Are you BRAVE enough??????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
is the 1526 the i want to search for the bios?
anyon else notice when u run dxdiag it reads as 520 mb of video.
just wondering if it using the onboard and deidcated card ?
also does it do a sli type thing on games, or use the onboard for vista ?
Which is now true for any video card under Vista, even the 8800GTX will set system RAM aside for itself (although it won't steal it unless it's really needed).it uses both system and its own dedicated video memory

so you think going to xp will use both cards to the max ? or at least use the onboard for vista and the dedicated for games ?
An Everex staffer posted on their forums, that they might be selling these on Newegg (for the sale price) in the near future, possibly later this month.
where did you see that? I can't find it on their forums.
The forum link doesnt work.
Anyway I hope Newegg does get this because I am need of a laptop which can run some games
Backordered) If anyone is interested Provantage has a few of 7200.2 drives (120gb) these are the new drives with perpendicular recording. I do not know how they compare to the 7200.1 drives They come in 80, 100, 120, & 160gb, but only the 120 instock. http://www.provantage.com/seagate-st9120823as~7SEGH01X.htm .

It looks like all of the 7200.2s are sold out. Why don't they break open those lots of 25 and sell them individually?![]()
ohh... does that case allow for storing extra stuff with the Everex in there? I went with a leather briefcase instead of hardside because everything I read said 17" computers generally take up ALL the space in a 17" hard side case. If you can store mouse, power cord, etc in there I'll pick up a couple.
I look forward to reading your response!

Sorry I took so long to respond. Yes you can fit the Everex battery and cord and a mouse in the case, but not much of anything else. There is no room on the side so you have to place it on top of the notebook but there is enough space there. The case closes fine, no need to push down on it or anything.
I'm very happy with this purchase and I'd recommend it to anyone who needs something to carry around their laptop in. I don't use the locks and to be honest they're not exactly going to keep anyone out.
I added another 1GB A-Data 667 stick for a total of 2GB and the vista rating for RAM went to 5.4 and the performance increase is huge. You can get a corsair stick of 1GB for $25 after rebate now. Check sites like newegg.com, clubit.com, mwave.com, microcenter.com, chiefvalue.com, buy.com, etc.
3dMark06 score was a little over 2,100 which I think is pretty impressive for such an inexpensive machine. The 7600 is obviously a budget card but I play all games comfortably. I still prefer playing Counter-strike on a desktop with a CRT monitor though because I like 120hz+ refresh rate. LCDs just have too much of a blur. Even the latest 2ms ones.
Overall I love this machine and can't recommend it enough. Hopefully those of you who missed the Office Max sale will be able to pick one up from Newegg soon.
One more thing, everyone get ready for Hellgate: London it's going to be legendary! Pretty much Diablo III since most of Flagship Studios are ex-Blizzard employees that worked on Diablo II. ^^
