if it was soldered the drop wont be as much. I was agreeing with you!
ps: the 10-20c drop is the average people are seeing on de-lidded 6700/7700 etc, which are not soldered.

AhhI didn't realize that the 6950x was soldered and that the temp drop would be insignificant, so that part is void. everything else I said applies.

This CPU is soldered (methinks, right?)
People usually get like 5 degrees better Temps by removing the IHS compared to soldered
Removing the IHS
Only thing being problematic about solder could be that the IHS is not very even
I remember having to lap my q6600 because of this
