What the heck is this.Everything I drew is better than the default fans fractal torrent configuration.
The window is good when you put it outside,at least for me,I have an inwin 303 next to the table on the floor. The case is great from the outside, I can even buy an additional hard side without glass, solid, I even contacted inwin, but I gave up on the purchase. It was quite expensive with shipping from the Netherlands.I guess I'm one of the few who hates windowed cases...I always prefer solid side panels and little to no RGB bling...which is why I went with the full sized Torrent with solid side panel

The potato pc is in my desk so it can't even be seen from the side, only the front and back have access.
No window on mine but same. 1+ year with the best case I've ever owned, for a general purpose rig. Super easy assembly, maintenance, best air cooling performance. What the heck is this.
Anyway, I've had one for two years or so, best case I've ever owned.

No thanks, I prefer cool air being directed at my GPU. Without them it suffers. You people with torrent "should" remove these fans at the bottom, possibly leave one and put one on the rear.
That diagonal makes no sense if there's a GPU in the way. This is a recipe as a dust-magnet. The Torrent is inherently a positive airflow case. If you think this a better way, at least provide some temp measurements for convincing.Everything I drew is better than the default fans fractal torrent configuration.

I knew you would put that, that's why I put you people on purpose.
You're giving advice on a case you do not own?You "should" try it, I don't have that case.
What does that torrent have pwn for all fans? That's fine when they spin slowly.
It is possible that they also improved the dust filters.
tropic thunderI knew you would put that, that's why I put you people on purpose.
What movie is that from?
Without data to show of your own, “should try it” is not enough for me to take time to do it. Especially if it’s only a curiosity exercise for you who does not even have the case. However, I’m genuinely confused as to why you think this config would make any improvement to the default. You "should" try it, I don't have that case.

Is this true or not? TomshardwareI keep all the fans (default config) running really slow too. It's so much damn air anyway, even with low speeds. For a 7800 X3D and 4090 FE I have no need to spin them up that high, even in summer.
Are all default fans, five of them, 2x180mm, 3x140mm connected to this Nexus 9P Slim PWM fan hub?Of course it's true. And easy to verify when you do own the case.
I have mine connected to the hub for simplicity. You can, of course, also connect them to your motherboard directly given the right connections. I have my fans controlled by Fan Control in windows, I used to use ASUS FanExpert. So, Fans>Hub>Motherboard PWM. The case is already optimized for airflow in its default state. You don't need to overthink it by what you've shown in your diagrams. But, you should also not say what is best for it if you don't have the case yourself. Are all default fans, five of them, 2x180mm, 3x140mm connected to this Nexus 9P Slim PWM fan hub?
So what options do you have? Only PWN or are there low, high, etc.? Is it managed through a program or physically? Can each be regulated separately?
Complete opposite here. Even my two CPU cooler fans are all connected to that hub. One place on the board to control them, one fan curve (flat 40%) and it just works. Whatever works for you is best.I don't install all the fans to the Fan Hub...reason being that by doing that all the fans will run at the same speed...I'd rather have more fine control...so the 3 bottom fans I would connect to the Hub...and the 2 front 180mm and rear 140mm I would connect directly to the motherboard so each 'zone' can be controlled individually
How would that help? The power supply pulls in air from below, and there'll be a ton of power cables right there in most configurations. Unless your case is saturated with hot air due to poor airflow configuration, the air it gets shouldn't be hotter than 80-90f, which is well below safe operating temperature of a PSU.How do your power supplies behave, I guess they can withstand higher temperatures unlike other components?
It would be a little better if this part was also perforated.

completely fine since it has a big ass (visible) grill to breath through....How do your power supplies behave, I guess they can withstand higher temperatures unlike other components?

In theory.the top mounted PSU definitely presents some problems...as the PSU intake fan is taking in all the hot air from inside the case...they really should have made the top a mesh panel with blowhole fan mounts (like my current Fractal Design Meshify S2)
it isnt an issue. theres so much air moving it always has a fresh supply.the top mounted PSU definitely presents some problems...as the PSU intake fan is taking in all the hot air from inside the case...they really should have made the top a mesh panel with blowhole fan mounts (like my current Fractal Design Meshify S2)
Did you put the new configuration in the torrent?the top mounted PSU definitely presents some problems...as the PSU intake fan is taking in all the hot air from inside the case...they really should have made the top a mesh panel with blowhole fan mounts (like my current Fractal Design Meshify S2)
If normal configuration means 2 slot GPUs and smaller air coolers, then yes, Torrent compact is more suitable. I prefer a larger case for larger components eg my 4090 and NHD-15. Yes, you can do water cooling in the Torrent, but imo it's primary specialty is airflow for air cooling. That's why I went for it.But as far as I can see, for some normal configuration, torrent compact is the best, this torrent full is big, the best for e-atx boards, big air cpu coolers and big long gpu cards like rtx4080, 4090, 5090....
It's not optimal but it's not a problem. Honestly I think there is never any build where that will be an issue whatsoever.the top mounted PSU definitely presents some problems...as the PSU intake fan is taking in all the hot air from inside the case...they really should have made the top a mesh panel with blowhole fan mounts (like my current Fractal Design Meshify S2)
I really think this is pointless and a waste of money. The only thing I would of done is add a rear fan.the final parts for my new build will be arriving Wednesday...I bought the Torrent case but deciding on the fan layout took more time than the rest of the system...in the end I decided to replace the 2 front 180mm fans with 3 Noctua 140mm NF-A14 PWM fans (intake)...also replacing the bottom 140mm Fractal fans with 3 Noctua NF-A14 (intake)...and also adding 1 rear 140mm exhaust fan
hopefully the 3 fans at the bottom will not bump up against the bottom 140mm front intake...with my current Fractal Meshify S2 the bottom fans were a tight fit because of the PSU so I ended up not having any bottom intake fans and installed 2 exhaust fans at the top instead
