Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

I had quit playing about a month after the game came out, was still riddled with problems. I gave it alot of chances because I LOVE the mechanics and gameplay, but was just overwhelmed with the bugs and issues.

I can't remember any specific bugs or issues that would warrant someone to stop playing...unless you were hardcore only player. Damage spikes could of killed the game for early adopters of hardcore.

What specifically caused you to quit or did you just hop on that hate bandwagon?

My blacksmith is maxed out at 10, though. Does the cap raise in MP1-10?

And inferno is pretty easy for me right now.

Nope level 10 is the highest. Now you just have to buy or find the plans from the mini bosses. The armor plans sell for 1.8 million right now so farming those might be rather viable.

Yeah what's the deal with that? Squirt the Peddler sells all 4 archon armor plans for 1.5M each. Seems silly to AH them.

it does indeed seem strange. I'm not sure if people are actually buying them or not. I should buy one and put it up 1.75 million and see if anyone bites....free 25,000.

Right on, thanks.

Got my Wizard up to P71 last night. I switched over the CM/WW build and I'm shredding through MP8-10. Really enjoying this new patch and I'm excited with the future changes they've announced. If anyone wants to do some MP8-10 runs, feel free to add me.

I'd actually like to see you do MP10 with that build...my PL100 Wiz is similar in stats with 250K dps and no way can I do MP10, much less MP8. Yeah I can kill mobs on those levels, but at what cost.

I too would like to see that Wizard in action. Does that small amount of life per second and life per hit keep you alive well enough?

I might have time this weekend. Critical mass wizard could go nicely with my mp10 turbo monk runs....Probably remove tempest rush though so we can stay about the same speed.

The current patch added crafting right? (Was this patch after the Brawling patch?)

What upcoming changes have they announced?

(hopefully they'll balance my class)

Announced for the XBOX 360. that was a surprise, i really though it was going to be PlayStation exclusive . Wait.. .what am i thinking? It's Blizzard and they want... money.
Also release date set. 09/03/2013

Wow, it actually looks like an arcade game:

Wow, it actually looks like an arcade game:

why yes, yes it does. D3 is more arcade game than RPG though, so it makes sense.

The only thing that upsets me is that consoles get offline mode, when they told PC gamers that they wouldn't do that for them, and as a result they'll probably get better drops.

God damn I'd love to be able to play 4 player split screen Diablo 3....If only I had a PS3...and 3 friends.

4 Player Split screen hard core weekend would be tight....Would bring me back to D2 Lan Parties and the days of Golden Eye.

Haha, looks fun for party play, where everyone can be in the same room together. That's the one thing I give consoles, they promote party play much more than pc games. It's harder for me to get LAN games anymore on PC

are you adding in the 1 hour inflation value from point of purchase to point of sale or opportunity cost?

Nah, it's just that subtracting 15% isn't the same as adding 15% to the number you just subtracted from.

If you wanna make 100k off of something you have to sell it for 117,647 or so, not 115k. Subtract 15% from both of them and you'll see.

Also, my HC monk make take a back seat for a bit, steam is selling the upgrade of Civ5 to gold for $5. I might play that a good amount this weekend.

Awe yes my mistake 117647.058824 * 85% = 100000

Companies do things to make money? I'm shocked and appalled.

I know, I almost vomited when I learned of this too! We should write our congressmen about this. All games should be given to us for free, we are entitled to this along with life and liberty. Except for, of course, indie devs who are selfless angels among men who pour their souls into making games without ever thinking about profit.

Edit: Looks like bnet servers are having login issues right now. We all know that this is another one of their fucking ploys to get us to use the RMAH, greedy bastards!

Well looks like my OWE flavor is physical resistance. With One with everything and sieze the initative, I can push 400k EHP and 50k dps. The only issue is that I cant do unlimited tempest rush with my current gear. I'd either need to get an Xep and SoJ, but take a 2 trinket hit to stats both defensive or offensive, or save up for a full 4 pc inna so i can keep up 6 second sweeping wind to make up for the 3spi/sec lost from dropping the 2 passives.

you might be better off using Chant of resonance as that 35% doesn't help much when you are only gaining the 2 off the helmet. but maybe not because you'll be getting 8 spirit per hit instead of 6.

There is a difference between wanting to make money (that's just fine!) and purposely making a game worse in the name of higher profits. Blizzard was once about great games, which then made them money. Now it is about making money, that sometimes also means making a great game, and recently they seem to have forgotten how to do that. Kripp's comments on D3+D3 expansion (which I linked in some other post/thread) summed it up well: Blizzard games are now flashy, play-once experiences. They aren't meant to be played for years and years, they are meant to be enjoyed for 30-60hrs, then they become stale. (heavily paraphrasing)

Yeah, for farming, I keep exhalt soul and chant instead of the defensive stuff. I'll be sticking around act 1 to get Innas, then the 3 from circular breathing, 3 from sweeping wind, 2+. From helmet and set bonus, and 35% should be enough to keep me at 10.9 spirit/second (Innas pants always has attack speed)

I've finding MP8 is more efficient at this point, due to increased deaths at MP9-10. I think at 250k, our damage is fine. Since I switched away from my LS weapon, it's a little harder to stay alive since I'm not leaching insane amounts of life per second.

I definitely need more LOH for MP9-10, otherwise I'm having random deaths every so often. I do miss having life leach on my weapon, but Chantodo's is too good for this build.

Crafting was implemented in 1.07 I believe. It sounds like they will continue to expand on that system down the road. The itemization patch is the next big one, which is definitely needed. They're going to reduce the number of rares and increase the quality. They also need to do something about weapon damage and the 'trifecta' stats (Crit, Crit damage, IAS) overpowering everything else. Also, Sockets are too powerful and essentially needed on a weapon for it to be decent. 2H's are underwhelming too.

They will also be tailoring the legendaries to provide unique buffs to certain skills, which will promote build diversity. This is something I'm looking forward to, as it can be really cool to find a legendary and completely remake one of your characters to utilize it. One example they mentioned was an item allowing 100% up time on Call of the Ancients. Things like that are awesome.

I would love a mod to double the speed of TR but half the damage it does.

For my wiz, I'd love for my akon to shoot and move at the same time.

Imo they should fix all the stupid runes first, then make the legendaries to fit. I'm starting to wonder if they think the moves and runes are all gravy.

I would love for my Wiz to shoot-n-move as well but it really would only help farm white mobs faster since it only shoots the beam in front of you. Still have to turn around on elites after running away from to much RD damage. I'd like to find a way to kill those elites faster while running backwards... :D

Well for farming at mp3-4 elites and whites are basically the same. They all die so quickly. The bottleneck for akon is the fact that I have to stop to shoot, unlike barb or monk that have fast moving skills that also deal damage. I think archon mode is self will become inviable at higher mp before the usefulness of a sliding archon ability

Pretty much ran out of funds in hard core. No more gold, secrets, green gems, and demonic essence.

Have crafted a good 20 shoulders now and getting vit, dex, and allres is proving difficult. Since I'm out of juice I'm going to run though and pass HC.

I found an insain yellow quiver that is better than a high end dead mans legacy...finding a price for it is going to be hard though as not too many DH in hard core and most actually search specifically for a dead man's legacy.

200+ dex 200+ vit
9 crit 15 attack speed
10 max discipline
Sockeket
