Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I linked my profile above, I have a demon hunter there too. You want M6, Pride's fall as a helmet (Act 3 cache), crafted ancient Arcane Barb (need to find the plan) and the Bombardier's Rucksack.

Why arcane barb, out of Curiosity?

Quickest way to get an ancient bow until you find a better one while grinding. There's other options as well if you have the plans.

You can also go the fire route and get a cindercoat versus the pride fall helm for resource regen. It all depends on what kind of damage type you want to do. T&T's are no longer needed as the turrets aren't defined as pets anymore. Marauder set is a must as is a rrog ring and reapers wraps bracers (resource regen).

Question, does anyone know if the exploding palm stacks when playing with multiple monks or if someone else's palm overrides an existing one?

I have been leveling up a season 3 monk with 2 friends (we play pretty casually). We all are playing monks, and it has been ridiculously fun blowing everything on screen up with palm + cyclone + bell combo. Stuff dies so easily I really don't know how the palm works when playing with multiple monks though.

You're right about them not being required anymore, but it's not because turrets aren't defined as pets, its because they reworked one of the set bonuses on Marauders. Sentries only cast your spenders WHEN YOU DO. So achieving higher breakpoints for your sentries is no longer a thing. Actually, slower weapons will probably be better, they hit harder per cast and they are more hatred efficient.

well got sick of world of tanks so back to D3,. playing torment going along with others in the highest one to get my Para up.

From what I've read on various forums yes EP's from different monk's stack (but I've done no testing on this and I'm playing monk for the first time since v1.0.8). Similar to Wiz and the Firebird's set.

I got one piece of Sunwuko and I'm Paragon 62. I'm having fun, but yes, it does seem like gearing up is a little slower this season, but that's okay. I have a legendary or set item in every slot except one ring slot. I should do A1 bounties and get a RROG.

I'm not too worried. One major difference between this season and last is instead of having 3-4 characters I play, I'm sticking with just the monk until he's fully geared.

I was already able to do T6 by Sunday, I would say this seasons gear has been great :p. Furnace, 2 gifts and some other goodies. Just need an immunity drop for my follower so I can push mid 30s grifts.

I'm gearing up much faster than S1. My first 3 level 70 legondaries were SWK gloves, helm, and the gungdo gear bracers (although they rolled horribly - dex, vit, armor, life regen - garbage), paragon now in the 40's. Last season I ran a DH and didn't get my first piece of Marauders until paragon 130 and was 200+ when I finally got M6.

Diablo drops in a nutshell. For the 4th rift in a row where you're getting nothing, some other dude is getting 8 legendary drops, and vice versa.

So far I've got my monk at paragon 55 running a combination of Tempest Rush Flurry + Exploding Palm Essence Burn. Got Gungdo Gear at lvl 68 but thankfully it rolled 20% fire and some decent other stats: not sure how good it is later but in the lower torments Essence Burn is insane! I apply Palm, detonate the marked enemy and then watch the screen blow up.

Stuck at 3 pieces of Inna's right now but I did just craft a 3750 DPS Ancient Mark of the Magi staff so that should hold me over while I look for something specific. Also had a trip to the Vault already! :D

That's funny. I am para 58 or so and I have yet to find any M6 set pieces for my DH. In fact, besides a physical SOJ I have nothing worth speaking of. Your experience does not give me a positive thought that it will change anytime soon.

/cry for me

I think I made 20 million gold just running grift 27-30 in a group today. Experience wasn't bad either. I'm at paragon 200 right now, let's see how much more I can grind out with my group :D

So how do i join the [H] group for D3? Think I need to be playing with you Pros to better myself...

[EDIT] requested to join!

just going as i get things and some gambling with shards now and then. Been focusing on strength, health per hit, and health regen to stay alive..But i am far from knowing the game like most of you do! I am suprsinly holding out on high torment levels, although now and then i get a single hit and dead!

Up to around paragon 130 or something with my season 2 monk running t4, bored as shit with the drops as the entire time thus far I've had only a single staff of kyro drop for daibos and nothing else. Don't know if I'll have the patience to try to get a MadFlow build with Gungdo in season 2 but holy shit I want to see that in action. I've got a Gungdo, Inna's chest and pants at least.

Had a pretty good season 2 made it to paragon 275. Started out with a call of the ancients/ LeapQuake build but found some very good raekors gear got a bit lazy and died to a bomb. Hard to think I actually died when you look at my gear but my life was just too low I guess.

Then I built a wizard to try out the new halo of arlyse, which is fucking awesome by the way, and was playing a bit sloppy and died to about 20 bombs going off popped Unstable and Firebirds....sad part is I was running a full set of black thrones just before this.

Started thinking maybe Taco in my name cursed so I now have FreakBeast alive and kicking using my old leap quake gear. FreakBeast be full tank and still alive.

With the new leveling gem you can get to level 60 in about 5 minutes and 70 in aboot 30 which might not be a good thing for me because I play a lot more dangerously knowing I could be back in business in less then an hour.

Goddamn man, you're a beast! RIP TacoThunder. RIP TacoKisses. I only just hit paragon 67 on my monk and only just got a second legendary ring...850 shards of rares and then finally a Unity. No RoRG so far but plenty of bracers and shoulders I don't want.

Glad to hear the new gem is working well; I found one recently and will be leveling up a DH with it soon! Being able to "start over at 70" is a lot more appealing, especially since losing all the gear you were wearing is still a pretty significant penalty - especially if you've taken time to level up regular and legendary gems.

One thing I've noticed this season is that the new goblins are really a lot of fun when you're starting from scratch. The green goblins seemed like a useless addition before, but when you're looking for recipes and short on mats they are awesome to find. The most enjoyable aspect to me is probably just hearing them off-screen: they always sound like they're having so much fun. Truly hilarious hearing a whole pack of them.

So my ancient drops are non existant. Unless it's useless crap then of course it's ancient.

That's why I watch SteveDave play on Steam. I suck at getting drops in the game, so I just watch him play. I don't get dejected and it's just as exciting to watch as it is to play. :)

What does the MadFlow bring to the table? I am at work or I would look it up. :x

Also, it was a ton of fun playing with clan mates yesterday, I've always pretty much played solo so it was a cool change of pace.

I got a really good ancient vigilance with the new bracers and the 4pc Sun Wu Kong set for stupid fast T3 farming, could probably do higher but I typically limit myself to something I could do while multi-tasking. So far I'm really happy with this being my first serious attempt at the monk. I just don't know where to go from here, gear wise.

Well looks like I died because blizzard fails with its servers.........................

I'm officially done with Hardcore for now. Maybe I'll come back to it some other time, but I'm just sick of dying because of something out of my control.

Legendary Updates:

New and Improved Sets:
One of our main goals this patch is to introduce more sets that could compete with the most powerful ones currently in the game. To that end, we're debuting three new 6 piece sets in patch 2.2.0—Unhallowed Essence, Wrath of the Wastes, and Delsere's Magnum Opus. You'll be able to take these items for a spin on the PTR (in Wrath of the Wastes' case, literally)!

In addition, we're redesigning—and, in some cases, adding—bonuses to existing Sets like Zunimassa's Haunt, Raiment of a Thousand Storms, Roland's Legacy, Tal Rasha's Elements, Inna's Mantra, Natalya's Vengeance, and Immortal King's Call. This means a grand total of ten new or revamped play styles to try out!

New Legendary Item Powers:
Sets aren't the only new items you’ll see in patch 2.2.0. We're also adding over 15 new Legendary powers in the form of Legendary gems, armor, rings, and more, as well as updates to existing items. Among these new Legendary powers include the one you, our community, helped create during the BlizzCon Legendary Workshop! We're still finalizing the details on this item (includings its name), and we'll be interested to know what you think once you've had the chance to test it out on the PTR.

Adventure Mode Updates:
New Rift Layouts:
If you've been playing lots of Nephalem or Greater Rifts, you may feel like you've seen them all. Starting in the patch 2.2.0, however, you'll begin seeing some new Rift tilesets based on the Fields of Misery and Festering Woods from Act I, Stinging Winds from Act II, and Fields of Slaughter from Act III. Their map layouts are randomized as well, so they’ll look different each time you explore them. Below, you can see two of these new layouts; the first image is a randomization of the Stinging Winds, and the second is based on the Festering Woods.

New Bounties:
If you're a fan of Adventure Mode, you'll be happy to hear that you'll soon have over 20 new bounties to discover in Acts II, IV, and V. We're also introducing a brand new type of bounty to the game: Exploration. As the name implies, these new bounties involve exploring an area and finding people who need to be rescued (if they're good guys) or slain (if they're not). You'll see 14 bounties of this type across all Acts in the game.

Class Updates:
Unlike some of our previous patches, patch 2.2.0 will not have a large focus on changes to class skills. While certain skills will be receiving updates, they will be relatively minor in scope, aimed more at fine-tuning current overall balance and providing synergy with some of the new Legendary powers mentioned above. Some of these changes include directly buffing certain skills (like the Crusader's Punish skill and Witch Doctor's Fetish Sycophants skill) as well as implementing some quality of life improvements (like adding an icon that shows the number of active Sentries for the Demon Hunter).
Class balance is an ongoing endeavor, however, so it’s likely that changes will continue to be made and tweaked through the course of the PTR.

Quality of Life Updates:
New Goblins to Chase:
For those who never tire of hunting Treasure Goblins, we're introducing three brand new ones to slake your thirst for gobbie slaying. The Gelatinous Sire splits into smaller goblins, the Gilded Baron helps satisfy your never-ending greed for gold, and the Insufferable Miscreant has friends to help him run interference. Be on the lookout, and good luck chasing after them!

New Cosmetics Window:
Want to take your Spectral Hound for a romp around Sanctuary without worrying about taking up valuable inventory space? Well, now you can! Starting in patch 2.2.0, any cosmetic items you own can be easily selected from a new interface, so all your visual goodies will be a click away. This includes items whose effect is only for looks and which don't directly affect gameplay, like wings, pets, portrait frames, and pennants.

New File System: CASC
For many years, Blizzard games have used a file format called Mo'PaQ (MPQ for short) as a way to compress and store game files, but it has had a number of technical limitations. To address these, we're switching Diablo III over to our proprietary file format called CASC (Content Addressable Storage Container) in patch 2.2.0.
This new file format has lots of improvements that directly benefit players, including a self-maintaining file structure (which helps prevent errors during installation), a faster and more reliable patching process, the ability to hotfix game client data, and a whole lot more!
The first step in transitioning Diablo III players will be converting existing installs to the new file format when patch 2.2.0 goes live, while using as much of the existing installed data as possible to reduce additional downloads.
Note: This change only applies to the Windows/Mac version of Diablo III and Diablo III: Reaper of Souls, and will not affect the console versions of the game.

But What About...
While these are a few of the more noticable adjustments we're making, patch 2.2.0 will also include several additional fixes, quality of life enhancements, and other changes not listed above. We're eager to hear your thoughts and feedback as you try out the patch, and look forward to reading your comments below and in the forums.
See you on the PTR, nephalem!

Probably not as exciting after my 2 deaths because I have been outpaced by the dude I play with....he kills things so much faster then me.

Nice gear on the barb, now i have some idea of what maybe i should be aiming for.

Jusr hit 70 a couple of days ago, and I must admit, this season has been good and bad to me.

The bad: I still haven't found any Arcane Barb recipes yet...

The good: Found Rucksack and the Vault before Para 10 (no gold problems this season), Kridershot as my first leg in T1, which was at para 40.

Any other weapon I should be on the lookout for instead of Arcane barb, in case I found a leg Xbow before i found the recipe? Manticore?

I got my DH to 70 a few hours ago, then played my main (Monk) and loot shared with another DH.
Got full Mara in about 2 hours, along with a bunch of gear I already had from my Monk (including a GG Witching Hour) and fully geared the DH from top to bottom in only a few hours.

I've had some pretty amazing luck so far this season.

I crafted ONE Arcane Barb and this popped out:

(Nothing has been re-rolled on either piece)

One of the best Witching Hours in NA Seasonal right now.

Double post for topic change.
I'm not a fan of the new meta game this season, farming ~GR35 with 3 DH and 1 ZDPS character (Monk, WD, etc).

People are earning 30-40 billion XP per hour. Some are probably Paragon 700-800 in less than 1 week after the start of the season. All by rushing mid-30 GR's.
By comparison, T6 is 9-10 billion per hour at most.

It's the reason I'm giving up on my Monk, I don't want to play Cold EP/Pull even though I could wear a bunch of XP gear. Plus you get more legendaries than T6. I still think Blizzard fucked up on this one.

We just hit the 6-day mark here in the US and my Monk is at 61 HOURS! 10 HOURS PER DAY and I am paragon 400 on the dot. That is without any XP cheesing.

Going by previous patches and their PTR's...

First look at 2.2 today, assuming the PTR might be available by March which is a guess, I only skimmed the post...that means patch 2.2 will be available on live sometime around September, I mean if like 3 gems and legendaries with a flat ~20% buff took a 6 month PTR...3 totally new sets and some redesigned sets (lets be honest, the 4/6 set bonus on the redesigned sets will probably be 3000% weapon damage like many others) is going to take ages to get off the PTR

When you get the opportunity, get a level 25 gem of ease and an ancient weapon with a socket. It takes roughly 3 minutes to solo from level 1 to 40. After that, get power leveled by someone else, because the enemies start to hurt.

It's not that I'm worried about getting to 70, I still have a decent backup raekor/vile ward set. Im just not really interested right now since i just lost ~40 hours in a character due to something out of my control. Maybe I'll have someone plevel me so I can play with you and pure(and anyone else in HC) from time to time.

I did have quite a bit of fun with Snowman, Arch and PitViper yesterday though :)

I just got plvled and havnt played in a long time. Assuming you have no gear whats the best way to start farming?
