Fallout 4

I'm running all maxed on my 48" Samsung JS9000 with texture mods and with the new drivers, i'm pegged at 59.9 fps on my 980 ti SLI rig. Working great and looks very nice
You dont maintain 60 fps in parts of the cities with that cpu on maxed settings. Even my cpu drops me down to 50s and even mid 40s at times. It takes an oced 6700k and very fast ram to keep 60 fps and even then there are couple spots where it cant quite do it. The key is lowering that shadow distance size to medium and then no more drops.

I believe fusion cores count as ammo so if you take the perk that nets you more ammo, you'll find fusion cores plentiful. I've never take the power armor off and never been low on fusion cores.

Makes sense. They are in ammo section and Gattling Laser for example uses them for ammunition. And fast. If you want to feel the fusion cores being scarce use the gattling laser. :p

Currently working on my armor display and home in Sanctuary. Main outer house is complete with the exception of a few lights. Interior is a work in-progress.

How do you build those clean walls and floors, is this a mod? I can only build those rough wood and steel structures where every wall is ugly and full of holes. That's why I didn't even bother with building anything anywhere, it's just plain ugly no matter how I try.

Looks like a mod to me. Also for the armor stations, I have mine right up against a wall inside a huge structure I built on top of one of the sanctuary houses. That's weird that it won't let you do it. Looks really cool though

I'm betting he's using this but I'll wait for him to confirm: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1145/?

Correction: http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/1478/?

Some of the pictures in this match what he's doing. Hmmm.... decisions, decisions...

He might also be using this which I'm going to try because I've been getting annoyed with this issue:

http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/2683/? <- This is included now in that second link, the Homemaker mod.

I wonder if both Homemaker and that SSex (lol) mod can be used together?

EDIT: Yes they can. The directions for Homemaker even show ESM order if people are using both. Super!

Crossover patches for this, too. This is going to get out of hand fast. ;)

Is this really the best way to scrap guns? you need to dump them all on the ground, open workshop mode, and then scrap them individually?

Uh... no?

You go to a weapons workbench, select the weapon you want and press 'R'.

doh i didn't do that but they are all in my workshop that's why i took them all out and dumped them. i was saving them for when i got the scrounger perk.

When they're in the workshop, they're basically just in queue for if a part is needed and scrapped if it has one.

You can scrap them while inside the weapon crafting station by hitting R while they're selected(same with armor, in the armor station).

Not really sure it's worth it though. I think 99% of the time you're better off just selling the weapons and using that money to buy junk. E.g. a flamer only gets you 10 steel and 1 screw. And the steel is essentially worthless since you get so much from scrapping wrecked cars and light poles and shit. But it'll sell to a vendor for 85 caps, which would be enough to buy 10 fans, which would get you 20 steel, 20 screws, and 20 gears (IIRC).

Q-BZ got it right except I haven't used Simple Intersection as of yet though I do have it downloaded.

Homemaker + SSEx + patches + OCDecorator. Beautiful combination.

I'm hoping the authors of Hiomemaker or SSEx include the Institute sliding doors. If not, then I'm going to implement them on my own. I'd guess they probably will so I will wait and see before doing anything.

One thing that not everyone may know (and I wasn't sure it'd work until I tried it) is you can save your perk points and then spend them as if they were acquired at a higher level.

I.e. you can ding 38, not spend the point, then ding 39, then spend both points on level 39 perks (such as level 4 armorer and gun nut, which is what I did).

Using console commands you can remove/add any perks you want rank-by-rank. So even if you're level 100 you can completely change your SPECIAL & Perk distribution. Eventually I think we will get a UI Mod where you can simply right-click (for example) to remove SPECIAL and perks.

I'm so out of the hardware loop. To play this game decently at 4K what minimum graphics card is recommended? Currently I have a 2600k processor and I believe a 680gtx. Both stock clocked. I do NOT have a 4K monitor yet. I'm gaming on a dell 3007 currently. Looking to upgrade.

Edit. I don't plan on upgrading my processor. To time consuming.

If you are talking about a single GPU then at the very least you want a 290x or the nvidia equivalent for 4k. You'll want more gpu power than that. When it comes to 4k no one card will run a game at ultra settings. In fact, no two SLI or CF will run games at ultra. That's just how high the resolution is at 4k. If you decide you want a 4k monitor/tv consider running two GPUs or set yourself up to add a second gpu later on when prices drop some.

Wow. Get all of these mods and use the appropriate combo patches.

ProTip (for anyone who uses a keyboard and doesn't know this): To scrap items quickly, drop the batch of items on the ground (concrete or house foundation preferred), get into build mode, point at item, then press R then E. Rinse and repeat on other items.

Using these hot keys I am able to scrap a weapon. armor or junk item every 2 seconds.

That's the problem with mods, that's why I rarely if ever use mods. It's just too much hassle maintaining and setting them up to work correctly. If it's not one click installable then count me out. This combo patch business is already more than I wish to bother with mods.

That's not a protip, that's an amateur tip. It's already mentioned on the very last page that you can scrap weapons using one single key at a weapons workbench. And you don't need to scrap junk, as junk is automatically scrapped when it has some component that is needed for what you're crafting.

I haven't seen this place mentioned yet, or I missed it, Spectacle Island. It has a huge amount of building space. I felt most of the other settlements were very cramped and or filled with useless stuff in my way. This Island has a ton of empty space. I'm not an artist when it comes to designing my buildings but I'm sure some of you could do wonders with it.

Just use Nexus Mod Manager.

Can someone try to repo this for me? Everytime i jump on from the roof of CIT to that roof you see in the distance the game instantly crashes. no BOSD, no nohting...game is just 'gone'

Just go to ground level it isn't that building. You still have a few minutes of walking to do.

Wait, people aren't using the mod manager when using Nexus mods? Why? It completely automates the process and keeps mods organized.

No, because a 64-bit compatible version of Mod Organizer isn't available yet.

I'd rather install mods manually (like a boss) than use NMM.

Normally I would not use NMM to manage Fallout series mods. In the case of Fallout 4, NMM is currently the preferred utility to install mods. There is another mod manager which does this as equally well.

IIRC, it uses junk preferentially, but then will move on if the material or junk is not available. I am not at my computer or I would test it and verify.

actually it will not touch pre existing armor you need to scrap it. but you get so little even with the perks to get more it really is not worth it the only problem i have been having is copper and aluminum go to 6 vendors picking up 6 aluminum or maybe 4 copper from each on the rare occasion i can find a shipment that is 25... im about to use a console command to give myself the copper and aluminum...

What they should do is any legendary weapons can't be recycled and there should be a recycling bin or the salvage table should be a container that will salvage whatever is placed into it.

The mods that I posted.... NMM made that a piece of cake. NMM has come a long ways in terms of updates, features, and streamlining. I downloaded the right files, activated it, put the ESMs in the recommended order and all within a handful of minutes. It couldn't have been easier and more painless. Manual install isn't difficult, either. I just follow the instructions. If the modder recommends sticking to manual then that's what I do.

It is common knowledge that the majority of people everywhere do not take the time to read. There is nothing we can do about it. Nothing at all.

However, there are those who do not take the time to read who may find the tidbit of knowledge posted to prove invaluable as their 'quick fix', per say.

To say what I posted is an amateur tip technically is true to those who do not read the fine print. To others the tip is pro in their eyes.

So far the only problem I've had with NMM is that it doesn't save the plugins.txt file when you run the game (actually that's more of a FO4 issue). NMM updates it correctly but unless you set the file to be Read Only, it will reset on launch.

except there is a bug with the auto salvage system example say you need cloth you have 3 rolls of duct tape and a rug in your junk box you make your sleeping bag or we and it auto salvages the duct tape but the adhesive is not tallied and partially lost.
