What other Wizard specs are good for a Scorn? I'm getting bored of meteor, but have been meteor so long it feels like the only good one lol (i tried arcane orb once and it felt awful compared to meteor)

Also, what do you guys do with all your shitty hellfire rings?

Akon and Meteor are the main ones that benefit from 2-hander. Its also good for Hydra-Blizard kite builds but not much reason to Kite anymore.

Arcane orb used to be really good but the buffed pretty much every spell but this one. Magic Missile does 125% and orb does 175% not too much difference. If your doing Higher MP level a Charged Blast, Hydra, Blizzard build wouldn't be too bad....But will play similar to Meteor so it won't feel that different.

I have about a half a page of Rings. They do nothing as of now, but I'm saving them with the hopes they do something later.

Are there any sites which report build diversity? I have a feeling it's pretty narrow. (I haven't seen many wizards to compare, but every barb and monk i play with have very similar spells they're using. Oh and witch doctors.

What spells would benefit from a MH/OH set up? I could always switch back to that and a triumvinate (or whatever it's called)

Yep. Link right to the wizard. For build diversity Wizard seems to be the better classes...Monk looks to be the worst.

Got my first big money drop last night: 300dex 70vit Vile Ward. Sold for 520mil in trade chat pretty much immediately. I maybe could have gotten more thought the AH, but that 15% fee really kills.

I also FINALLY got a crit chance Hellfire, with a bonus of 7AS. The carrot is strong once again....

Damn--crit and IAS? Sexy. My second ring had 4.5% crit, and yep i'm still wearing it.

Also, my buddies and i decided--if PvP ends up on an expansion's features list, we're done with blizz. I try to be patient, so I'll wait for it--but making us buy it will be the last straw.

I'm still pretty butthurt about their blatant disregard for their community. I feel as if blizzard just pulled down their pants and took a shit in my mouth.

Has nothing to do with chat, which is turned off. I'm referring to the 20+ daily friend requests from some dink affiliated with www.diablo3walmart.(you will die if I find you)com

Very annoying

I agree. They should at least put your friends at the top of the list and the requests at the bottom. I stopped reporting/denying them long ago, just too many.

Of all the things the Diablo 3 team should be working on I'd put blocked unwanted gold spammer request and the very bottom.

They just announced their PVP arena will be scrapped meaning they are either A not having a PVP arena or B they are starting over from scratch. Either way every D3 Developer should be working on this.

No argument from me. Realistically though, they're not going to try any harder to push out PVP, no matter how much their community cries about it. That's why me and my friends drew a line. If blizz tries to sell us pvp, we say 'fuck you.'

Comparing the development and patch releases of PoE to this, is feels as if D3 developers work one day a week.

Don't know too much about PoE but I would say that D3 team sure don't have a lot to show for what they are doing. I'm guessing because they are failing. They put 3 weeks of work into something that never see's the light of day. That or they really only have a couple of people working on this shit and the rest are working on the expansion pack / Console port.

Blame it on the project leads and producers. They are the one's who set development direction and goals. My guess is there is a cluster**** mis-direction and contradicting opinions in that set of "leaders."
IE:
"Let's do this!"
- No people actually discuss or agree in detail what is needed to be done. Actual programmers attempt to achieve un-defined goals. Bring product to leaders.
"This isn't what we wanted at all!"
- Throw work out. Start again.

Sounds plausible, just based on their change of stance.

At launch: "PVP isn't done yet, but when it does come out it'll be a side-thing with no regards to balance or sustainability"

Latest blog post: "We're scrapping what PVP we have done because it's not balanced and has no sustainability"

they wised up a bit since launch. If they released a slightly unbalanced PVP it wouldn't be a big deal all classes (except the witch doctor) would get a fair amount of play despite the unbalance. This is probably what they were expecting a slight imbalance for which they wouldn't care about. What they likely got was a HUGE imbalance which would destroy every class but the single most powerful class. Left with the options of destroying the entire class system or admitting defeat they choice correctly with defeat.

Kind of like people who say "I don't mind snow" Until the snow cuts their power out...then they mind snow.

A huge disappointment for everyone but the mob mentality haters who titter at their failure.

That has to be it. It's reminiscent of BF3's support: "AAA" release and fans expecting support that would reflect a dev/publisher with ample resources. Instead, we waited months for meaningful updates yet got plenty of news releases about all the great upcoming paid DLC they'd been working on. They even announced after 5 months that they'd only had 2 guys working on their server client "here and there", and that they wouldn't be updating it anymore in any significant way (features, etc).

So seeing as how these corporate studios operate, it wouldn't surprise me at all if it was a skeleton crew working on D3 while the main crew was shuffled as needed to other projects, be they D3 exp or otherwise. It's the whole dollars-and-cents focus while at the same time having multiple tiers of oversight (to manage all the dollars and cents, naturally). We can expect PVP when it makes the most financial sense for Blizzard, more than likely (like right before they announce an expac); they already got us to pay for the game on name alone, after all.

I sold my account months ago, but I don't see them releasing PvP any time soon.

Why would they? PvP will likely only bring back previous players and not sell a bunch of new copies. I bet it doesn't come until the expansion when they can make some money off it.

There will be no real PvP at this point. Now that Blizzard has finally realized that it basically wasted huge amounts of time and hype .. its backing out of it which I believe is the right thing to do.

As a Diablo purest I don't think the game would end up any better with a team deathmatch style PvP mode. I think Diablo's single strongest point is its single player / co-op gameplay.

And to state again , I don't think Blizzard understands how to balance a game for PvP ..honestly. I think they've done their best with Starcraft 2 so far but PvP in WoW is dismal compared to what it could have been.

The Diablo series already has enough issues to deal with. I honestly didn't enjoy the prospect of having to buy two different sets of high end armor or spend ages farming it , just to PvP. I also wasn't looking forward to Blizzard balancing skills in each class for PvP and PvE. They can't do that worth a shit either.

There is speculation that d3 "team pvp" will be some form of moba. Whether that ends up being true or not remains to be seen. They've stressed repeatedly that some form of PVP is coming outside of the dueling we're getting in 1.0.7.

Honestly, IDGAF about dueling anyway.

This is probably not the best place to post this, but does anyone know how to build an Applescript or a Quicksilver Trigger for a CM Wizard?

My arm is dying from the 4 button spam. Info on this would be helpful.

I am still trying to figure out what people hate about this game.

Running the same content over and over? Yep... that was what D2 was
Gear Grind? Yep... D2
Hostile Button? Yep... D2

They fixed the annoying parts of D2 that for some reason people think are fun. Re rolling your character to try something different? No Thanks. Screw up your build and have to start over? No thanks.

There is zero difference in this game and D2. Just butthurt over the AH and blizzard trying to make money.

There is a big difference between the two games hence the reason D3 saw a massive decline of players after a couple months. There is very little customization in D3. It was fun choosing skills and stats. D3 does everything automatically and everything is gained automatically hence no reason to start a new char for a new build. Creating a build and choosing skills is one of the most elements in MMOs and hack/slash RPGS but Blizzard decided to get rid of it. A lot of people didn't really care for the "uniques" either; they were dull. Overall, the game became a lot more casual with a weaker death mechanic and auto gaining skills/stats. I do like that the game was more difficult than D2 though. The story was also alright too.

They should have added a hostile button with the game's launch Doesn't matter if it was balanced or not. Dueling in D2 was not balanced but was fun anyway.

I agree PVP in d2 was fun but very unbalanced haha. Seems like they have been lagging the pvp since forever...

I also stopped and have been playing FC3 and Prophecy of Pendor for M&B:Warband.

Did Hark ever hit 100?

They delayed the game so a PVP delay wasn't unusual, but this is a long time.

Still on sabbatical from D3, personally.

I'm 98. I have About 500 million xp left til 100.

1.0.7 will be tested on PTR first, most likely with dueling functional for testing and feedback. According to an EU blue post, the patch is pretty massive..

So close!!

Hopefully they fix even more useless runes in that massive patch.

I might check the game out again if there are major changes next patch. Well, if there is new content to explore.

I haven't played is about a week now...Mostly because most my friends aren't on and second mostly I don't have anything to watch while I play. Watching TV is too boring to do without gaming and gaming is too boring without friends or TV....symbiotic

Going on a week of not playing. Bro and I just lost interest in the grind.

Lasted longer than any of our stints in D2 though.

Never would have thought he was, but ZilianOP is a botter :/

Frankly at the point in the game i'm at, botting is the only way to get the gold i'd need to advance much further. Either that, spend every waking moment grinding for gold, or just take a break until inflation brings things down again. As there is no real content in the game, i just took a break.

I sure many of the people who steam their shit are botters. Its not like there is a lot of pride in gaming.

Sounds like you didn't like D2 very much and didn't play D2 very much. Many people played D2 for years (far far longer than it seems anyone can remain interested in D3), yet you apparently figure yourself to be the go-to source on what people did in that game and on what people liked and didn't like about that game.

Lots of revisionist history once again.

In D2 you played a Hammerdin or Smiter, Javazon or Bowazon, Elemental Sorc, etc etc etc.

THERE WAS NO DIVERSITY IN D2 IN REGARDS TO END GAME. You also ran the same content over and over the same way you do in D3.

This is all false outrage and butthurt because A) Blizzard put in a auction house and B) Blizzard tried to make money.

They probably should have designed the game with serious fans in mind (you know, the people that actually take the time to write up those build guides people look up), instead of designing it for players like you since you just got bored with the game anyway. But at least now we're all equally bored: bland for all!

At least in terms of build diversity, i feel that D2 still had more. Too many shitty runes in D3. There were ALLL sorts of sorcs builds which were viable, even melee ones. I had probably 8 or so sorcs with different builds, for different purposes.

Also, even though you endlessly grind the same content in both D2 and D3, there was still more variety in D2.

In D3, i run Act 3 for XP, and Hellfire rings.

In D2, i did Baal, Pindleskin, The Pit, Mephisto, Andarial, Tristram, Cows, probably some others i'm forgetting.

btw: holy shit were cow runs fuckin sweet on my javazon

In D2 you could try all kinds of fun builds, not viable in end game but fun and time consuming to create. I remember creating a thorns paladin build. All points went into health (some dexterity and strength was also viable). It was fun to run around and let enemies kill themselves. I got through Act 4 with it, but haven't played further on.

In Diablo 3? No such possibility. One, because stat distributions are much more limited. Two, because you can try all builds in a matter of seconds.

This is proof that Diablo 3 has lesser replayability. In both games you can grind, but at least in Diablo 2 you could grind while trying on new skills.

D2 you'd even run alts just for the socket quest. And yes there was more build diversity...I had the craziest level 89 increased cast speed charged bolt sorc, that would lag the shit out of everyone.
