[H] Stock Alerts, Tips & Tears 2025

Did not expect a 5080/5090 FE drop this morning at Best Buy. Gives me a little glimmer of hope for the future. Anyone know when the last BB FE drop was? Curious if there's a pattern to the schedule so far and if Nvidia will remain consistent with it (wishful thinking since they can push out many at MSRP unlike other companies AIB models and feel absolutely no ramifications in doing so because AI $$ baby.)

They have been hording FEs for a while at least 2 weeks plus. VPA emails were not going out either.
I'm betting this is pre tariff inventory and fresh batches will have price increases unless Nvidia can skirt around tariffs somehow. Or maybe eat the cost? lol.

Eating the cost when you're worth 2.5 trillion USD would be quite the chill thing to do for gamers losing hope at this point. Who am I kidding though, it'll just be more scalper fodder at the end of the day.

I got as far as checkout then said not available. Not really looking to buy one, but thought I'd check to see how far I'd get and the outcome was what I thought..lol
I can still get to payment page so it's still in stock.
Using the buy now button, but not committing is another accurate inventory test.
Edit: I do the same thing just to participate. lol.

I was really looking g for a 5080 myself, but I don’t think I have ever seen a 5070fe in the wild so I bit. Always nice to have a 2 slot card for my itx build.

Yeah I tried again and got to submit order, but of course I didn't. People seem to be scaling back on spending (me included) with the uncertainty in the world right now. I'm not going to say I still wouldn't mind one of the Aorus 5090 Master cards if one would become available. I really like my Aorus 5080 so I still want a matching 5090.

It is still showing "add to cart" for me but then I noticed that Walmart was not the seller/shipper so I quickly closed that tab.

Lots of MSRP 5070ti drops on Best Buy today. Looks like I am getting an ASUS Prime.

Have to be quick. Defaulted to store pickup rather than shipping but I just clicked through. Shipping was 2 days, store pick up adds another 5 or so days.

If you're interested in Best Buy drops, be sure to have your phone handy and/or email open. It requires a quick text message or email verification. If you're too slow to enter the code it will sell out. I used Trackalacker and kept tabs open for the models I wanted, so as soon as a notification went off I just clicked F5 and started the process. Best of luck to you all.

Edit: And if you're looking for an MSRP 5070ti, ASUS Prime & Gigabyte Windforce are the models that seem to come in stock over the last week.

I've been hanging on to a ASUS Prime 5070 TI for over 2 weeks. Hoping to snag a MSRP 5080 even 5090.
Struck out on yesterdays BB drop so caved and put in the Prime.
On spin up the fans blast to 90%+. Quiet bios reduces the severity, but still happens.
I read some Primes have cracking noise when winding down to zero rpm. Thankfully mine is quiet. Lots of complaints with Gigabyte fans doing that. My Gigabyte Windforce 4070 makes a grinding noise in spin up / down.
Let me know if your Prime roars on spin up.

Will do. I think some GPUs do this as a dust clearing feature, though it annoys me. Can't recall the last GPU I used that had it. My EVGA RTX 2070 had an annoying ramp up/down noise when the fans would turn off and on. In the summer it would do this frequently when not gaming. Nothing horrible, just a quick little tick when ramping up. The EVGA 1070, EVGA 3070, and Zotac 4070 Super did not do this. Transitioning from idle to fans on/off is not noticeable. Is your noise more like a quick tick, or is it a grinding noise that lasts a few seconds?

My EVGA 3060 Ti FTW and 4070 Windforce both had a fan grinding / rattling noise. Only when fans turn on / off and for a second.
For the Gigabyte people say it is the fan mount vibrating against the heatsink. Solved by putting something in between. These days I also read it can be the magnetic stopping mechanism.

I'm just thankful the 5070 Ti Prime has no fan issues at all and no coil whine.
Literally every card since the 3060 Ti had coil whine in my rig. (4070, 3090, 4090, 7900 XTX)

I have some experience with the EVGA 3060ti, think it was the same model, 3 fan version, same as my EVGA 3070 FTW Ultra XC (I think that is what it was called). Did not recall any grinding noise. Might be luck of the draw. I am annoyed by a fan on/off noise so hopefully I get a good one. If there is a sound for turning fan on/off like on the EVGA 2070, I'll probably edit the profile so the fan is always on.

Best Buy is saying I can pick it up on the 26th, can't change to shipping at least for now. Not in a big rush so not a big deal for me.

Yep, do not touch the order even if you can. Somebody changed the pickup name and Best Buy cancelled their 5090 order. Rough.

Yeah I'll just leave it. If you're getting something from Best Buy be sure you're signed in and have your local store as your default. Last thing you want to do is click through and find out you have store pick up in another state. :ROFLMAO:

A number of 5070tis in stock at Best Buy, MSI.com and Amazon (Prime only). Not MSRP. At Best Buy Gigabyte Windforce at MSRP has been in and out of stock today.

Buddy snagged a Gigabyte 5070ti today at Best Buy in the afternoon randomly. Those off-beat restocks during the day after the usual initial restock in the morning seem to actually be accurate drops. He told me the alerts didn't even go off when he picked it up he was just refreshing the page manually.
