Yeah I never used monster power and cruised right into inferno with pretty much no problems. But if you want to challenge yourself MP is the way to go.

I really didn't expect to die to it, although I was pretty sure I wasn't going to get hit by it. I think I had like 3k armor, 300ish fire (was my low, others were around 400) and 35k hp.

I don't mind dieing so much, but leveling sucks lol

no kidding. I have been through this game far too many times for sanity.

I have all 5 classes above paragon 10 in SC

and have had 6 or 7 HC deaths.....The last thing I want to do is go from level 1 to 60 again.......getting to level 1 to 20 seems to be the worst for me...no skills no speed no nothing.

One of those fire spells is considered Physical damage and not Fire damage. I only fire the game up to see what they added for a patch and then take another break so I could be completely wrong. :)
 
spent all my money buying recipes and some crafting material, down to $71k, lol

yeah, my HC WD

I only had enough money and materials to craft one set of gloves after i went through about 5 crafts for bracers to get of decent set of vit bracers, and those are what i crafted, lol
 
sold something in AH, used the money to craft an amulet, 1st try.. (HC)

So this is a good time to deviate and tell a story of an ex-girlfriend of mine from college. We were dating when Facebook opened up to our college, so naturally we were happy to get on Facebook and post to the world "in a relationship". A few months later, we broke up, and boy was it ugly. Lines were drawn, friends chose sides, and a lot of shit was posted on Facebook.

I'll admit, I deserved most of the crap thrown at me, I couldn't wait for it to blow over. Time went on and my wall finally started being a happy place again. I started dating someone else and the same day my relationship status changed, my ex started shitting all over my profile again. That relationship didn't past long for whatever reason, and when I went back to "single" the shit just kept coming from my first ex. This was already months after the initial break up, I'd figure she was over it by then. Apparently not. It was almost like she followed my every move on Facebook just to shit on my wall when things were looking good or bad for me.

So sometime later she posted on my wall about some other boyfriend she met and how he's better than me in every way, blah blah blah. I never met him, but at least he was a stand up guy to not be one of those guys that had to shit on my wall too.

Things quieted down from her after that for the most part. But even past a year after the breakup she still would jab at me if I posted a comment that was visible through a mutual friend. I used to ask my friends who would get those comments what they thought, and we all agreed that it was pretty pathetic. It's been over a year, she just needed to get over it and move on.

That was years ago, but I'm sure many people can relate to a story like it.


Anyways, I'm gonna try out XIV beta this weekend, but next week I'm gonna gear up for act2+ inferno and try to finish it off next weekend if anyone wants to join
 
Well I decided to give HC a shot again after a long hiatus. If there is anyone doing HC and want to add me, please do: Kryptorchi#1798
 
I'm in the beta for the battle.net desktop app. It's a pretty simple app, but it's very simple and well designed. It finds your battle.net games and aggregates them into a single launcher, so WoW(which my account isnt active), SC2, and D3 all have the same launcher. Once you sign on with an authenticator (one time), you can launch any game without having to log in again. Launching from the app goes straight to authenticating the account.

So it's bascially like a steam client for the bnet games. The upside is that it isn't required, so those that only play say D3 or SC2 can just launch the game and log in normally.

How do you get into the beta? I'm opted in for Hearthstone, Diablo, Warcraft & Starcraft, but don't see an option anywhere for this...
 
OMG!!! I just lost my lvl 59 demon hunter. Act 4 Hell. Everything was going fine. It was fairly easy, but then I hit a pack of extra health elites, then as I was moving away from them I hit another pack of elites, and then boom, one of those purple named enemies. I ended up surrounded on all sides without enough discipline for smoke screen. Bah! I was actually right next to the entrance to the next section of level, but I had to talking to Tyrael before it would open. Man, I don't know if I have it in me to play HC anymore.

rough beats. You should try a monk if you try it again. You can tempest rush out of danger and into danger with the quickness.

If you use this build its pretty damn safe.

Not sure, I just got an email saying I'm selected for the beta, and sure enough it was in my bnet account settings.

Perhaps I'm being watched...............

I'll consider that. I just lost my level 12 demon hunter. All of a sudden my system froze for 10 seconds or so and when it came back I was dead. Again. I think I am officially done with hardcore. This is just ridiculous.
 
After reading this thread I thought I would try a HC guy out. Same deal happened. Lagged for about 5 seconds then came back and was dead. Weak....
 
Still thinking about getting back into this game after playing it only for two weeks at release. Is there any sense of community in this game or do people mostly just play by themselves and farm?

That's not true at all. Not only do you get bonus exp/gf/mf for grouping with others now, you should kill things faster because the bonus hp for multiple players isn't much anymore.

I much prefer to play with other people. I mean, it used to be that extra players would increase the difficulty so much that you might start dying if someone joined your game. Unless I'm farming I find it to be much more enjoyable to play with other people.

Unfortunately I've had to join public games since none of my real life friends have been online for at least 6 months.
 
I was actually starting to get some gold on Hardcore (was up to almost 4m) but last night I said screw it and spent 1.7m on a 750ish dps weapon for level 44. I figure, as long as I don't do something dumb from 44 to 60 that weapon is a permanent leveling weapon. I'm bound to die again, might as well.

I find that getting High Vit and High Life on hit make for the best leveling weapons. They help you not die significantly.
 
I recently joined a d3 clan and its made the game alot more fun for me. There are usually multiple people to farm with and we hold different events every week. 2 weeks ago we had a legendary competition in teams of 2 and the team that won won all of the legendary's. There was something like 36 people that participated and it lasted for 4 hours so you can imagine how many legendary's the winners walked away with. I have an 840 dps lvl 51 Mace with 433 LOH and 2.2 LS that I had drop before my last WD died. It was what kind of made me hesitate on buying the level 44 weapon, but I figure the level 44 one will get me through Nightmare, and the 51 through Hell
 
Wow, servers are down again. "Emergency maintenance" I'm kind of surprised by how often this seems to happen. I mean, I played this game for a month when it was released, then took a break until this month. There are still huge server lag issues and they still seem to take the servers offline every few days.
 
I've been playing regularly the past few weeks and have never ran into a maintenance problem. I also work from 6 -4, though. So maybe they're only down during the day.

It has been pretty smooth overall but this previous month has been riddled with issues...pretty strange considering how long it has been out and the user base is likely at its smallest point.

I'm guessing its a server cluster issue or something along those lines.

I just wonder: is it so hard to write solid netcode?

Why are both PoE and D3 plagued with rubberbanding/synching issues?

And neither of them offer LAN play, which is what i'd be doing if it were available.

No clue....but I had a worst rubber band / Lag I have ever had a few days ago. Literally threw me about 10 screens back where I laid dead at least 15 seconds.

I couldn't do LAN but it would be nice to be able to Host a game as I have 70 MB down and 20 MB up and usually can play the entire session.
