I'm at 263K dps right now with 33.3K health, 6000 armor and 600+ all res. Think I'm gonna give up some dps for more all res/armor and health...I can tank elites in MP2 but the elites with RD damage still give me a little trouble in MP3.

Its hard for me to gauge where my luck is. I do find quite a few good items in both HC and SC but I also put a lot of time into this game. I think I'm at 1500 hours now.

Based on other peoples grips I'd say I'm lucky but there is no real way for me to tell.

I have been trying to build duel wield that matches LS Skorn.....I just can't find one at a reasonable price (300 million per weapon). LS Skorn is amazing.

Holy crap, good call...I forgot I had a LS wand in my arsenal. Put that on, which dropped my dps to 226K but now I can tank elites, even RD ones in MP3.
 
lol, I just gave monster power 10 a try. It's an epic battle just to kill zombies in Act 1. I did get a set pants from one of the first zombies I killed, but I don't think that I have the patience to keep doing it. Plus I would get raped by the first elite that I encountered.
 
Weird, after never having D3 crash on me, I suddenly cannot clear the Vault of the Assassin without the game freezing and then giving me a "Diablo III has stopped working" error. Luckily the two times it happened there were no enemies around but that place is packed and I'm playing HC.

Decided to try my SC character after a system restart to see if I could recreate the issue and indeed I could. Now I don't know what to do, because I can't progress in the game without clearing the VOTA, but I can't keep risking my character.

Try minimizing all the graphics and change windowed/full screen changes and see of that helps. I'll see if I can recreate it when I get home.

I had changed a few Nvidia CP settings recently to force 120 FPS, but reverting those didn't eliminate the problem.

I disabled SLI and so far have done 4 runs without issue...I think I'll do one more and then try my HC character again. *crosses fingers*
 
This is where team play can definately help. Stick together and make sure stuff is cleared. One goes down, at least another is there to clean up and protect.

Good luck....I lost a character recently to game crash...if it happens again I am all ready to unplug the world.

At least there was only one little bug around me the first time it happened, and nothing the second time. I have been cheesing my way through the game just trying to get back to 60, and it probably helped that I've got decent gear and had begun using Inspiring Presence recently (regen).

How long does my char stay in the game "waiting" to logout? 10 seconds? Does unplugging anything even help that?

If anyone is looking for someone to play with my battletag is Aix#1131. My friends list is usually pretty much empty except for one guy, and he isn't trying HC yet, so I'm usually playing alone.

The timer says 10 seconds but it's more like 16 before the server recognizes that you're DC'ed and kicks you out of the game.

Unplugging makes the situation worse (or at least as bad) by not dropping you from the game at the 10 second limit.

The safest (quickest) is to run a second, windowed client and log in with it when you get DC'ed from the first client.
 
Well so far so good: I completed the rest of A2 plus A3 and A4 without issue. I never had a problem with having SLI enabled in the past but maybe a recent update did something.

Rather amusing getting a reduced level requirement 2hander and then just sprinting/charging through huge packs, haha! Up to lvl 51 now.

lol that's what I told him, near perfect role on the stats including probably a near perfect role on the reduced level requirements. If only that was a socket.
 
So despite my misgivings I started a new HC barbarian yesterday. Just for kicks I set monster power to 10. I have almost died so many times. At some point I'm going to have to reduce monster power or else I will be killed. It's pretty funny how much more xp you get. I'm level 22 and I'm only maybe 1/3 of the way through Act 2.

I just got 26 and I am almost done with ACT III, so that is pretty much an insane amount more.

Trying to save up some monies to get better gems. Limited by perfect squares atm. :(

edit: just got diablo (woohoo) @ 30. Im curious what MP10 will get you... though act 4 was close...I almost died to El Diablo as it was. Didn't really back farm at all, though I think I will before starting Nightmare.

Wow, I'm at 28 and I just finished light the beacons in Act 3.

It's getting really scary though. I do a lot of damage, but so do they. All it would take is getting frozen by an elite and I could be dead. I might have to back off the monster power pretty soon.

You're set up to have level 35-36 by the end of normal :eek:
 
Found a Puzzle ring today, I'm on a roll lately finding peices I am making money on in HC.

I'm level 49 with almost 1.5mill in gold.

I saw all those unid and thought they were your HC char at first I almost had a heart attack.

I've been busy watching a lot of professional training videos, so I've been reduced to farming leorics signet on normal for safety. Pop a tutorial video on one screen, VoTA normal runs on another. 10 legendarys in, no ring yet.
 
Wow, that knife at the previous page is crazy, level 18 reduction, I didn't even know they could get that high. Nice.

Finished yesterday leveling a new character. Started a few days ago a (softcore) Witch Doctor. A lot of fun to play but it may take awhile before I get the hang of it. I now wish I had started playing this class sooner. But its looks and strange spells held me back all that time. (Stupid reason, I know)


I was able to upgrade my WD more than I first planned. Sold a Skorn, Vile Ward and two amulets for almost 950 million total around the time the WD reached 60. Thanks to that I could buy a new Amulet (Tal rasha's Allegiance) which increased DPS with 10k, as well as replacing some other stuff.

I wouldn't be surprised if I'd used up all my luck for a long time to come.

Well, I'm a few levels away from Paragon 100 with my monk, but needed to clean up inventory, so I was crafting items for my wizard, who will probably be my next character to play. Anyway, after countless tries never getting a good ring for my monk, I decided to make a ring for my Templar, as I don't really care what the stats are (more just for bonus XP).

First attempt:

Had my first near death experience on my barb yesterday, in A3 of nightmare. No idea how i lived but my health was well below 300/30k-ish. Stupid overconfidence...lept into a bunch of whites at the very beginning of the Siegebreaker quest or so I thought. There were also 2 champ packs both frozen/arcane. I was frozen 3 straight times before i managed to run away, split them up, and kill them. After the 3rd time I thought for sure I was dead, but luckily I got rend off in time to give me back some life after the freeze wore off and then lept back out. Talk about getting your adrenaline going.

That was also right after I took off Wrath of the Berserker from my bar because I was trying out different skills. Never again.

yep changing skills is the most dangerous thing you can do in Hardcore... that's how I lost my level 58 wizard.

Wow, that sounds very intense. No how matter how long you play this game, it still can give you some very unpleasant surprises. Good to know your character survived.

I've been playing a bit with my second char. (Witch Doctor - softcore) It's a lot of fun to use but the difference with the Monk is like night and day. Even though I leveled him to Inferno I still don't have a good feeling of the skills, making for some clumsy playstyle on my part. Made a short video as I also wanted to try out some different settings with Bandicam.
