The latest patch completely killed any motivation for me to play this game It's just no fun killing Act 3 mobs anymore when the best thing you'll see is one or two ilvl 63 gear in an entire run of 10-15 elites.
Ya, I'm just waiting for the patch, but I don't believe the patch coming out this week will do anything for me. Oh well.I think they said they are going to fix that at some point Moo
Was I the only person who rarely got ilvl 63 gear before this patch? If memory serves me right, I killed Diablo three weeks ago and was solidly farming Act 4 / Whimsy with almost nothing to show for it.
Does anyone else's character keep moving forward when you try to stand and cast? It fucks me up all the time. I move to a spot, hold my force stand still key, and my character will still move forward (wherever mouse is pointed obv)
I have well over 300 hours on my character and 0 pieces of gear my character is using right now I've found. It's just the way it is. Kinda sad, but that's how drops are.

*sigh* I hate that they've chosen Tuesday mornings as their patch day. I have Tuesdays off and I start playing late Monday night hawaii time - usually about midnight. So 2 am on the one night I can play really late it always goes down.
That does suck for you, but tbh, it is scheduled and I'm sure they affect a lot less people on Tues morn than if they did it on a weekend for example. No matter when they did this stuff, when 6million plus people own the game, who knows how many actually play it is bound to affect someone's playing time.
i wasn't having any loot luck all day... was about to just give up until
Damn, you really have around 550 resists in everything?
I'm only around 200 resists. Maybe thats why elites rape me...
@Draax, as a WD, could you help me here? I can't figure out how the VisionQuest passive works. It SAYS that your mana regen is boosted to 300% WHENEVER you have 4 or more skills on cooldown. However, it doesn't always seem to pop. IN fact, it seems to rarely pop like it should. I'll drop spirit walk and siphon, followed by fetish army and big bad voodoo, thinking I should be able to spam zombie bears, but my mana just drops away and doesn't climb like it should if it was at 300% regen. This usually happens after recently doing the same and 2/4 skills haven't come back up yet.
Do I have to wait for all of the skills to recycle before VisionQuest will pop again? Am I limited to one mana regen buff at a time (big bad voodoo rune is Rain Dance)?
(P.S., sorry fellow GenMayers for the cross post)

I'm loving Spectral Blade for farming act 1, so much so that I bought an off hand skull with:
90-368 DAMAGE
80 INT
12% Spectral Blade Damage.
Does anyone know when that 12% is applied? Does it just change it from 135% of weapon damage to 147% of weapon damage or does it add it to the end 10,000k per slash to 11,200k per slash or does it add it to the weapon Damage 480-900 to 537 - 1008?
Also I have Tal Rasha set which adds 3% cold Damage and 3% Fire Damage. When is that damage applied and how does it work with cold blooded and the Fire Passive?
What's your spectral blade build? It always looked cool, but I've never used it, even while leveling.
I've been considering trying a tank build if I can get decent crit. Spectral Blades w/ the Healing Rune, Diamond Shield w/ Crystal Shell, and the Critical Mass passive. It looks fun. I only have 17.5% crit right now though. So far its.
Blade
Build might not work for everyone but I'm geared fairly well. In Multi player games I replace Arcane Orb with meteor, but single player Arcane orb does the trick.
30k DPS
16k life with 2000 life per second
850 all res

I was reading the healing rune is garbage and its all about the deep wounds.. totally gonna play with a melee wizard tho
I'll have to keep trying things because with the swords no matter what I did I died fairly often but after ditching them I was surviving better. If I had more LOH swords likely will work better but I think I'm around 450 right now.
you just game me a pretty good idea for life over kill. I already have 2000 life per second...If I can add a sword with high Life per hit....I'd be unstoppable....until I get frozen or play act IV.
I only have 16000 life so if I get 500 life on hit and who knows how many times that sword hits but lets just say 5 that's 2500 + 2000 life per second = 4500 life per second aboot which is 1/4 my life total in 1 second.
It doesn't hit as often as I would expect. My current wand or dagger whichever I'm currently using is like 450 area LOH and I frequently see heals under 300 and sometimes like 800+ just from hitting targets. I've seen plenty of weapons give 700+ LOH. I was thinking about dropping some DPS from my amulet or a ring and just getting 200+ LOH, life regen and vit all together and pass on DPS stats on 1 piece of jewelery.
I've found I kill things fine with 15k DPS on a wizard. In my current setup I'm at around 23k DPS so for at least goblins and A1 butcher runs I could certainly drop some DPS in favor of survival.
I'm a wiz and at 46K dps and I can't see how less than 20K works for elites/butcher in act 1 inferno. Without massive kiting it was very difficult to kill them. At 45K plus I can generally pop archon and burn them down fast in Act 1 inferno.

people often sac dps for resistance and do perfectly fine. they kill slower but probably die way less
My res are all 900+ I still get smacked down a good bit.
You do 46k dps, have 900 resists and get smacked down in Act 1? Bullshit. I do 27k dps, have 600 resists and almost never die in Act 1 unless I am being careless or the mobs are something like teleport/fast/frozen/etc.My res are all 900+ I still get smacked down a good bit.

Unless I'm missing something, Act I with 14k dps and 553 RA as a Monk is perfectly fine. I didn't quite get to the Butcher before getting tired, but only died a couple times.
