Since I didn't have access to the website at work, I copied this from OcUK's post. Thanks hanluc.

New season has started and along with it new rules.

The teams selected for the FB are divided into three divisions of 25 teams. The distribution of teams depends on the number of active members (RAC> 100) on each project.
Previously league assignments were based on RAC in November, now there is the factor of active members, this has demoted us to league 3, though I see this demotion as compliment being as we won league 2 last year with so few active members.

Also this year, in addition to the usual FB scoring (called marathons now) there will be a sprint discipline.

Marathons : each project is considered as a "Grand-Prix". The 10 best teams on each project get a fixed number of FB points.

Sprint : 20 events of 3-days throughout the year, according to the schedule of the Formula 1 championship. Each sprint will involve only one project. The chosen project will only be known 24 hours before the start of the sprint. The top 10 teams on each sprint are given a fixed number of FB points

Sprint projects with dates:

[H] is in League 3 this year. So, we went from winning League 2 to League 1 back down to League 3. I don't know if anyone has interest in this but they finally took some of the suggestions made and tried something different.

Shall we do a polling in this forum to see if there is enough interest in this? The Sprint project is a short challenge which is great. However you have to setup the rig 20 times a year since we don't know what project will run until a day before the event starts. Is bunkering allowed (at least for 24hrs) for the sprint event?

Considering that there are 9 PG challenges for the year, plus 20 for this, BOINC Pentathlon and a few others, might feel "challenge fatigue" and less focus on what we want to achieve as a team other than doing WCG or FAH. Just my opinion and I'll go with what the overall team members think. I don't have a good suggestion though, so perhaps I should just shut up

Well... the fatigue you speak of is one reason I stopped joining us to all the BOINCStats challenges as there was little interest. I only add the FB details as there may be someone with interest. I personally doubt there are many that will chime in, but if you are already running the projects, you are already helping. For example, if you were hitting personal goals like the 1 million point mark that a few of us have done, you could choose which one to do next by what helps our position. win win. Previous years those that looked at FB got discouraged because it was set up poorly. Not sure what this major overhaul will bring.

My goals right now are to finish hitting 1 million in all active projects and then work on projects with badges. I will hit the major challenges but not overly worried about the small ones. I will also be testing potential DC-Vault additions as I go as well.

I really wish you guys would get involved. Last year was one of the most fun years we've (OcUK) had as a team. We were in league 2 and had a great scrap with TSBT, it tailed off towards the end of the year but on the whole it was thoroughly enjoyable. We won league 2 but were demoted to league 3 along with yourselves under the new ranking system. TSBT sadly are not in our league this year and there seems to be little interest from any other team in our league. I know you guys are more than capable of making a good fight of it, but of course it comes down to interest.

Looks like we have made our way back to 3rd place again.

First sprint has been determined. It will be YoYo@home.

The next sprint is April 6th

Posted in the header at the top of the page

Leagues in 2018: The last three teams in leagues 1 and 2 will be respectively downgraded in leagues 2 and 3. The first three teams in leagues 2 and 3 will be respectively upgraded in leagues 1 and 2. The last three teams in league 3 will be replaced by new teams which want to participate to the competition. New teams must ask for integration in competition before november 30th. If there are more than 3 teams, teams will be participate in a sprint from december 8th 00:00 (UTC) to december 10th 23:59 (UTC). The first three teams will be integrated in league 3.

First day and we are currently in 12th. Work units are piling up for validation for many. This is certainly favoring those that were already running the project heavy.

Edit: Make that 11th place.

I'm having constipation. I'll unload when I go home tonite...

Felt good after unloading. We are now at 3rd spot but nothing else to give after this. Saw a couple of [H]ordes (not active in this DC forum AFAIK) contributing. If you read this, please do drop a line and just say "hello".

We finished 7th in the 2nd sprint event. I've about 40 pending validations at the end of the event which is not counted. Wrong strategy on my side. Should have downloaded about 2-3 days worth of WUs when I first started the project to minimize pending validation.

Here is the summary result of the first 2 sprint events thus far.

I don't know about other crunchers but if you want more help from me with these sprints/challenges or what ever you call them you need to make the info dead simple to find and not require me to search through a bunch of threads for the information. Make a sticky post and keep updating the first post with the minimum info needed to keep track and help.

Example:
Currently running sprint/challenge
project to run from date and time to date and time
Upcoming sprint/challenge
project to run from date and time to date and time

When a sprint/challenge is done delete it from the first post.

If you didn't notice I stopped running Einstein@Home when I reached 1st place. Just when some challenge started I guess. Didn't know. And just the other day I decided to try TN-Grid and stopped running WCG just when you wanted people running WCG. Sorry, didn't know.

It was a lot easier when I was running F@H and there was only the Chimp Challenge each year.

Well...these sprints are something new for Formula-BOINC. Formula-BOINC hasn't had our teams attention much as of yet. So, typically if you are looking for a simple spot to check in for challenge dates...you have it already. https://hardforum.com/threads/dc-challenges-2017.1921074/#post-1042725448 If you would like other challenges included, by all means say so and I will add them there as well. Just as Skillz did with asking for the WCG challenge just recently...

The team has only really been pushing the BOINC Pentathlon and the WCG Xmas Challenges. However recently we have started switching the x-mas challenge with the more popular WCG Birthday challenge. The others are more or less for those that want to constantly be doing one challenge or another. We have included the variety of challenges more to cater to those wanting to do their own thing. At some point in the year, they are more than likely going to find one of them to appeal to their goals.

Numberfields has been chosen as the next sprint project.

Luckily NixZiZ hits Numberfields pretty heavy. I would be contributing heavy to it if I weren't trying to hit my WCG SCC goal. And that has about 2 years of run time left to go.

Looks like we are in first at the moment in Numberfields.

Then next sprint should be announced this afternoon sometime

Woohoo... as we are already in a challenge until the 30th for WCG as is.

Well, that's a bonus. Bunkering is allowed here. FAAH1 is still the project to go.

Even without doing anything, we are still at number one (league 3)

Let see if we can win gold for the first time.

Not sure why it took them so long to update the medal winners, but we won gold for WCG.
Our total points will put us in 3rd and 6th place in respective higher leagues.
