Which fps are you looking forward to more, Far Cry 3 or Crysis 3?

Personally I'm going to have to go with Farcry 3. FC3 will be open world and have more emergent gameplay opportunities. Graphically Crysis 3 will be more advanced but I feel the game world will be more alive and realistic in Farcry 3. Besides, tropical island > New York.

If Ubi learned their mistakes in Farcry 2 then I'm really looking forward to what Farcry 3 brings. It'll have a lengthy single player campaign, 4 player co-op campaign, and competitive multiplayer.

I won't be getting either. But if I had to choose, I would choose Crysis 3 over Far Cry 3, because I will not buy products from Ubisoft.

I didn't like the power suit in Crysis 1. FC3 looks to be very much more like my cup of tea. But I'll wait for the reviews.

That's like trying to choose between stomach flu and food poisoning.

lol - yeah, Ubisoft DRM on Steam vs an EA Origin-only download... which is the lesser evil? I voted FC3, but I will not be buying either of these any time near launch. When I can get either of them for $5 on Steam sale, the bullshit from these publishers will seem a little more tolerable.

Crysis 2 was a mildly amusing on-rails shooter with great graphics.

Far Cry 2 was an epic pile of steaming dog shit that after nearly 5 years of using STEAM made me look for their return policy for the first time.

I'm looking more forward to Crysis 3.

FarCry 3 actually looks like it could be decent. In this case, it's going to be a fine line between good and getting puke in your hair.

Great graphic?

I don't know about that... :p

See I don't get this critique. Did it have its issues? Sure, but I think objectively it could be said it had very good, if not great, graphics. At the time it came out, Metro, TW2 and...what...looked better?

Crysis 2 didn't really have "great graphics" until the DX-11 and High-Res Texture patches.

If FC3 is more like FC1 then I'll bite. FC2 sucked balls and I played it all the way through. Stupid stupid stupid things like I clear out a intersection and as soon as I drive away and it is out of view it is fully respawned. STUPID! It seemed like someone kept calling 1-800-BAD-GUYS and getting them put everywhere I just went!

I still replay the original FC once in a while the first several levels are just amazing to me.

Far Cry 3. I enjoyed the "open world" aspect of Far Cry 2. It was more open than the original (that I can remember) and was one of the first to actually do open-world first person. It got stale quick though. I'm hoping with a better storyline that they bring their A game to this one.

Both look extremely dull and generic.

To be honest. I like the idea of their unique storyline. But I wish they would do add a few more mechanics ..

Red Dead Redemption --> Good/Bad mechanic. Did you blow cover to save the village from massacre? Shoot the hostages to prove a point? If you're "bad" civilians may treat you different (lock their doors, etc), but you get an intimidation bonus towards enemies (they fear your ruthlessness). If you're "good" you may find health/refuge/ammo from locals.

Raven Shield --> Coma Rose for AI. Give us some buddies if we're not in co-op.

Heck. I'd take a open-world FPS set in World War 2 as a resistance fighter. That'd be pure badass if we had Europe to be our playground. It's a shame that no-one else is really tackling this genre - Rockstar has been innovating a bit with L.A. Noire / Red Dead for the 3rd person open-world and all we're getting for the 1st person open world is these made up storylines that don't really invoke any real emotional ties to the player.

AND not ONLY is it exactly what you asked for, but its also a bad ass game! Everything is done very well all the way around.

Have fun and thank me later!

That's like trying to choose between stomach flu and food poisoning.

Thank-you, I thought I was the only that can give two sh!ts about either of these games

Crysis series blows chunks, it is a poor tech engine demo at best. And FarCry is better than Crysis in gameplay, but still as fun as whacking off with sandpaper, I'll pass.

Farcry 2 was a turd.

This.

Well, I think that some parts of the game were cool such as the size of the map, the dynamic fire system, and the graphics were pretty good, but other than that nothing else is redeeming about Far Cry 2.

Far Cry 2 and Crysis 2 were mediocre...Far Cry 1 was awesome...Crysis 1 was enjoyable (didn't finish it myself but that's the general consensus.)

All these equate to a "wait and see" attitude from me.

Far Cry was a fantastic game. Never played FC2 as from everyone's descriptions it sounded like the type of game I would loathe.

I enjoyed both Crysis 1 and 2. I'll probably pick up Crysis 3 when it gets down to $30 or less. FC3 is a wait and see game.

I'll be buying Just Cause 3 instead. Just Cause 2 was everything that FarCry 2 needed to be and wasn't, and UbiSoft DRM is an automatic no.

Ill never buy another farcry game.
Farcry 1 was pretty fun for me, but farcry 2 literally made me cry from the $50 I lost. Such a shitty game.

Crysis 1 and warhead I liked quite a bit. Crysis 2 felt dumbed down to me and didnt kick my PC's ass like crysis 1 did. But I still beat crysis 2, it was okay at best. I enjoyed warhead alot more.
I might give Crysis 3 a chance, but fuck farcry. Never again.

I actually found Crysis 1 a reasonably boring game but with good graphics. Warhead I enjoyed a bit more and got into a bit more. I actually found Crysis 2 entertaining, not game of the year material or anything, but definitely enjoyable and though it didn't dominate my PC like Crysis 1 and didn't have the same replayability, but it was fun none the less.

Far Cry 2 was mostly just boring. I kinda liked the concept, but not the execution.

As far as Crysis 3 vs Far Cry 3... I dunno, still too far out to tell. I'm interested in both games (why is this not a poll option?????) but I'm not going to be racing out to buy either on day 1 unless I see something that really impresses me in either of them.

I remain quietly optimistic for both games. I find that's the best way to be with games these days, which I know is against the [H] mantra of "hate almost everything". :p

You literally cried over losing $50 on a game? Wow, I think you need to seek help :p

Crytek's original far cry 1 was a fantastic game and crysis still had a little bit of its magic in it. Crysis 2 had none of it and was garbage.

Ubisofts first attempt at far cry were the instincts/evolution games for the original xbox. They were actually pretty good and still be played like the original far cry while introducing the crysis like powers before crysis even existed. Far Cry 2 was horrible, trying to use stealth in that game was nearly impossible and the ai was atrocious and incredibly annoying.

My prediction is both games will suck horribly and devolve even more then they already have.

I have to agree...I'm sorry to all those that like it, but Crysis 2 was pretty much garbage.

Crysis 1 being one of my most liked game Crysis 2, despite the hi-res patches and what not was STRICTLY a CONSOLE port...and man did it show!

Crysis 3 however I feel will be MUCH better as I truly think that Crytek definitely learned their lesson with Crysis 2 and all the hate and disappointment it created. Crysis 3 will be a PC game first and foremost this time around, with the consoles getting the dumbed down version. This is almost a straight fact in my eyes.

Far Cry 3 I feel will be the same thing. Ubisoft KNOWS Far Cry 2 was a major flop, and because of this suckage thats never gone away I know for a fact that Far Cry 3 will be way above and beyond what Far Cry 2 could have ever imagined being. GRANTED I'm not positive it'll be better than the original Far Cry, but I certainly think it'll be the first Far Cry since the first one to be worth of the name.

Farcry 1 - amazing

Crysis 1 - amazing

Far Cry 3 - awful.

Crysis 3 - awful.

It should be noted as far as I know FC3 is going to be made by the same douchebags that made FC2 which was a critical and financial success. Basically Reviewers point blank lied. I'm sure I have the save game somewhere I can tell you exactly where reviewers wrapped up and called it done. Right about 45-60 minutes in the bottom drops out and you spend the rest of the game doing the same 3 missions over and over. the total is 100 missions not including a mountain of the same 3 side quests over and over.

I'm definitely looking forward to Crysis 3. I loved the 1st one and despite initial anger over 2, once I actually played it, I liked it a lot. Still prefer the 1st but the 2nd is a great game to just sit down and play anytime.

Far Cry 2 was kinda boring to me. I fire it up about once a year and try but can never make it more than about am hour into it before moving on to something else.

Not sure.

Crysis 1 and Warhead/Wars were the best Crysis/Far Cry game. I would say Crysis 2 and Far Cry 2 were next, with Far Cry 1 trailing further behind.

Crysis 1 was great. Fun, could play it different ways, came with a great MP, and allowed modding.

Far Cry 2 was rather good, except the story was only there for the last 10 minutes of the game, checkpoints respawned too quickly, and the mission for unlocking the weapons was always the same. If I want to be nitpicky, the weapons were horrible, but I expected that after playing Far Cry 1 and looking at the videos. Otherwise the game was great.

Crysis 2 was a nice game to play through, though it lost most of the things that made the first great. MP is worthless as well. For an action shooter it is better than most though.

Far Cry 1 was nice, large open maps in the beginning. But towards the end there were lots of indoor maps that were extremely dull. The game dragged on a bit getting repetitive in some parts. Story was worthless. Still a nice game.

Crysis 3 looks to be more like 2, and Far Cry 3 seems to be taking some steps back from FC2.

Action shooters tend to have you going from place A to place B killing things and pressing a button to do something. FC2 was no different.

Some missions had you flooding a valley, others had you be a gunner on a barge, others had you assassinate someone giving a speech atop of a bus, others had you fight your way through an outpost to get information from someone ect. There was a decent variety as far as your typical action shooter goes. I agree it could have been better, but it was a fun game to me. The atmosphere and environment was interesting and it never felt like I was in the same place (unlike many areas in FC1).

I can't really say I'm looking forward to either game, given the track record of the developers. They just can't seem to equal the original games. I'd love to see more open world FPS games, but I don't think they'll get it right judging from past efforts.

I couldn't get through the first hour of Far Cry 2...totally not what I was expecting after playing Far Cry

You literally cried over losing $50 on a game? Wow, I think you need to seek help :p

At least they can admit it! I see nothing wrong with it. People are emotional about their franchises they have grown to love. I can flat out tell you that if Half-life 3 was released today, and ended up being like farcry 2 or DNF I would shed a few tears of disapoint.
From what I understand, the original Farcry meant just as much to certain gamers as half-life series meant to me, or any other series for that matter. Real men cry. :)

Makes me wish all the great developers of the late ninetys would get together and just leave their ego's aside, and crank out a brand new game. The ultimate collaberation, it's something my gamer friends and I talk about often. But knowing the people I have in mind, it would either end up a cluster F or never get done due to boy band arguements. Yes I know, a pipe dream at best.

Sorry, not over video games they don't :p

I'm pretty sure it'd be overhyped and suck balls. :p

I also think people tend to look back at games and over inflate how good they actually were. The only games I've gone back to play again as an adult that I enjoyed again now as I did when I was a kid are the games that really weren't all that complicated or grand or anything.
