Fallout 4

With all the stuff they were showing and talking about I was expecting them to say 2016. I still wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed.

Usually when they announce such a specific launch date we don't see slips ... we do sometimes see massive Day 1 patches though to keep the date fixed ... since they are tying the launch date to the Vault 111 distinction I don't think we need to worry about a slip

Funny how Doom looks exactly like all the other Dooms with slightly better graphics - monochromatic color paletter, crates crates everywhere, ultra fast speed + hopping everywhere, and its exactly what fans of the game want :) Any other game would be crucified.

After the trainwreck of Doom 3 I'm glad to see something that looks at least to get some of what made Doom fun.

thats the live stream, its just the after show.

You can roll back to earlier though, it looks like it recorded the whole thing. Unfortunately if I try to view above 480p it has some sort of error.

That said...Doom looks awesome, FO4 looks awesome. Might even preorder FO4 if there is a sweet CE.

Fallout 4 looks alright, though i would have liked to see a more in depth vats system. The one showed looked directly ripped from fallout 3.

Still don't get the F4 hype - is it because Fallout is such a respected series and people just want a new one? Its not the first or only open world RPG. The customization seems neat, but it really all comes down to the story and gameplay mechanics doesn't it?

I'm not buying the November 2015 release date...been burnt too many times with major games over the past year getting delayed numerous times (Witcher 3, The Division, Bloodborne, Arkham Knight)...

considering the team has done nothing since 11/11/11, i believe it. You know if you're less than 5 months away from completing such a huge open world project.

is there a way to run an ios emulator on PC? i know you can do android on PC

Story? If you are playing a Bethesda game for the story you're insane. Fallout 3 was really fucking good. This looks to be that plus a lot more stuff, an advancement of elements, etc.

The fun of the Bethseda Fallout games is similar to why TES games are loved by many, the exploration of the open world.

Bethseda games haven't really been games that "pushed" the envelope as far as Story goes, that's why Obsidian's Fallout: NV is considered a better story/characters.

They are best at building worls and letting you explore them.

It'd be nice if they just got new animators/used mocap (They were bragging years ago about having a mocap studio, why not use it???) and hire some good writers.

Why not partner with Obsidian to do the story/characters, Bethseda do the world building, etc. Would be perfect imo.

You come to the Fallout 4 thread to ask this :) ... like any open world universe it has its own history and mythology associated with it, as well as the iconic elements ... here are a few that come to mind:

- Fallout History (check out the Fallout history videos on YouTube ... there are about 40 or so ... there is a lot of back story for Fallout that lends itself to ongoing gameplay)

- Iconic elements (whether you are a fan of NukaCola, the PipBoy, or any of the other elements there are lots of icons to see ... like visiting old friends every time they release new versions)

- It is set in an apocalyptic world that isn't used much anymore ... with the death of the Cold War we don't see as much focus on nuclear war (everything is zombies now) ... this is a throwback to the cold war of the 50s

- Power Armor (one of the distinctive parts of the Fallout Universe it is just plain cool)

- depth of the world (FO3 had everything from zombies to aliens, mutants to Mad Max style survivors ... a little of everything)

- it is a Bethesda RPG ... for good or bad Bethesda makes a certain type of massive open world RPG ... if you are a fan you like what they do usually

- music (like Bioshock this is a series that depends on its effective use of period music)

- mods (the Bethesday player community produces thousands of mods for the various Bethesda titles that are moddable)

Those are a few I can think of

I WANT THAT PIP BOY EDITION. UK pre order page was taken down just now, but I need the US ONE. SOMEONE HAAAAAAAAAAAALP MAAAAH.

Ordered my Pip Boy edition. I never EVER ordered a collector's edition before, but this was just too good NOT to order. So stoked!

My god, look at all the stuff that comes with the Pip Boy edition.

So worth the $120 + tax.

Just a note: On the after show Todd Howard said that the screen on the current device is just a placeholder and not the final thing.

My god both doom 4 and fallout 4.....this holiday season is going to suck with me wanting games.

I wont be able to afford gifts!

Was there any confirmation regarding modding on the PC side? I can't get that excited otherwise.

Bethesda is one of the last companies I'd expect to remove mod support.

It isn't about the removal of mod support but whether or not they will reintroduce the concept of selling mods as that will completely change the dynamics of the mod scene from the current situation.

After watching the first teaser video a couple weeks ago it was hard to tell what gameplay would look like, but after watching the demos from today's E3 conference, damn... this is everything I was hoping for and more. The environments are a BIG upgrade from Fallout3, there are tons of nice little touches everywhere - just one example, in VATS how the boxes keep slowly moving so its more of a bullet time effect than in Fallout 3 where the enemy would just freeze as if you'd hit pause.

The new crafting also looks great, the base building looks like a blast. Just lots of little improvements, lots of big improvements. Can't wait. And I REALLY love that the gore is back! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OzV1GlDDlv8

I guess the Fallout Shelter is exclusive to Apple devices?

Can't find it on Android store.

My impression after reading several sites is that the Android version is coming later ... there is no indication how long but I am sure it will be before the launch of the PC game

Yeah I just preordered the Pipboy edition from Amazon ... can't wait for November :D

call me crazy, but after sleeping on this presentation, my gut tells me they are setting this up for some type of mmo

they've learned alot of the skyrim to eso transition..why not incorporate all they learned into a fallout to fallout online?

that crafting/building system looks a hell of alot more intricate for a mmo game than some single player game imho

and don't think of it in CURRENT mmo concepts/gameplay..it could very well become something different than the wow clones we have today...one guy I was listening to yesterday said his FIIRST thought was my god, I'd love to play with other people in this game

perhaps by 2018...and lets face it, the world is sick of wow and all its clones..EQ Next was suppose to be the next big/game changing mmo...maybe fallout online will be

just random musings

ESO has been a resounding failure so I doubt they will go that route again.
Maybe Zenimax has nothing better to do.

I think fallout eventually gets a multiplayer element. I have a feeling it will online co-op and maybe 8-12 player world before they go a full blown MMO. ESO not being a huge success, slows the progression of Fallout being an MMO IMO.

Suh-weet! Christmas comes early this year! :D

That expensive PIP-boy edition's first batch of preorders are already spoken for, at least at Amazon. Great Scott!

Like what I saw, ordered the pi-boy edition last night. Awesome how fast they sold out. should have bought an extra one to ebay it lol
