getting into bitcoining?

I can't believe how slow Newegg super saving shipping is. Oh well, at least the G630 I ordered from Amazon gets here today and I'll be able to get the 3rd 7950 up and running. I'm still waiting on 7790+7770 deals I got in on. I knew I should have just paid the $3 to get them shipped 3-day... Amazon has really spoiled me with their Prime shipping. I hate ordering from anywhere else because of it.

I dont know about you guys but both give-me-ltc and invasion was down last night.

Give me ltc said they were running but i dont think i got anything from my hashing last night. Hopefully they still need to be transfered to the new server....

Back on invasion though. Running fine.

yeah GMLTC also went down yesterday. I switched over to coinotron at that point. I still have one comp mining there until I get the 10LTC to avoid the 'penalty' for <10ltc payouts.
Most of my stuff has been mining invasionnetwork for the past 2 hours and it's been smooth so far.

There's currently a "gold rush" going on with FTC. If you check Dustcoin.com, not another coin comes even remotely close to matching FTC profitability...though its just because difficulty is so low right now...give it a week and it will probably level out.

is that where you went?

Interesting.

I tried FTC out but it seems that im always detecting new blocks and not really accepting many shares. Recommend a pool?

I use featherpool, their stratum was jacked up yesterday/last night resulting in really low performance so I switched over to LP and its been fine since. Downside is the pool is so large that I only collect like .75 of a coin per round....upside though is that the pool is so large that its averaging a block every 7 minutes. Running the math puts me at $66 dollars a day...though not sustainable as the network is MASSIVE and difficulty is ramping up. Just getting the coins and converting them to BTC while BTC is low. Hopefully BTC will return to 120-150 range and I can make a decent gain off them.

is that where you went?

With your massive output you should definitely be taking advantage of the FTC rush. I'd almost suggest you solo mining FTC...8Mh would find you a block roughly every 18 hours...average 263 coins a day...about 100 dollars a day or 1.18BTC at current exchange rates.

I have my new system up and running, xfire 7970's.

Is it worth trying to set this up from a monetary standpoint?

If so, can someone link me a guide for the basic configuration?

Thanks very much.

what brand of 7970s? you bet its worth it. i paid off 4 7970s in about a month and a half of mining. prices have fallen, but those are damn good for mining.

Why are people exchanging their BTC and LTC for FTC? It makes no sense... it's clearly valued high because it's new and it's not going to remain there. I guess it's the traders looking to play this virtual stock market for a quick buck, but I someone has to get raped in the end for all of this happen.

I think FTC is here to stay simply because :

BTC = Benjamins
LTC = Dollars
FTC = Pennies

That's enough. We don't need more new pump and dump attempts - it's not good for the market and when a bunch of alts start failing completely it could negatively impact the others as people start questioning their true worth.

its new and people just trying to make a quick buck while difficulty is low. i think its extremely over valued tbh

FTC is the way to go if you're trying to make short term gains.

It's incredibly cheap and will probably double or triple in value then level off.

From a miner's standpoint, its a gold rush. If I can mine 200 coins in a day, and transfer them into BTC at a rate of .0048ish...that's about 1 BTC a day...no other currency comes close to making that much right now.

I have a sapphire 7970 @ 1100/1550 and an Asus DCU2 7970 @ 1125/1575.

If you could point me in the direction for getting the proper software and pool connections, I'd appreciate it.

first think you need to do is download the AMD SDK here:

http://developer.amd.com/tools-and-...erated-parallel-processing-app-sdk/downloads/

Once you do that, sign up for a pool like mine for litecoin :D
http://invasionnetwork.com

Once you sign up, go to the my account then my workers and setup a worker.

To start, id probably start with guiminer - script as it has some preset stuff in there and is easier to tweak than cgminer for starters.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=150331.0

Open guiminer.exe punch in all your info and pick your card from the drop down. Theres a million things to tweak from here so from there on its best to explore :)

Here's my first attempt at a mining rig case...first time working with metal and definitely don't have all the tools necessary yet...so its not square, the cuts aren't very clean, and there's probably about a dozen or more unnecessary rivets but, its strong and it holds up to six GPUs. Gotta build at least one more...maybe two...just waitin on Cablesaurus to send me my PCIe extenders so I can put the thing to use....maybe ill paint it black while I wait...

I was just way to lazy for something like that. I literally went over to my next door neighbor's and snagged a few of his old HP/Antec cases, through a cat in, and done.

13.4 was solid for me.

Cgminer just crashes repeatedly for me.

Had 3 days of mining. Guess that's all I'm gonna get :p

I just cant get ftc to work good for me. tried using stratum tried going without. I get one share accepted every fire minutes.

I was using feathercoin.is-a-geek.com

Anyone had any experience with a good pool?

With LTC i get a share accepted ever 2 to 8 seconds seconds.

I seem to be doing pretty well with featherpool.com though I haven't looked to see what my stale rate is the website is reporting my hashrate around 5.2Mh, where it should be.

Tried invasion pool again. My stales are MUCH better than they were but I am only getting half the hash rate (as reported by guiminer) as i do on coinotron.

how long did you have it running? are you getting any hardware errors or anything in the console?

These are the two scripts i was putting in cgminer. Was I doing something wrong?

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:3333 -u XXX -p XXX --shaders 1792 --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2

cgminer --scrypt -o http://feathercoin.is-a-geek.com:8341 -u XXX -p XXX --shaders 1792 --intensity 13 --worksize 256 -g 2

eh, my bad. I figured it out.. I had a second instance running that I didn't realize. Seems to be good now.

That looks right but im not sure cause 1. I don't mine for FTCGeek (though I checked their site for settings), and 2. I use GUIMiner Scrypt...takes MOST of the guesswork out of mining...and im lazy, lol.

Even tried that:

Hate to keep bothering you, but could you link me to the pool you are using. My pool just must be garbage. invasion is working perfectly for me on either GUI or cgminer.

That looks like GUIMiner...or I guess just an older release of Scrypt....regardless, featherpool.com is the pool I mine FTC for.

cgminer --scrypt -o stratum+tcp://featherpool.com:9998 -u Codyak.XXX -p XXXX --shaders 1792 --thread-concurrency 24768 -w 256 -I 20 --lookup-gap 2 -g 1

~600kH/s each

Overclocked with MSI Afterburner

nothing....

BINGO!!

Do you notice this is a lot slower? Only pulling 560kh/s compared to normal 950

EDIT

removing '--lookup-gap 2' boosted me back up to ~900k/hs

BTW, what are you two addresses? I'll send y'all each a few coins for your help.

On my 6950's I noticed about 50kH/s each slower so I threw them back on BTC (gonna move them to Invasion soon). 7950's seem to be the same.

nothing....

Got my xfire 7970s up and running on invasion..... My primary card can't seem to break 450hash.... Second card wobbles between 550 and 650....

Any suggestions for improving my hash?
