I thought conroe and sli mobos weren't out yet? I know that the 32 sli isn't a new mobo but i didn't know they were compatible

Stupac said:It's funny how people who buy the lower clock cpu and say it owns when they OC it compared to a higher end just to justify their purchase. When you can just OC the higher end cpu and own the OC'd lower end cpu.
gepetto said:I dont care if you can overclock your 6600. You can't tell the difference between 80 fps and 60 fps. By the time I will need a 6600 they will be $100 cheaper anyway. So you have a bigger E-dick; that may be your goal and I hope it makes you feel good. I know that I will be playing the same games at a non-discernable rate and I have $150 more money left in my wallet. 'Nuff said.
Donnie27 said:No. Folks with E6600 didn't have to overclock the FSB as high as the E6300 users have to. Some apps like the extra 2MB of cache as well. That's why on Anand's review the 2.4GHz E6600 was faster at stock than the E6300 at a 2.56 or where ever Anand had theirs set.
Take 3.6GHz for example. E6600 with a 9 X multiplier reaches that speed at 400MHz, E6300 needs 450MHz. For 4GHz, E6300 would need to reach 500MHz FSB. That's 445MHz for the 9X of the E6600.
I want an easy 3.3 to 3.5 with mine, even if it overclocks more. I want to avoid the added heat and voltage on not only the CPU but the Motherboard's chipset as well.
PureBooYah said:IMO.....sounds like you're just trying to justify why you bought a e6300 over a better cpu. you can't use that argument about FPS because then why didn't you just buy a 805 or 920 P-D and overclock those. You'd save even more money and still be around playable FPS. And then people have different budget's when it comes to computer parts. So to some, buying a 6800 isn't a problem and they're not looking to save the extra money by buying a 6300.
You can say you bought the best price/performance ratio cpu out right now, but to act like you and you're cpu are better than people who spend more and have the money to spend more isn't right. And to me you just come of as someone trying to justify why you didn't go with a 4mb cache cpu and arguing with anyone else who says you're wrong about the 6300. (i've done the whole justifying a purchase thing before)
Viper87227 said:Wrong. 6600 = 9x, 6400 = 8x, 6300 = 7x. For 4Ghz, the E6300 would neeed 572 FSB. I dont think there is any board now, and probably wont ever be many capable of that. 500fsb, which the gigabytes seem to do for the most part, requires 500fsb, but thats probably the best your going to see out of a 6300.

Core 2 Extreme said:agreed Stupac, after i oc my x6800 to 5ghz it will completely destroy ur 6300, so dont say 6300 owns you cuz your just being dumb by saying that, and I will still have more money left over in my wallet cuz not everyone is as poor as you gepetto

gepetto what is your problem thast you go around crapping all the E6600 and up threads?
mmmm sounds like a tasty chipCCUABIDExORxDIE said:got ln2 or a cascade?? cause thats not happening without either of those. if you get 5ghz, ill eat my 4200+, without ketchup.
some people go into fight or flight mode when other people can obtain things that they cant. he obviously goes into fight mode when he sees people who can easily afford a e6600 or higher, because it seems like he cant.
Why not 10x347 or 9x385? I would assume mem speed helps out some on intel with right timings.SixFootDuo said:Running my E6800 @ 3.47GHz

i am this >< close to making a comment about your "no difference in gaming", but I really don't want to bring last week back into the spotlight.gepetto said:People are getting mad overclocks out of these. Regardless, I would consider buying a 6300 at the moment moreso than a higher-end model, since I am on a budget!

Show me a e6300 that can do this.
