F@H desktop wallpapers

good job! a question -- how'd you make the original [H] graphic?

and, btw, i'll redo the one w/ the two ladies -- but only if someone actually wants me to, otherwise i'm not going to bother...is there a request? if not, so be it.
 
Thanks! How I made the [H] transparent to make the text go under it is (in Gimp):
layer->colors->invert
Filters->colors->color to alpha->select white
layer->colors->invert
and now you have an overlay. Put a black background behind it and you've got the original back. Put text under it and you get my version ;)

Here's how I'd make the glowy, fire-y text:
New Image
dump black
Render text (an appropriate height) [H] in white
Script-fu->alpha to logo->glowing hot
change mode on top layer to normal
Add layer of flames under [H]
Select by color the top [H] layer
Invert selection
New layer-> fill with black (this leaves an inverse outline of the [H])
Merge down (leaves flames in the outline)
Give up because it's too hard.

He did a great job, however he did it.

hmm... i could have sworn filefarmer.com was a 404 last night. now all my stuff is still there... wierd. still, time to look at a real host.

also, do you have that in something bigger? i don't feel like going downstairs to find out (and i don't know where to look)

i should probably just make my own. but w/e.

1680x1050 is my monitors native res. so that would be best. 1900x1200 probably wouldnt hurt either, incase someone here has one the of uber massive monitors.
 
Since when is 1680*1050 NOT massive??

Or maybe I'm just stuck in the small-CRT land of 1024*768 >.<

Okay 4 of the wallpaper's used....I'm glad I have more than 10 computers. Now I have custom wallpaper's for many of them. Keep the great paper coming :)
 
bump cause i got a new monitor. i have yet to try 1920x1440 on it... currently 1600x1200.

<3 20" CRT :D

currently have the [H] w/ text behind it on it.

i should put together one to have a different wallpaper on the other monitor - done it before, can do it again.
i'm invincible!

Hey, about the [H] w/ text behind it .... can we remove the text right under the [H]. It says "used of a penis". I have it on my desktop at work and clients
look at my desktop. I leave it up so I can advertise for our project. They always look at the big [H] and say "What's that??" Sorry if this sounds unreasonable.

wow... i never noticed that. easiest way would be to take the xcf and remake the bottom later (the text one)

gimp should do it w/ no problem.

i didn't do anything lower that 1024x768, but if you want 'em... make 'em. scale the XCF (here, and again, rename to xcf) to w/e you want.
