Seriously, AMD's behaving like apple... We never caught nVidia really gloating when they were dominating the HD2900s and 3800s.
"No doubt an AMD planted "viral" PR video"
This is only speculation at best.
It's a bit on the obnoxious side, I agree, and... wrong.
AMD/ATI got destroyed repeatedly during the G80/G92 era, and were in no way competitive on the high end, yet the first little hat has "8000" on it? If you're going to gloat, it helps to get the facts straight first.
Me, bitter? Just a touch. See, they told me PS 3.0 support wasn't important back when I bought the X800XT for god-awful amounts of money, and like an idiot I believed them. On the other hand, my twin 8800 GTXs continue to treat me well.
Maybe if it were made more clear that they're talking primarily about laptop chipsets? Instead, the "SLY" bridges obviously show desktop cards...
ATI/AMD, again, if you're going to do clever viral marketing obviously targeting the hardcore, high end demographic... have a few of us watch it prior to posting on YouTube and looking stupid.
Guess I'll have to update my sig...
I would laugh if last 3 of my video cards didn't fail on me.
GF7900GTO, lasted 6 months.
HD4870 512MB, lasted 1 month.
GF8800GTS 640MB, lasted 16 or 17 months I think.
Never had RAM, CPU or HDD fail, only one motherboard, couple a PSUs and optical drives have failed on me while 6 out of 13 video cards I have owned since year 2000 have failed on me.
Both manufacturers have a lot to improve on in reliability. ATI shouldn't be bragging too much especially with their drivers... Play games that aren't huge hyped titles and you'll run in to much more problems when using ATI because of their shitty drivers.
