 
so when are we finally gonna get the answer to this puzzle?...is Valve gonna announce something this week...mind teases are fun up to a point

They smart money seems to be March 11, at the GDC when Gabe Newell gets an award. The GLaDOS version referenced is 3.11.

I believe Gabe Newell has already said that HL2 Ep1-3 is, in essence, HL3. I expect there will be an Ep3 to close out the trilogy, followed by another full game.

Nah, the episodes are all part of the HL2 story arc.

That's not all that happens.

In addition, there is some new dialogue that's almost impossible to hear (use subtitles) at the very end of the boss level.

Change the color to #222222 for regular text and #333333 for quotes.
 
i read a fair amount of this thinking it was about 'postal' rather than 'portal'...i was wondering why so many people still played postal, but it makes more sense now.
 
I have a question...

What Software did they use to pull the images from the WAV files??? I have been looking all over the web trying to find out what software they used or a software that does the same thing, but cannot find it...

Can anyone point me in the right direction?? PM me as I may not always followup on this thread, but would still like to know what SSTV type of software was used.... and of course try it for myself...

GDC is next week. I'd wager on the Portal and Half Life Episode sequels getting announced then.
