DC Vault

Right now according to task manager it is using 218,976k of memory. The computer has 4 gigs with a 32 bit OS. The thing is, outlook actually burns through a good bit too, and then when you have 3 or 4 3-D CAD models of 400,000sf buildings suddenly I start getting errors in CAD. It always helps to stop crunching on climateprediction and then I can work again.

It sucks, but I am 70hours into this work unit, so I don't want to loose what I have done so far.

It looks like I will have to convert one of my SETI boxen to GPUGrid sooner then expected. The plan was to get our team rank under 1000 them make the switch with one box. I'll wait for it to be added I guess, then play catchup.

Hey, at least you have 4 gigs! I run CAD for civil purposes with lots of large TIFs overlayed with roadwork lines, and that's on 1 gig of PC4200 - when I complained to my IS guys, they gave me 2-256MB sticks of PC3200 to add to it, figuring that would shut me up

Now we have a vacant computer in the room that will soon have 512 total so I can get to at least 2 gig of matched memory!

Nice bump in PSP - Sieve overnight. We're really nipping at the heels of BOINC.BE now.

Check out the top though. I would guess its a stats glitch, but for right now, Ars has dropped to #2. Their team page says they lost 9780 Vault points but I can't see where.

Hey guys - Just thought I'd drop in and say hi. Things have been quite busy lately so I havent had much time to post, still been lurking though.

Nice job on the Vault guys. We keep inching up. I've still got a couple rigs running. I need to get a couple more back up and going.

Sazan - Looks like we are in striking range of a few teams finally on W@home. Im going to throw a couple boxen on that this weekend. ;)

Keep up the good work guys!

Ars didn't get a OGR-27 score. It's blank.

Like a ghost town in here.

It is a Ghost Town but I don't really have much to say.

Im pushing hard on SoB and still trying to keep up with there odd ways of updating.

Only 2434 more points to take the 14th position!

Well if your guys been crunching hard then I'll let you off with a warning this time.

I pulled the string out of the Yoyo and leaning on Leiden Classic a bit.
Nice SoB work Eric.

I'm in the middle of long-term crunching:

GIMPS (currently going backwards) - crunching 4 units to finish at the end of April

Prime Sierpinski PRP (up 3? since Mar. 1) - 47 days to the next overtake

W@H (up 1 after over a month) - 11 days until two overtakes

Eon (up 2 in last week) - 47 days till next overtake, or sooner with Razor's help

BOINC - with Superlink offline I switched to Docking, but I'm only running on my laptop

I also spent the past week reading Atlas Shrugged, so I've been mostly offline. :)

At the end of the month I'll probably go back to BOINC on more machines, and I've also got Muon1 ready to install. I recently crunched a GPUGRID unit just to get on the scoreboard with the team. If more BOINC projects start having GPU work, I might switch some of my machines from F@H to BOINC.

Superlink went tits-up so I switched over to WCG for a while. I'll be back to POEM, Leiden Classical and Docking@home shortly though. I just want to get a few more badges in WCG first.

I shut down Majestic-12 tonight due to a lot of bad URL barrels there going though SazanEyes and fired back up the EON proxy.
I'll let it build some work up for a few days then I'll unleash some help for you.

Unfortunately, my main home boxen has decided to start freezing at random, and just 2 months after popping in a new PSU, so I've had to take BOINC offline (that's what seemed to solve the problem), and remove my overclock (the horror!). At first I thought it was the PSU going again, but when just BOINC froze me up, and my two 9600GSOs, which draw more power than a dual-core processor, ran 36 hours just fine, I figured that's probably not it. In addition, I can run Guild Wars at full res on one GPU (stressing CPU & GPU #0) without stopping GPU #1 with no problem. Now I have to figure out if it's either the 2 new sticks of RAM I added about 3 weeks ago or the fact that I've been running a 1.8GHz chip at 3.2GHZ/1.475V for a year and a half. Of course, removing the OC from the memory may have been the fix, too... Damn troubleshooting!

On the bright side, I figured out that running 2 GPU F@H & two cores of BOINC on the same machine was what was making GPU #0 run at half the ppd of GPU #1, as I posted my first legit 7000 pernt day in months today! I'm going to try adding a single core of BOINC back in tomorrow after 24 hours of Prime 95, and if that's stable, start upping the OC. And as soon as I get things straightened out, I'll be adding one of Sunin's Q6600s, too. But this weekend will just be a single Celeron-M @ 1.4 in a lappy cranking out POEM WUs... So I won't be mowing anyone this weekend!

But I gotta keep priorities straight, and I'm less than 30K away from a Mil in F@H, so as long as I get that, I'll worry about BOINC later!

time for some ubber IBT stability testing time.. :p

Overall Team Position: (Up 1 places) 14
Overall Team Score: (Down 6,743.933083 points) 318,160.647721

lost points but moved up.. they removed malaria control..

The easy foothills are behind us, now we start clawing our way up the mountain.

yup.. im going to start my systems back up tonight.. have had them all off and idle for almost 10 days now.. way to long.. my bill better be lower..

I'm gonna be shutting down 2 of my systems for a while. (2 P4s). I still have a C2D 24/7 and my main desktop on for most hours of the day. I'd like to try and keep the bill low.

In addition to removing Malariacontrol, they added GPUGRID, but we don't have a team listed yet.

It's really hot today, so I'm going to have to start turning things off soon, too.

Dont get too excited, its just another OGR oop, BOINC.BE got no points this time.

ok running boinc again.. working on primegrid, SHA-1 and poem.. man i love this 940.. doing primegrid projects that use to take me 30 minutes a WU with my be-2350 @ 3.05ghz in 14 minutes on my 940 @ 3.5ghz..

no we lost the points because malaria control was dropped.. which we had 6k points on..

Right, but we moved up to #14 because BONIC.BE got a goose egg on OGR-27. It will get corrected and we'll be back to 15 where we actually belong.

GPUGRID has been added.

You're welcome. :D

You know for all the bitching on the Ninja forum over GPUGRID, it sure seemed to cause a LOT of movement in the math category! I think more teams had points in that project than were willing to admit.

And I hope BOINC.BE wasn't too high on OGR, or it'll be a long climb to catch up to them a second time...

FTFY. :D

im now running POEM, SHA-1, primegrid, and docking.. and started folding again with my GPU.. aka im trying to kill my 780g motherboard so i can get a new one.. :p

Good to have you back sirmonkey!

I am currently got one of my systems back up and working on SHA-1. Got a couple others working on W@home and one core on RCN. If I can get my rig with my Nvidia card reformatted I can start it up on GPUGRID. :)
