Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

^Nice. I just did GR70 on my monk in 11m. My gear is no different from when I was struggling with GR65, so I imagine the bump has just been from paragon points?

Edit: Just got Krysbin and Unity within a few minutes of each other, so my Necro's gear is done as well. Unfortunately I just don't have it in me to get everything all over again in Ancient flavor, on either character, so GR70 may be where I stop.

Well, as another person posted on Reddit, if you're after super quick loot, look no further then the Labyrinth. A 15-30 second run, and you'll get 1-2 treasure goblins about 60% of the time.

Was there a reason they are starting the new season on a Thursday? Seems inconvenient for anyone who works.

I read something about fixing any glitches or bugs when it goes live will inconvenience less players due to lower volume on Thursday. Not in those exact words but pretty much the gist of what I read.

Labyrinth? Wasn't that just a limited time thing in January?

Nope, it's a very small, fixed layout at the start of Upper Realm of Cursed Fate.

Anyone wanna group up for season 11 tonight? I might only have 2-3 hours but solo and w/ random people sucks.

Casual! /s

It's a departure from the norm, that's for sure. Though, the DLC release is also a departure from the norm as well. Maybe they just want to shake it up a bit.

Hm. Seems really monotonous but I'll check it out, thanks.

Also, is that video sped up or can DH just teleport indefinitely?

That's the normal DH speed. I was wondering about incorporating it into my level 70 grind. The reason is, within 10 minutes, you can usually find a gem goblin or a blue goblin (and maybe get lucky with a rainbow goblin), and if you get an imperial gem, at around level 20, it's a 1000% dps booster. I figure, it will probably shave off 10 minutes easily for the level 70 grind.

Also, if you do the challenge rift after the season starts, it will give you 4 million gold, which is enough to upgrade all your vendors with spare cash left over for a level reduce weapon. Don't upgrade your stash though, as that's a money drainer, and you can use that money better enchanting your weapon for level reduce. Figuring that 75% of your run is spent on level 40->70, a level reduce weapon will shave off easily half an hour, well making up for the 15 minutes you spend on the challenge rift.

Add me if you like. I am not sure how long I'll be on tonight though.

If anyone is up for HC, BehindTimes#1460. I have a couple tricks to shave off leveling time, but these unfortunately require practice. (Not too much, but like Speed Racer & Need for Speed, once you know what to do, you can do these forever, but few ever learn what to do).

Hmmm DH or Necromancer for S11. Tough to choose. I just started a DH for the first time a few weeks ago so maybe I should give Necro a shot.

Made it to 61 on my seasonal DH, after exactly 5hrs. I was going to do a Barb until I saw that DH can hop around indefinitely and avoid all hazards and telegraphed attacks... too good to pass up.

There were about a dozen 70s on the GR leaderboard by the time I was level 45. No idea how, I assume there's one spot that's really good for XP and they did that repeatedly? I've just been doing rifts. I gotta work in the morning otherwise I'd keep going.

Made a Necro (of course) for season 11 and am really enjoying it, mostly because I haven't played since season 9, the time off helps.

I will start this season once I actually get my ass off my chair and start cleaning my season 9's loot (it was still in the mail box when I checked in 2 weeks ago with 30 days limit, I didn't log in for a LONG time).

Not sure what I want to do this season lol. I need to choose between Necro, DH, Sader and Monk...

Finished the first four seasonal chapters and got my full set, total time of 10 hours. I looked at the leaderboard out of curiousity and people have already cleared GR83 after 24 hours of playtime.

Never mind them spending 24 of the past 30 hours playing the game, but how they have better gear than and have progressed further than the characters I've put 2-3x as many hours into is beyond me. I must be doing something wrong.

1. You’re not a bot :)
2. You’re not a 12 year old with unlimited time!

Keep in mind this game is relatively old at this point and some of these people have been playing for a long time. I don’t see the point of going super hardcore in diablo since there aren’t any monetary gains(mostly).

Probably too late now, but if you do the challenge rift you can claim the rewards on your seasonal character. 4M gold and 8 bounty mats.

Hm, I didn't even consider bots a possibility. I guess I (incorrectly) assumed that Blizzard would crack down pretty hard on them, same as their other games.

I don't particularly care about the leaderboards, but I played my Monk to the point of... hating my Monk and only managed to get 3 ancients worth wearing. People already have 8-10 since the season started.

First thing I did, it helped quite a bit. More than enough gold to upgrade the enchanter/jeweler/blacksmith and enough money to upgrade any jewels you find. I'm surprised that was not fixed before the season started, considering no other shared item can be used on seasonal characters.

Has anyone else been crashing a lot since the Necromancer patch came out? I've died three times this season, two on crashes (the other time was my own fault), and it's never happened like this before the last season. Not too upset about losing trash gear (I was only TX capable), more upset that I died right before we finished a bounty run, so I lost those materials. (I'm sick to death of doing bounties.)

I can't recall Diablo 3 ever crashing on me. I have had my PC crash in Overwatch though which is a pain when you are in Competitive Play since you get penalized for leaving the game early. Time limit ban and loss of 75% of XP for x amount of games.

None here. Maybe check your overclocks and make sure they are stable?

Hardware apparently is fine. Everything updated to the latest drives, and this is the only thing that crashes. My Titan's never go past 68 degrees, and CPU never past 40. Ran Windows diagnostics, and it came back clean. Ran a virus and malware check, came back clean.

Apparently quite a few other people on the technical boards also have been having crashes too. It's crashed in 32 bit and 64 bit clients. But only multiplayer. And I've noticed that it's always within a few seconds of someone entering a zone. Just sick of losing HC characters to easy mobs.

Would anyone be willing to help gear an SC char for a bit? BT: BehindTimes#1460.

I'm almost to lvl 70 with my zdps Witch Doctor.

I'm fully expecting you guys to want me in your groups to do grifts once I get it geared. haha

I'm up to T12 on my DH. Still lacking some critical pieces of gear to go any higher: Restraint, Hellfire Amulet, and a Dawn to cube for the Vengeance buff.

Starting on a Thursday killed the competitiveness for my season start. I didn't bother starting until Friday night so I was almost 24 hours behind. I did spend a good chunk of Saturday and Sunday playing and did pretty well. I'm up to paragon 517 and should be able to complete the season journey tomorrow, if not tonight. I only need two more conquests, and to level gems / augment gear. I managed to find a group last night and we did a T13 rift in under 2 minutes which was pretty impressive, and I thought that the speed rift conquest was going to be the hardest one to get so I'm glad that's done already. I've run up to GR74 myself with no issues so I'll knock out a 75 when I get home today.

RNG has not been kind to me this season. I've only got two ancients equipped so far, and I still have not seen a Gift. Normally I'm handing them out like candy. The one good thing is one of the ancients is a Primal, but it's only a belt so its not game changing.

I still have not tried the Necro so I'll probably start one after I get done with the journey. They look like a lot of fun from what I've seen. Maybe i'll start playing Necro every season instead of DH.

The Dawn buff is huge. That plus ~36.5% CDR from gear/paragon points gives it a 100% uptime and everything just falls over dead at that point.

I got an Ancient one pretty early and promptly cubed it thinking I'd never need it, only to find that there's a Grenade build that uses it that's a bit better than the typical Multishot build. Haven't been able to get another one. :(

^ this is why I never use ancients for cube powers. Learned the hard way far too many times myself.

^Yeah. For some reason I thought the MS build was top and thus I'd never need it, but it's not.

This week's challenge rift is bullshit... the spec and gear are awful. Tried it four times and could not complete it in time and I've played the class (Monk) for several hundred hours. Really sucks because I was banking on those for the materials to cube some things (I hate doing bounties). Seems there's a whole thread on it:

I guess I may skip it since I hardly ever played Monk and it sounds like a shitty build that makes it really hard to complete.

I actually completely forgot about challenge rifts and stumbled into it last night. I tried it once and failed by a minute. I thought I was just bad since I don't play Monk but apparently everyone hates this one. At least that gives me hope for the next ones.

I was running some random group GR's last night and ended up in a group running GR70's. After a few rifts, I'm standing around waiting to start the next one and some dude walks next to me and throws 3 gifts on the ground. Apparently he noticed I didn't have a socketed weapon. I said thanks for rubbing it in and explained that I still hadn't gotten one. Naturally everyone proceeded to laugh at me and rub it in some more. Three or four rifts later someone had one drop, announced it in chat, then said "oh sorry, I need it." Happily about 45 minutes later I finally had one drop for myself around paragon 580. Worst RNG ever. It ended up being a solid group though. We were running GR80's by the end of the night and having a good time. It was probably the best random group I've ever come across.

Supposedly the Challenge Rifts are quicker in a group, if anyone wants to group up tonight to do it. I still need those reward materials and bounties are for the birds.

I'd be down for some GRs, too, though I can only do about GR65 solo on my season character right now. I just swapped to a totally different spec and gear set yesterday and have yet to enchant any of it.

Yeah, definitely do the challenge rift in a group. Whoever's build this was really wanted to troll hard. Europe on the other hand got a Raiment build. While maintenance was happening today, I tried the Europe server. I died like 7 times trying that because the character is super squishy, and still beat the time by over 90 seconds.

The strange thing is, I went over to the European server for a bit today, and despite having far fewer players, they're crushing us in every leaderboard. They're a good 4+ levels on every class type.

They always start earlier from what I remember. They also have a lot more of the try hard clans, a lot of people on the US server quit.
