Dishonored 2 E3 gameplay teaser reveals new powers, casual time-travel...
I'm looking forward to Dishonored 2 but not that excited.
All fine and good. As much as I enjoyed the first Dishonored, it was no where near the level that Deus Ex gave me. That's just me though.I am. Having this and a new Deus Ex game in the same year is a great news for me.

Also not sure I like the whole voice acting thing too much. I never liked the silent protag that Corvo was, but iunno. Feels a bit weird to go out of it. A little, at least.
I played both DX:HR and Dishonored to death. I played both of them in similar fashions (100% non-lethal stealth, 100% all-out killing machine, and a mix of the two) and Dishonored was a lot more fluid. Adam Jensen felt very much like a tank - I could never get as mobile as I wanted to. Corvo/Daud both felt fluid and you could use sprint/blink/slide to cut through a map in no time. It looks like they threw in a lot more things (check out that ability/weapon wheel) but some may be overly gimmicky... too early to tell. DX:MD seems to make it easier to traverse the environment but for the most part Jensen's character is still going to be trudging through the levels.Agreed.
To be more specific: I, too, considered DX superior to the first Dishonored and I'll be surprised if that trend doesn't hold. Quirks and all, I just liked Dishonored a lot for what it was...I'm just big into any of these types of games. Heck, I liked that Thief reboot that was done not too long ago. It wasn't perfect but it did some things right.

Yeah... I do think they tried to make DX:MD a bit more fluid but I'm not sold. The third-person camera shift when you go into cover was a bit jarring (and still is), as is the way they showed off the Icarus dash or whatever it's called.Imagine if you mixed the best qualities of both games.![]()

Yeah Bethesda the publisher is different from Bethesda as the main dev studio.Personally, I would've liked it if MD had 3r person like MassEffect/Gears of War did theirs but I'm not 100 % sure if it would work well. That said I didn't mind the way they did it in HR. The motion isn't as fluid as Dishonored but it was at a level that I wouldn't complain.
Thinking about that... actually, isn't it weird as shit, that Bethesda is known for shittily programmed game but then did a damn good job with Dishonored and Doom? I know i wasn't the same team/devs but still.
Playing as Daud was great fun and the twist on the powers was worth it alone. Blink/freeze-time was great and once you got used to it, going back to Corvo felt strange.I just finished up Brigemore Witches two weeks ago was a pretty decent DLC
I'm interested to see how they handle making Corvo talk. It's a big flip from silent protagonist to a chatty Kathy![]()
I might've agreed more if it weren't for the fact that I watched speed runs for it. While, there are definitely glitches exploited, but there is also a lot of just using the different paths given to you that I didn't really even think about. Of course, it 's not the greatest game in the world, but it was definitely a pretty damn good game.I liked the first game but thought it was a bit over-rated...the art style was probably my favorite part...this looks better so I'm hoping they refined and improved the gameplay...
I can't wait for this game actually. Something about the way that Arkane handles first person melee combat just feels good. Their stealth isn't bad either, but they do the combat very well. Dark Messiah had good melee combat too. They're a good studio. One of the reasons that unlike everyone else, I'm looking forward to the new Prey. It may not have anything to do with the old one, which is a little sad, but I know they'll make a good game out of it either way.
As far as the comparison to Deus Ex here. There is more than enough room for both, and they come out months apart. I like the pseudo period-piece style of Dishonored, but I'm also a huge Cyberpunk fan. They are two very different things, so other than stealth mechanics, and being action/fps/rpgs, they're pretty different. Definitely wouldn't want to deprive myself of one or the other.
