I have an 8800GS running AQUA CUDA. I am 11hrs 20 mins into my first wu and I'm 63% complete.

Aqua gave me tons of both CPU and GPU workunits (at least 3 pages to scroll through in BOINC). However, I still haven't finished a single WU. The The CPU ones seem to be running OK, but the GPU units are at 44-46 hours and say they still have 29-35 hours left. This is way longer than GPUGRID took to run. I'm wondering if it just doesn't like my 8800GS cards, or if I somehow got monster WUs that are worth a bunch of points. If something's wrong I'd like to switch back to F@H, and maybe use the GTX 285 for Aqua instead.
Thanks for the info, I'll do some more research when I get home. My first CPU task finally finished, and I got almost 6K points for 49 hours of crunching, so that's not too bad. I counted 132 WUs in my queue, so I should be able to run for the next year even with no internet.![]()
BTW, I said I was done, but there's a small voice in the back of my head saying "MOAR D." I have an empty Antec 300 sitting in the corner that looks sad.![]()
i wish i had more cases and gfx cards for my extra systems.. but i dont have enough room in my bedroom to run any naked systems..
Right between Stockton and Modesto, 10 minutes east of Highway 99 along Highway 120.yeah over here in the east bay(delta valley) running something in the garage is a bad idea..especially since the sun sits on my garage door for 7 hours out of the day..
where in the central valley are you?

OK, I read over at the Aqua forums that others are having similar results with the 3.26 CUDA workunits. They're apparently huge, runtimes of over 40 hours with GTX cards, screen sluggish, etc., although some people are still reporting quick (<10 hours) results. It looks like there are different sizes of WU with different points, so maybe I just lucked out and got some really big ones. At least they seem to give decent points, although some people are saying the 3.26 CUDA points are not as good as GPUGRID.
Yeah I've been wanting to build my first Quad rig. I just bought a hard drive yesterday. Not sure how much longer I can wait before I order a Quad.
I just finshed a bunch of W@home units today. I switched the rigs over to Enigma but I'll switch them back as soon as we hit 9K.

so those that have run SoB do you like using the SoB client or using p95 to run the SoB projects? trying to see if i really should waste my time changing clients on this system since the SoB client runs perfectly fine.. and the p95 client sucks balls for showing progress..

Okay, got both the dnet CPU client & the beta GPU cuda 2.0 client running on my dual core along side BOINC, and we'll see how the cuda drivers do with Windows fast-user switching BS...
Does 14M key/sec for RC5 sound about right on a 3.2GHz machine that's also running BOINC on both processors (first rig in sig)?
edit: wait, am I reading this right? I just installed the Cuda client, and it's telling me it going to expire in just over a day?!

Yeah, there's discussion at their forum about how the points don't equal GPUGRID right now. Apparently they've been adjusting points on the fly, and people thought earlier work gave too much, and now they say it gives too little (especially since the GPU WUs have gotten bigger). Eh, I'll keep it running for a while.
unless you plan to go i7 i think the 955 is a better choice.. my 940 can actually match sazaneyes i7 on some projects.. but kicks the i7's ass on W@H
i wish i had waited a few extra months to get the 955 but oh well.. i love my 940..
im going to throw another 2 laptops on SoB so i should be some where around 25 mil jems/s.. going to keep my 6400+ on W@H for as long as possible..
I was thinking of doing it on the cheap and grabbing an AMD 810x4. For only $170 its a pretty good deal. Should still be able to OC it plenty with a decent board.
Finally got all my boxen over to Enigma. Looks like we are already piling on the points and moving up the board. Up to #46 in the project i see and the 6th biggest producing team of the day.
