Hey anyone looks good with a low pixel camera and low light ;) Seriously, I show up better in photos! Also, I bet you're not a giant like me! I'm 6'1" and it honestly scares a lot of guys away ;)

It's awful, I hate it! I don't even blame the guys out there who are shorter than me, but just can't bring themselves to date a girl taller than them. I had only one boyfriend who was shorter than me, and he really didn't care. The others were the same height or taller, and it was a big deal for them.. had I been a few inches taller, they would not have dated me.

Of course, not all guys are like this, I know. But I understand the ones out there who ARE bothered by it.. you can't help what you do and do not like, do and do not feel comfortable around heh. .. I just wish I was shorter. It's 'cuter' and more 'feminine' to be short as a female, and not over 6 feet tall! ;)

if a guys bothered by it then they obviously have some self confidence issues.. lol nothing wrong with dating a tall woman.. hell makes life easier not having to constantly grab stuff off the top shelf for them.. lol
 
Worst thing about short girls is you have to constantly keep your nose-hair in check. Whenever I bring my gf to my Mom's house(she is same height as me) she gets to be the one getting everything from the top shelves because my mom is 5'3"

Oh wow, 175 cm (5'9") is actually considered pretty tall for a girl! In cm I'm 185.42.. Both of us are tall enough to be supermodels technically ;)

I'm 5 cm taller than the average here (Netherlands), so it's not that dramatic.

I have been told before I should become a model, including by the photographers I have done shoots with so far :)

I wouldn't be able to qualify for America's Next Top Model, even though I'm pretty much as old as they will allow, because I don't think they allow models to walk down the runway with a cane.:D Well we don't need to be supermodels to be awesome :cool:

..Though I wouldn't mind being a supermodel, of course... :p

I hope to be getting on national TV this year, maybe with a few months already. I guess that's got to count for something :)
 
Got the dummy plugs in the mail today, and set everything up and have both cards folding right now! Yay!

My excitement was short lived though... Less than an hour ago, my cat that I've had since I was 10 died in front of me in our kitchen... I'm so depressed, I really don't even care about anything right now.. :(

that sucks.. but at least she/he lived a long and healthy life with you all this time..

His name was Rocky... The sweetest friendliest cat I've ever seen. He loved to be picked up, and he would put his paws around your neck and you could hug him and he would hug you back... He never growled or hissed once in his entire life..

I love having pets.. but it's just so hard dealing with the losses when they pass on :( We just lost his sister in July, a month before I lost my Grandpa [..and one of our birds, on the same day].. It's been a sad year for a lot of people :(

He looks like a real sweetheart there. It is always tough saying goodbye to those we love, and who have shown us love, especially our pets who seem to love us despite our faults. It is only right to grieve for your loss, but remember also how really fortunate you both were for having the time together that you have and in time smile for that fortune and your memories. :)

now if only all cats were like rocky.. but i know that feeling last year was a bad year for me as well with deaths family/animals..
 
Sorry to hear about your cat, Syribo. I lost a few cats myself and it's always a terrible moment. Our last cat simply vanished and was probably killed by the anti-cat (pro-bird) people in the neighbourhood of the place where I lived back then :(

*gives Syribo lots of cat huggles to compensate* :)
 
When I was 7 I was attacked (and dead for a short while) by a dog, tore me up pretty good. I got a dog for counseling and a cat about 3 months later. Needless to say Ive had a thing for cats over dogs since then :) . Dog didn't las more than a year before the next owner but Tiger stuck around for almost 14 years! It was great cuz he had a condition where he had to much skin, so before we got him surgery he had permanent puppy eyes face for like 2 years lol

I was so attached to him because I got him during the worst part of my life, so I feel for ya on the loss, but like they said, see the good in it and you'll be able to move on easier

My sincere condolences. :(

My cat is going on 18 years so I know he can go at any moment now. Even when you know it's going to happen, it's something you can never properly prepare for.
 
I had a bad incident with a pit bull which heavily turned me off from dogs.

Pitbull latched on to my calf and tore quite a bit of muscle and flesh from my leg, not pretty. Needless to say, I have 2 crazy cats now! :)

Okay so I've had everything running and folding for days now, can you guys tell me if you think these PPD numbers look right for my system(s)? :)

The two SMP clients are on the good PC, folding with my Q6600. The GPU clients are running on each of my 512MB 8800GTS GPUs. The fifth one is the client running on my old slow Dell.

And thank you for all your kind words <3 I miss my cat so much :( But we had so many good years together, he grew up with me.. so I have so many memories (And pictures AND videos!) to hold on to :)
 
SMP is not set up rite.

Just run one SMP client with the tags -smp -advmethods

That will get you the A3 cores that give you a nice bonus with the OC you have and are nice and stable.
 
I agree with Kendrak. You are running a P2611 WU and that appears to be a single core WU according to the current projects page. For your next WU, you will need to add the appropriate flags to your shortcut for that client as Kendrak posted above.

I'm actually still at stock speeds. When my Vista was corrupted a few weeks ago and I reformatted, I set everything back at stock and haven't touched it yet, oops! I'll probably OC my Q6600 tomorrow again, I miss having it at 3.4GHz :D

For now, should I still add the tags to the one SMP client? And... the tag, do I put it in the Target or Start in thing? .. I'm kind of confused still with some of this for some reason heh. What should the line with the flags look like? Not sure if the SMP client should be in the directory I even have it in.

The way I added the tags, I opened the shortcut and it said 4 Cores Detected, paused for a bit, then gave me an error.

Error running mpiexec.. etc. I'm sorry to sound stupid, but it's almost like I really DO need someone to hold my hand through this, I feel like such a noob ;)

Navigate to the F@H directory, run install.bat, and input your username and password. You should see a message that confirms MPI is running. If you do, then you can add the flags to the end of the Target box of the shortcut you use to run the client. Make sure the flags are present in every copy of the shortcut you use to launch the program (if you have a copy in your Startup folder, for example).

The Target line should look like this: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Folding@Home Windows SMP Client V1.01\Folding@homeSMP.exe" -smp -advmethods
