SHow me your Wizard stats and build for FARMING ACT3 AND ACT4//////

here is where is doesn't reply back.

Let me guess you farm act1.

17k dps is a bit low for a kiting wizard but your other stats seem OK. You can clear Act 2 but it probably won't be fun. I'd probably drop disentigrate for another utility/defensive skill though as you can get by with just blizzard and venom hydra (and a shitload of kiting)

Guitar you realize you look like a fool right? You can not farm with your build or OP's build, period. LMFA thats why you have 34k in gold, and I have 56million.

Both of your stats and gear are shit.

Go back to act1 for easy times.

Lol, chill bro it's just a game.

I don't think you have much experience as a wizard if that's your real take on things.

So, as a wizard I should focus on getting damage then?

Damage is your best bet to make things easier, your other stats are solid for awhile.

People still play this fuckin game?

Actually im thinking of selling my gear on the RMAH (ive made over 175 USD already on it from farming act3).

I am getting tired of the game. Act 3 is the best to farm, yet it gets old fast.

I'm thinking of selling my gear and leaving it be. I do 4-5 Act3 runs in a day, each taking 30mins, and I get good gear, but it would take 20 million a piece on my gear to upgrade.

O lord guitar, when you farm Act3 how many times do you die? I die once or twice a run killig 30+ elite packs.... so I think I might know what I am doing.

The key here is "yes you are getting through an Act". What I am talking about is "farming an act". Big difference.

Oh boy, a massive 175 dollars? I made that in 5 hours at work today, congratulations on being a pro-gamer.

I made no claims about what you can or can't do other than recognizing the benefits of a FrostVenom build. It's a build that's all about control and survival so once you get the hang of kiting it becomes pretty hard to die and it doesn't require specialized gear like other builds do.

Oh yeah? I made it in 3 hours today.

So are only the people with the most addictive personalities still playing this "game"? Makes me think I could start selling a stick with sharp nails for hitting yourself in the head with, call it "Diablo 3 Super Extreme Gold Farmer Basement Dweller Edition", and PROFIT!!!

Interesting, I actually have a history of having an addictive personality and although I can see how this game really is not worth playing anymore I keep coming back.

I would fall under the addictive personality person that still plays but....as of yesterday I reinstalled titans quest and haven't played d3 for 8 hours so we'll see!

I have an addictive personality and luckily for me, I have other games to play. I only boot it up if friends are playing, otherwise I cbf.--I do however, keep going back to COD games, even though everything after COD4 is a pos. (i do still play cod4, <3)

Oh yeah? I made it in 1.5 hrs today. I mean seriously, wtf is this? The last few pages just turned into an e-penis contest. You guys do realize that this is an internet forum, and you can pretty much say what you want. No one cares if you make $5/hr or $200/hr.
@naticus
Why you gettin so worked up bro? Do you have a personal stake in the way he plays D3? Are you the gear check police? Congrats to you for farming A3 killing 30+ packs, 4-5 times a day. Everyone here and I'm sure your parents are very proud of you.

It looks like the mods agreed with you since he's banned (temp ban maybe?) now. For a non-competitive game (yet...no pvp thus far) there's been a hell of a lot of shit talking.

Deservedly so on his behalf. Yeah it's actually quite mind blowing why this game gets so many people's underwear in a bunch.

It's been like that with Blizzard games (though not only) for the longest time, especially WoW and Starcraft. So much shit talking, yet in the end, who gives a crap? It doesn't change anything when you log out, the shit-talkers are still broke, have the personality of a rock, and are still forever 12 years old.

I was just being a dick to him since he was going on an e-penis rage about how much of a gift he was to the wizard class.

I chuckled when I saw your reply. It was a funny put down on a topic that naticus was obviously very proud of. :D

Oh look another Blizztard!

Is this a troll-post, I'm not understanding...

I was stating that shit-talking leads to nothing, and that it's pointless, how am I a Blizztard?

I'm going to guess that they read your post as somehow defending Blizzard and they apparently don't like Blizzard....so they're resorting to name calling.

Troll post and fairly immature, imo. :)

Not sure how they can get that notion, but alright. A winner born every day.

Best to keep trash talk and epeenery to the bnet forums. You guys are smarter than that.

Anyway, after many hours of farming Act I-III Inferno, I got my first 2 hander over 1200 dps. So far that makes one 1228 2 hander and an 890 dps 1 hander as the best weapons I've seen drop.

Did either of them have any of the money stats (LoH, CHD, AS)? I have farmed about 200 hours in act 1 and 2 and am yet to find a weapon that has fetched over 1 million in the AH. Blizz has seriously done some behind the scenes nerfing of these type of stats in the last patch.

Dont get me wrong those definitely sound nice but as someone else commented, and I'm sure you agree, some stats could make it night and day. For example, I found myself in act 1, an 840 DPS 1 hand sword that has 90 crit damage and a socket. I would take that over an 890 dps with neither any day.

It would be interesting to see where that cutoff line is though. Like how much more DPS do you need to overcome the lack of crit for example. I know it would be different for everyone since it would be based on your other gear with things like how much crit chance/damage your running.

I put my own stats into an excel file since the stats are all dependent on each other (as in, there is no set formula for X dps = Y crit dmg).

What I do when comparing weapons (and gear in general) is just use that spreadsheet for comparison. If I'm looking at a 900 dps weapon for example with 80% crit damage, I'd calculate the DPS for that in the spreadsheet. Then I would set my stats back to my current ones and change the DPS value (1000... 1050... etc.) until I got the same DPS value as with the previous weapon. Then I'd know that the 900 dps weapon with the crit damage was roughly equivalent to a 1100 dps weapon for me.

Mind sharing that spreadsheet?

The 890 dps 1hander had some LoH, socket and some prime Monk attributes. Good enough that I'm still using it. The 2 hander was basically a bunch of STR DEX VIT (150ish ea) and like 1.4% Chill. It sold for 150k at least :(

I haven't even found blue weapons that have had over 800dps in 40 hours of farming Inferno.

I'm still at it because I have a plan for what I want out of the game, but it can wear you down.

To be blunt, what exactly is it that you want out of this game?

Yea, I was actually saying the best I've had drop aren't actually very good :p

The 1 hander is pretty awesome with around 124 LoH, a socket, and a good chunk of dex/int. The next best weapon I got was a 750 dps hammer with 240 INT, buncha DEX VIT, and a socket.

As far as crit goes... mine is low. 10% chance with 75% damage. Still at just over 20kdps, but working crit into the mix has been a chore since those prices went up. But, I figure since I can do Ghom solo, I can do Act IV as well.

$45 on RMAH. I've gotten $15 so far, so basically... I want my $60 :D

I also want to be ready just in case Blizzard pulls a rabbit out of their hat with an expansion. If they pull their heads out of their asses and do a LoD quality expansion, I'll be happy. I didn't actually like the level and encounter design too much in LoD, but the loot, runewords, extra content and classes made it pretty good.

Ah I see, I guess it wasn't that clear for me (the sarcasm that is). Yeah I hear ya, it's a shame that there doesn't seem to be enough reward in the game. I've gotten a few but the ratio is low imo. I like the game and want to KEEP liking it but tbh it's kind of fading when it really shouldn't have to.

I know you weren't asking me this but I feel as though I'm coming from the same angle he is. All I want out of D3 is to be able to play the game and find some sweet drops over a reasonable amount of time to eventually have a pretty sick character. I don't expect it to happen in a week, but I shouldn't have to feel like I have to farm and grind for 10 years either.

Is that too much to ask?

(Blizz's first thought) What would happen to the AH then?

Well, you might have to do the farm/grind for 10 years part. :)

Man my entertainment was banned.

guitarslingerchris your gear is hot. Doing 49k without force weapon or spark flint is impressive. I bet it would cost at least 10+ million to upgrade any peace of your gear.

without force weapon I'm under 40k and my gear is probably pretty close to 50 million.

Fully geared for DPS (Glass Cannon, Spark flint, and Force Weapon) I'm at 57k and in single player this is how I farm. Multi Player I take out Spark Flint for Dimond skin as its harder to kill people. This drops me to right around 50k. 1900 Lilfe per second So I don't need escape spells like teleport.
