FrozenCPU Shuts Its Doors

Feel like I dodged a major bullet. Was about to make a $500+ order from FrozenCPU shortly after the owner, Mark, said they were running on a skeleton crew (and before all the other news that it is probably going down for good). Long story short, I ended up purchasing from aquatuning.us instead, all thanks to them offering some coolant I needed at a much better price. They don't ship to APO so I have to cross-ship from the states, but that seems a lot better than having to deal with chargeback hell >_>
 
Mark was always a shrewd fella. We had many hours long conversations on the phone when we did business. He was a no nonsense guy.

I won't stake claim to the stuff about addiction yay or nay, I don't know that and I won't speculate. I do however hope that if things are going south, that he takes care of himself and the people that he's committed orders to, or returns their money / merchandise. He owes me nothing and I likewise have no commitment to him, but I talked to him enough on the phone back in the heyday to understand that he was a rather honest person on the surface. If addiction grabbed him by the short and curlies though, who knows what his demeanor is.

But I can say that I been there, its a lot of pride to swallow, your baby feels like its on fire and all you can do is stand and watch it burn.

The condition of the offices looks like a smash and grab robbery. I wonder if that was their last effort to try and make it appear that way for insurance purposes (not speculating, but I know that kind of stuff happens)

At this point... I'm not able to give any formal statement or explanation.
FROZEN CPU EMPLOYEES WERE NOT FIRED. THE ALL MADE A GROUP DECISION TO QUIT.
We are at the moment shut down-- because we can not survive without our employees. The Staff That We Had were Very Hardworking honest and talented individuals. We have extended our hand to each of them-- none of which returned any phone calls.
In saying that-- we need staff... if anyone is in need of a job... please contact me @ natashialin@gmail.com. ..
Mark will be making a formal statement later this week possibly early next week.
We apologize to all of our loyal customers that have been with us for years. We have operated this company for over a decade without any issues. We plan on picking up the pieces and moving on.. putting everything back in order.

Quite frankly, sounds like she threw the (former) employees under the bus, but that's just my opinion.
 
The guy went off the deep end and his wife is probably trying to salvage some security in their life. Lets just say for arguments sake her story is correct, what exactly would cause a bunch of employees to quit all together and not return to work? It would have to be pretty bad IMO, like someone threatening their life or slashing their pay and lets be honest the type of employees they would have would not be particularly marketable in any other place in the area so one would think they would want to try to make things work.

No. The Post-It notes are proof her story is not correct.
 
She should have left that part out about quit/firing. Less is better in this case. In either case the owner had to do something awful to produce current results.

Lots of questions this causes, but still good to hear something out of them. This sort of confirms what I was finding when I traveled there earlier in the week and posted that video. So I went ahead and sent them a contact email and my information since I don't have any pressing obligations. I figure this way I can see if I can assist them in getting FCPU back up and running and do something useful with my time for a while.

If you find yourself working for them, I hope you don't experience the same things the previous employees experienced.

Well to be fair, I'm probably not what one would consider as their typical employee material. It just "happens" that I'm not obligated to anything at the moment and some extra cash/chance to possibly help salvage a vital part of the community works out fine for me. Bear in mind I'm still extremely skeptical given where all current evidence points.

To be entirely fair it isn't difficult to fake one post like that if trying to slander someone. Now if there was a history of those posts then you have something, but one? Not exactly concrete evidence of anything there.
 
Yes, maybe, but apparently that user has 25 posts....and is active as far back as 2011. Odd way to slander someone...
 
Can we just lock this thread and unlock it when someone PMs a mod with proof they ordered something from FCPU and it got delivered recently?

Why? So we can be like OCN? I find it pointless to lock this thread. With it open, we can still chat about it, you know, like a forum?

Plus, its clear from people's pictures and such that they are not open right now, and no one knows if and when they will reopen

Because there's nothing left to discuss. Everyone has had their fill of two cents and speculation, open the thread back up when there's a real new development.

Couldn't agree more. The mods over at OCN seem a little too overzealous to be honest. I'm starting to like it over there less and less.

curiosity got the best of me and I actually registered to read the post history and it's clearly not slander

not that I care what she does or did in the past for work but this saga is bizarre to say the least

I think I read over at OCN on a thread that got posted about from the "Wife", they said Mark wasn't married, and the the user only recently like "FrozenCPU" on facebook about 6 hours before posting that.
 
You just can't make this kind of shit up.

At the jump I was interested in the future of Frozen, now the crazy speculation has made this better than fiction.

I just hope someone can resurrect the business.:D

She really shouldn't be making statements like that on the FCPU page. First of all, is she or is she not his wife. If she's not, that's lie #1. Secondly, how does she know that "they all quit"? Was she there? Did Mark tell her? Or is she making this up too? Lastly, if your name is associated with an escort service, don't post it up online regarding such a sensitive subject. In the modern age of information, someone's bound to get vetted and its looking grim as far as how factual her statement is. I would really like to hear a non BS response from Mark. Something official as far as to what's going on at FCPU..
