LOL did you just say the Canadian dollar is worth more than the Australian Dollar? As a Canadian living in Australia...I can say it hasn't been for the last couple years. Trust me you don't know price gauging until you live in Australia :p

According to http://www.displaywars.com/24-inch-16x10-vs-27-inch-16x9 there isn't a large size difference between monitors.

I don't game so I don't know if it's worth it for that. Will it really make a difference for games?

I also purchased the 2412M during the recent Amazon sale. Hopefully 1440p will offer some solid benefits for my work - if not it's going back. I know I could get 2x2412M for the price of the 2713HM, but I'm not a fan of multi-monitor other than using a laptop screen for secondary applications.
 
Should i be looking into this or the Samsung S27B970D for photowork? :confused:

damnit. i'm gonna call and see what the deal is with mine, i never gave them my email address.

EDIT: just got off the phone. they submitted an expedite request and upgraded me to overnight shipping for free.. so if you're as impatient as i am, call them!

for what it's worth, i've had a great experience with dell small business so far.

I've interacted with their business and home divisions a number of times over the years. It's hard to believe they both belong to the same company. I'll never buy an expensive product from the home product line because the support can be horrible.

Of course, you occasionally get some questionable characters on the business support side as well. But for the most part my experiences have been good.

I noticed a "U2713H" on Dell's site today. I just ordered the U2713HM last night too. Should I cancel and get the U2713H instead?

Mine shipped as well with a ETA of the 7th. I did not contact Dell after I got the delay notice, so mine was processed and shipped under the regular 2-3 shipping. Ordered on Monday.

I noticed a "U2713H" on Dell's site today. I just ordered the U2713HM last night too. Should I cancel and get the U2713H instead?

The 2713H is a brand new monitor (appeared on the website today?) so I doubt anybody has experience with it to guide you. It seems to be targeted to graphics professionals.

what are you doing with it? If you need color accuracy i'd consider it. may be slightly better for gaming as well.. seems it's advertised with a 6ms response time, where the HM is 8ms.
 
i doubt there will be any real world difference in response times between the two models. the H model is new and aimed at professional users. if you need/want wide gamut, 10-bit support, hardware calibration etc then maybe worth a look. the U2713HM is more suitable for mainstream users. some more info on the U2713H here:

Ughh, still waiting for my physical gift cards to arrive in the mail. I ordered them last week. So much for "Next Day Air", which apparently doesn't provide tracking either.

I'm in the same boat. No tracking information, but supposedly they should arrive today. Fingers crossed as I really want to get in on this deal!

I took advantage of the $150 amex credit. Received the amex confirmation after placing an order. We'll see.

I sent an email to them including my receipt from Dell. I didn't get a response back, but I'm guessing a few people here did the same. :)

On a side note -- monitor is still going strong! The backlight haze has gone down even further after only a few days use. Still two pesky stuck pixels I can't seem to get unstuck, so I may request another monitor and hope for the best.

Yeah, I did the Amex $150 promo to get physical gift cards. How exactly are you double dipping?
 
ordered last night! My Crossover died after a few months. Decided to buy directly from Dell as well, instead of the egg or whatever, so my warranty is direct.

Used the small business as some have mentioned. got it for $699.. not quite the uber deal some here posted, but better than the $799 listed. Includes 3 year advanced shipping warranty, so I am happy. Delivery date is 12/12 with the free shipping! can't wait!

After getting spoiled with 1440p with the cheap Korean one, cant go back!

You could have used the Dell eGift card promo to save at least anther $75-$90.
