you know, I really dont mind the "I'm afraid of building a computer" comments. I was too, dunno why, actually, no one knows why they are afraid, it's just something new, thats all...
I agree, or what if you WANT to build a computer, and your "computer STUPID" parents won't let you because they KNOW that i would screw up, break every piece of hardware... and he would have wasted his money. I hate my parents when it comes to computers.Originally posted by Black Morty Rackham
What I mind about such people is the "oh, there's no way I could do something that hard"-mentality many people get about computers.
"It's not really that hard, you know. Just press the little icon."
"Oh, why must computers be so complicated?"
"They're not. Just click the icon."
"lalalala, I'm not listening!"

what is wrong with the above system?
3 )F-Lock on new logitch or microsoft keyboards.

Lol, well, for one, what the heck is an "Analigy"? And don't say soundcard comparison... (Bad joke.) All the rest was good except that I'm simply amazed the power supply could handle all that and the memory is a bit overkill (sure it doesn't hurt to have 2GB, but it doesn't help much for a few years yet, and that just makes it cost more when you could have just upgraded in a few years.) Seriously though, creative labs makes like two or three good soundcards and from there they just use their name because everyone assumes they are the greatest. Most likely any system anyone buys will have one of those stinking SBLive cards with their low stats and cheap resampling for anything that isn't 48KHz (aka 99.999999% of the games out there and 100% of applications.)
Oh, and about the F-Lock, I will admit that's just about the most amazingly idiotic thing either of them have ever done apparently just to show their stupidity (surprise, microsoft was involved...) The good news is that logitech had someone in their group who had an iq above 5, so their keyboard will REMEMBER whether you had the F-lock on when you shutdown your pc unless you cut the power (power supply or unplug.) For the microsoft keyboard, well, you can always remap the keys using some complicated processes I guess (saw info on this around this forum somewhere in fact.) Not exactly an easy task. Oh well, not coincidentally, I threw out that wireless ms keyboard to the first person who wanted it and I still am keeping my nice corded logitech navigator (believe it or not, I like the wheel built into the thing and the volume control has saved my headphones more than once when I was in the middle of something really loud.)

Or like yesterday, when i might need to get a plat pannel moniter for college (my trinitron probably won't fit... unless i bring the hacksaw ^_^). So im like, ok... fine, can you get me the dell 2001FP, and there like... hm... 800$??? NO WAY. You can get that little 15inch with 500000ms response time, 0.5º viewing angle, and 0.5pixle pitch ratio (yea, i made up some of that stuff.. but you get the idea).

Well, I guess I got lucky. I got a sweet Philips FW-C577 CD-player thing for X-mas, and it has a USB port to hook it up to the PC. W/ the driver, it acts as your soundcard, and has KickAss sound! Plus, you can control your WMP playlist w/ the remote!! (120gb of music goodness at the touch of a remoteOriginally posted by Nazo

Wow, I've never heard of this thing, but that sounds pretty darned neat. Though I personally HATE WMP with a vengance and use WinAmp for my music playing needs. I'll bet that has a plugin for winamp somewhere out there though.Originally posted by grantunderland

creative lab's cards suck for the pure reason that you cant DOWNLOAD THE DRIVERS. you can download driver UPDATES but you still need the FUCKING ORIGINAL CD. plus the drivers are absolutly terrible, theres so much bloatware with them, its just astounding.

Oh yeah, another peeve, Fanboism. Like having to strictly stick to one brand for no real particular reason, other than "Fuck Intel" or "Fuck AMD", or "Fuck ATi/Nvidiots".

I hate it that every (digital, of course) camera manufactorer just tries to push the number of pixels, regardless of whether it's a consumer or pro camera... a normal person simply doesn't NEED 5 megapixels. It'd be way better if they spent the time building better optics or getting better color reproduction or whatever. Grr.![]()

I'm sure you will be really surprised, then, to hear that they discontinued those things a long time ago.

My friend just bought a new 5 megapixel digicam...with a #@$ing 2x zoom. W.T.F? i would rather have a 3 megapixel cam with like a 5-10x zoom.
what's the point of having 5 megapixels if you can barely zoom in?
