getting into bitcoining?

The only ltc exchange i'm aware of is btc-e.

So exchange your ltc on btc-e.com for btc. Then send that btc to your mtgox account. Then you exchange it there for USD and get it into Dwolla.

You can't go from btc-e to Dwolla? New to this myself and still trying to figure things out.

It definitely works, ive done it and here's how...at least my way:

LTC-->USD on BTCe
Using AurumXchange transfer USD from BTCe to MtGox in the form of a BTC-E code. This incurs zero fees.
Once on MtGox, just withdraw to Dwolla then your bank account. All told I took a .25 cent fee on a $400 dollar withdraw.

for those mining on invasion, the pool double paid the last block, so im trying to tweak account balances accordingly (if you are wondering why it is changing a bit). Im just trying to get it down to where i can cover the overages out of pocket since im out of town tonight.

good to hear there are some technical problems going on at the moment with invasion. Why is that good? because I just tried it out about an hour ago and was very disappointed with the results (20% stales, low hashrate). I'll try again when you get it sorted out.

looks like AX charges a 1% fee. Or am i looking at it wrong?

Appreciate all the work to get all the kinks ironed out!

I can live with that!

Did you chose BTC-E code? last time I did that there was 0% fees.

I must be looking at this the wrong way.

This is my understanding:

LTC wallet --> BTC-e (convert LTC to USD; withdraw USD as BTC-e code) --> aurumxchange (use BTC-e code to add funds here and send the fund to MT Gox) --> Mt Gox --> Dwolla

I dont see where oyu can add a btc-e code on aurumxchange.

It was definitely down for a bit but it seems to be normal again.

Anyone know how to set different settings for different GPUs. I got my second 7950 in today, and launching cgminer causes it to run both cards at the same settings. That would be fine if for some reason the second GPU ran at the same speed as the first. But it doesn't - it runs slightly slower (550kH/s instead of 590kH/s). Thanks in advance!

Out of curiosity, how much ram does that system have?

I have 2 7990's on the way... is it worth mining at all since the asic's have come out?

I've been debating on getting into this, seems like a big investment but even with one machine are people making more than what the power costs? Do you only mine off peak or do you do it 24/7? I pay about 10c/kwh on peak and about 6c off peak. Guessing you also play the market with the BTC that you make and not just cash it right away?

I'd probably get a 4U case and try to find a motherboard that has 3 or even 4 usable pcie16 slots and go from there. Seems most you can only use 2 slots though as they are not spaced well enough.

Yes it will outweigh the cost of power, and one good way to cut down costs is to use parts you already have if you can. My initial system was a dual 6950 setup and the only cost was the second 6950.

All three of mine are 24/7.

Once I paid off the initial hardware costs I was a lot smarter with playing the market. Initially however I was a bit antsy and wanted that out of the way.

Another good tip to help with cost is to run a power cable from your neighbor's house. ;)

Or tap into it pre-meter. :p Setup a serious bitcoin op LOL. But yeah once I'm done spending money on other home/server projects think I'll look into building a decent rig and go from there. I'm thinking going with maybe a 3U case for decent density. Probably better for cooling too.

do not get a MSI R7970 TF 3GD5/OC for mining at stock my cards are all over 90C whit 2 spaces between them i had to take out the 3ed one as it was hitting over 100c at stock this is whit the fans at max

Yes.

Certain coins such as Litecoins are not mineable with asic atm. With the 2 x 7990 you'll be over 2000kh/s and making a cool $20 a day most likely.

thats insane.

MSI TF are great cards. Did you try re-applying the thermal compound?

i haven't had any temp probs so far.

All open air setups. Open a window, and they stay below 80C without a box fan with ambient around 70F. I left room to add the 4th gpu per basket as soon as I get the adapters.

I seem to be having a terrible day mining. I keep losing both pools I use (give-me-ltc and Invasion Network). :(

Edit : Wow JMacker!!

yea redoing the thermal compound helped a lot drooped temps 20c on 2 of the cards and 10ish on the other one card had so much paste on it it was all over the core and all the crap around the core and 1 had so litle that could see dry spots where paste was never at

Wow, and I thought my build was low budget with old HP and Dell cases. That picture may be a fake though, I don't see a pissed wife in the background.

Also I have a few Sapphire 7950's and they all stay under 75 even in the case.

Exactly what I was thinking. lol.

Amazing setup though!

dude that's a lot of gpu hardware, hope it pants out for ya

J Macker,
Can you get 10ghash out of them?

I actually have 19x 7950s, just not all pictured and running yet. The 1x-16x adapters are being delivered today, but I have to reinstall Win7 on one of the baskets again, so I've got some work to do tonight. (That's why I'm not at 8.5 Gh/s right now).

Jzegers pool was a pain the past 3 days for me, but I switched some back over to see how it goes now.

But, once all running, I expect around ~11,000 kH/s without overclocking.

Getting close to 100 Mhash/s for Invasion Network. Been mining there myself for a little over a day now under ticeIMN, but only got a HD 5850 up and running so far. Prices have dropped a good bit since last night and are fluctuating quite a bit today so far. Also see that they added FeatherCoins (FTC) on BTCe which apparently alot of people are talking about, honestly can't keep track of all the new coins.

I dont know about you guys but both give-me-ltc and invasion was down last night.

Give me ltc said they were running but i dont think i got anything from my hashing last night. Hopefully they still need to be transfered to the new server....

Back on invasion though. Running fine.
