Diablo 3 Discussion Thread

Refunds may be a good thing. It'll give Blizzard a reason to patch in more content for us who actually like the game.

I remember getting bored of D2 extremely quickly when I got it as well. I don't think it was until after the expansion and runewords that I really put in much time.

Get a refund, you are entitled to "cheat" them out of 60 dollars just as they've cheated us out of a supposedly diablo themed game. Instead we got this money-grubbing-pile-of-shit.

yep they screwed US over making us wait this long for a game that I wouldn't complain if it were only $30 or less like many small studio games. I have the patience only if the game is discounted. waiting this long there's no reason for so many fundamental flaws.

I'm a week in with my monk at 56, dh at 44 and the others down around 15. no power leveling crap and apparently I got into the game after my friends already gave up on this game. I've had items drop that actually upgraded me twice since hitting level 30 on my monk and neither were any good 3-5 levels later. I'm near the end of act 2 of hell and already had to go through buying items with resistance

Exactly one time since I hit 60 did I get anything to drop that would be an upgrade for me...and it really wasn't a true upgrade more of a side grade. I farmed (Inferno) 3rd ghost and his level for 10 days straight too.

Having some fun with the Wizard's arcane mines rune for arcane torrent. Killed the Butcher Inferno with it pretty quickly too. I don't expect this to be viable beyond that unless you're very geared, but its nice to leave a trail of explosions when kiting guys away. :D Unfortunately all the mines despawn when I throw down my hydra. It might be a bug.

Been farming gold/gear a ridiculous amount in preparation for moving through Act 1 Inferno on my HC Wizard.

Sitting at ~50k HP, ~10.5k DMG, and 625+ AR (Some 700+). I still need to upgrade rings and ammy and could improve my chest. I'd like to get 700+ AR.

The problem is lack of good weapons with a reasonable price tag right now. I really don't want to drop 5 million on a 700dps int/vit 1h.

your HP and AR #s would already be sufficient for A2

your DPS is lacking, but it shouldn't be an issue in A1 except for when trying to beat the Butcher's enrage timing

Yea, I just prefer to overgear the hell out of everything so that the greatest risk of death comes from my own stupidty rather than tough monsters =P

honestly, your greatest risk of death is DCing or D3 bugging out imo

Wow that barb did not tank for him AT ALL.

my understanding is that the HC Barb tested how his SC Barb would do with similar gear to his HC Barb in A3 and the SC Barb was not able to handle the A3 Soul Lasher packs which is why the Wizard tanked and directed everything

Does anyone have a tank Wizard in inferno? By tank I simply mean being about to take 4 Hits consecutively.

I Found Immortal kings Helmet and am now saving up for the armor (which is like 5 million) and it will give me an extra like 110 All resist for a total of about 600 on each. With force armor and about 1000 life gained per second I'm thinking I'll be able to take 3 hits at 35% and have regained enough life to take a 4th......Which in inferno is pretty much a tank.

Can anyone's Wizard take hits?

I introduced my girlfriend to the game last night. Blizzard did not do themselves any favours by having huge lag problems.

Mine can't take that much without diamond skin with crystal shell. Speaking of which, I wonder if diamond skin scales better with a smaller health pool. The best case scenario for force armor is to reduce incoming damage to 35% of the health pool, so perhaps 35% of a small health pool won't diminish diamond skin as quickly?

Well, there are now officially dupes for Diablo 3.

LOL, always online DRM to prevent hacks, and dupes my ass. Fuck you Blizzard.
lol... GG Blizzard

I still rubber band and freeze often. I won't be playing for much longer, but i just got to inferno and will check it out.

I feel like mine can take quite a few hits in Act 1 but I avoid the vast majority of damage and diamond skin takes the rest. In fact, I won't die in Act 1 at all unless I get a bad combo (such as jailer with mortar) and even then I still rarely die.

That said, in Act 3 I feel like I have no gear at all.

Solo Inferno Belial as a Wizard (unless you overpower it) is stupidly hard in P1 and P2.

Yeah I'm gearing for act3. I can do ok in act 3 but I often get stuck on a group I can't kill because of the constant 1 shotting. If I could take 3 hits and still be kicking I think I'll be fine in act 3. I don't even use diamond skin anymore because it only protect from 1 hit and sometimes not even that.

I guess I'll just buy the armor and find out. If it doesn't work I can always auction it back and hopefully get most my money back. By using this armor though I'm sacrificing a ton of DPS because it doesn't provide INT....as its for a barbarian.

Just to dispel some confusion here, those videos do not show duping, that is not what is happening lol. Its funny how many people watch that and have no clue what hes doing. He isnt duping. Its a crafting glitch that allows him to craft stuff and get his materials back, so people pay like, 3 mil gold and they craft stuff. Its something that should get hotfixed pretty soon id think.

I just took the other member's word for it. I didn't have time to follow every motion the guy made in the video--just saw that it was some korean with a bunch of the same-looking item, and it looked like he switched characters or something at some point and had all of them back in his bags.

You sure? That looked like duping to me. I didn't see him go to the black smith and get his materials and gold back. Explain better sir.

planning on it, I have day 29 circled on my calendar. This game just isn't good enough. I'd be more forgiving if this game was called torchlight 2 or some other "clone" type game but for it to carry the diablo 3 name no thanks its not good enough. I will be giving my money to the small studios who actually care about the product and believe they should offer support to customers instead of the we're busy right now responses so many are getting

So if the game is so terrible you don't want to play it and want a refund why not do it now rather than circling day 29? Or do you just want to play for free for 29 days and then get a refund...which is crappy, IMO.

those are f'n hysterical:D

I can't believe the dude in the first video spent sooo much time on Diablo 3.

231 Hours Played

June 10th, 27 days after release.

231 Hours / 12 Hours = ~ 20 twelve hour Days played (19.25)

20/27 days since release, he has spent playing this game. That is insane and unhealthy. It's good his character died. Maybe Blizzard has a built in "you are failing at life and should change something" feature.

that is insane i dont know how he did that. I put in the most out of my friends and its a "CASUAL" Amount. like 45hours on my wizard and 14 hours on my barbarian.

That's not really a large amount of time played. I played extremely casual before I quit and was at 140 hours or so the last I looked a few days ago. 18 hours a day averaged is a little excessive to me for a video game. 12 is just "liking" it.

Time is relative to the person. I work and have a significant other so my 200 Hours is far more impressive/destructive that my brother who doesn't have a job or significant 400 hours.

the first 5 days of release I had 18 hours a day average but work and life returned....for people who don't have work or life there is little reason not to keep that 18 hour a day average.

Of the 27 days since release (as of June 10), I spent 19 days at work.

8 hour work day, plus 2 hours round trip commute. 10 hours a day of unplayable time.

19 x 10 = 190 hours of un-playable time.

I can average 2 hours of playing time on weeknights outside of dealing with other responsibilities.

19 x 2 = 38 hours of playable time.

Ignoring weekend duties, let's say I put in 12 hours a day on weekends. 8 weekend days since release.

8 x 12 = 96 hours of playable time.

With what I would consider to be hardcore play time, I could have maxed at 134 hours since release. That's just over 11 days of straight playing. Even 11 days of straight playing, out of a possible 27 is insane to me, that's approaching half of your month spent on a video game.

When you get up to or over half of your time (not spare time, total time) playing a video game, I think that is unhealthy.

If you don't like the game enough, people boo and hiss. If you like it too much, people boo and hiss.

I feel like my ~85 hours is too many so far. If my friends didn't push me to log in, I'd be taking it a lot slower.

So I rolled a DH after getting really frustrated at my WD.

Oh my god any DH that bitches about Inferno seriously needs to L2P or go play WD/Wizard. The difference in the classes is far too extreme. I don't want DH to get nerfed, I'd much rather have Blizzard buff my WD and Wizard to the same "fun" level as DH.

Benefits of a DH:
No shitty attack animation delay (HUGE HUGE difference vs my WD)
More fluid feeling gameplay. Dodging actually feels fun with a combination of vault/SS, same with kiting
Get a cold damage weapon and you get a free snare. WD/Wiz have to take a passive or specific rune for it

Until they fix some core mechanics of WD (pets, broken ass animation) I'll probably shelve my WD for my DH.

DH vs Wizard:
Wizard gameplay is just too...static IMHO. Your teleport is every 16 seconds or so unless you get whacked and it resets but then again who wants to get hit in Inferno?

LOL

DHs have no dmg mitigation through spells so trying to do any sort of mitigation through gear just becomes a cluster fuck.

Every DH I have seen is just glass cannon and vault is fucking impossible to control. Without just stacking smoke screen/movement speed and hoping you can dodge you pretty much get one shotted all time.

Wizard can tank with certain spells and a Witch Doctor actually has a valid crowd control that can handle something like a teleporter mob. A DH has none of that.

What is amazing isn't the people who spent 12 hours a day playing the game. What is amazing is the people who spent 12 hours a day playing for 25 days and then all of the sudden say "this game fucking sucks I want my money back"

Only to move on to something like a 20 hour game (insert any RPG here) and say the game is amazing!

Are you saying those people are idiots, or saying there aren't better RPG's?

Choose wisely.

The former. People are idiots. Seriously how can you literally play something for that long hating it.

Like the guy who "circled day 29 to ask for a refund". That guy has a lvl 55, 44 and a bunch of lvl 10-20 characters and now he wants his money back? Unbelievable.

You have chosen correctly.

I've never asked for a refund on any game, ever. If I buy one that was really dissapointing, I say shame on me and never buy from that company again. Diablo 3 isn't even close to being horrible enough for me to "teach them a lesson". Depending on how well they patch the game, I could possibly buy an expansion. I do hope they can learn a thing or two about balance, though.

And quit trying to write stories, Blizzard, you fucking suck at it.

Yeah, there was a guy like that a few pages back as well. It's pretty shitty, but not unbelievable IMO. There are scumbags all over the place, like those people who buy beer and cigarettes with foodstamps, etc. Oh well.
