Fallout 4

You can always play with Steam in offline mode to prevent the game from being updated. Note that once you initiate the update process that you cannot play the game again until the update completes. If you have the GOG version then it's not an issue.

For sure, and set the game to "only update when I open" or whatever the steam option is these days. If using F4SE to run the game it should not update. Jist need to be diligent and not check for mod updates either.

I never played 1 or 2. Ive played 3, skipped new vegas and played 4. I enjoyed 3 and 4 and dont feel like i missed anything. Probably should try NV sometime.

I'm only on the second episode of the show, but do they explain who or what causes the nuclear Holocaust?

Was it the expected WW3 between the U.S. and USSR at the time? Or something else?

And if there were was nuclear war, wouldn't only the big cities and suburbs be destroyed, and not livable, but the rural areas and vast open nature parts of the country be untouched and somewhat ok?

Curious how this show and story plays out and I want to know how this ghoul character is alive for 220 years

Watch the whole show. It explains so much

Well if you haven't played new Vegas get on it now. I'm sad that Matthew Perry isn't around for the show because he would totally be a part of season two. The "message" is there for a split second but can be completely ignored. I want to play a fallout based on this show.

The show is insane!

Realizing that you have a new show to binge is a special kind of euphoria. A new OLED helps too!

I am sure there will at least be a user mod for fallout4, or maybe even a dlc. With the uptick of people playing, i feel like there is an opportunity there. Itll probably go to FO76 though :/

Nothing seriously wrong with 4, but there are just some things that really get on my nerves about the game and I had enough of it after 40-50 hours. Unfortunately, it took about 50 more hours to get all the achievements. I've been meaning to try another playthrough with a casual mindset going in, not needing to worry about the achievements, to see if it improves how I think of the game. Conversely, I enjoyed every hour of Fallout 3 and New Vegas it took me to get all the achievements in those two games.

everyone is saying do NV, but i just went straight to 4. so far so good.

I fired it back up, now i realize i should probably take it easy and let the update come through next week before going too far lol.

3 I got bored of and never finished actually maybe 20hours in? It as been a while so im not sure. Which did make me hesitate when 4 came out but ended up really having a fun time with it and am about to do my 3rd play through.

Do you always try to get all the achievements in stuff you play? That will quickly detract from enjoyment I've found.

this game is almost impossible to play anymore....I can't even rebind controls to what I want....I don't even know how I did this back in the day, I must have use some autohot key thing to do it.

Took me like 30 minuites just to figure out how to get it to run full screen with the res I wanted. well voer 100 hours in it and i can't be bothered now....

I'm having other issues. Because there is no tutorial about how to do basic things like get in or out of the suit or how to charge it or how to do any of the crafting in the game or building I have no idea how to play the game. I go through the key bindings menu and still can't figure it out. Now a days games are getting too complicated with no tutorial on how to play it. Cyberpunk is the same for me pretty complicated for games that should be simple to play. The keys binded to do things are just not clear.

Tap E to enter PA and hold it to exit. Hold Tab to turn on Pipboy light. Fusion cores are to power your PA, they are everywhere, just scavenge and you should never have to buy any.

Thank you very much. Although I use the Xbox controller. This game is too long for me to play with keyboard and mouse. What's the easiest way to figure out the Xbox controller binds?

Also I will come back to your tips to learn more, I appreciate it.

Show has brought players back and some new players. Several people at work who hadn't played any of the Fallout games have started playing 4.
They keep stopping by my office to talk about it. So now I want to play some Fallout, but I'm going to wait for the patch. Hopefully it doesn't break too many mods.
Wish they had gotten the patch out before the show.

there is a patch coming?

Also, is it still best to run this game with the FO4 script extender?

well whatever my other games run at i want this one to run at too. it totally ignores my frame cap and freesync isnt working. thats why i asked what he did to "fix it...
I know NVIDIA for some reason forces VRR off by default in their drivers for Bethesda games despite it working fine if you know about limiting the framerate. Maybe AMD is doing something similar in their drivers. Limiting the framerate with RTSS should still work.

amd control panel says its "on - amd optimized" still locks to 120, no vrr. it ignores both rtss' and amds global frame limiter, although i havent tried making a profile in rtss yet. getting the vrr working is more important than the limiter to me though.

I know it sounds counter intuitive, but I just let the game handle it, no caps, no frame limiters, just using it's own vsync. Now vrr I can't help you there.

Halloween Workshop

349cfca6d9827a038dadcbf3093cb60d2ce3c5b6.png

Leftover from an ill-fated Halloween party, thrown by the New England Technocrat Society, these 38 new Halloween decorations include witches, cauldrons, ghouls and more! Decorate for Halloween or make your settlements spooky all year round!"

Don't know about the script extender. Haven't looked at the game for a few years now. Figure I would wait for the patch next week and then hope moders get stuff fixed if they need to. Then start making my list.
