DC Vault

I stopped working on SoB since the new client. It was giving me all sorts of trouble. I am going to work on some of the Misc. such as NQueens.

im stickin with the old client.. works perfectly fine for me.. no reason for me to update it..

Yeah the new client did seem faster but did not seem to show the points. My points just dropped off to 0 once I switched. I might actually work with W@H since its Non-Boinc.

It will update the server once a day and then you see your points from the time you downloaded the work unit then it will drop to zero again until 24hours later and then it fills in the graph back wards to the last time it updated.
The new client works way faster and better than the old client in my opinion.

ill try the new client out some other time..

Will definitely jump on PrimeGrid again when it starts supporting Cuda. Gotta make sure the [H]orde stays on top.
See, I guess I'm still old skool enough that all my 'cuda belong to F@H... :D

Of course, all my extra $$$ right now is going to more cores for BOINC, so I think that's a fair trade! I can't do any less than the 2 96GSOs I currently have folding and hope to maintain my spot in the mid-300's, and I'd love to break into the front page some day. On top of that, I want to add an ATI card next for Milkyway & diversity... As always, moar "D" is the answer! If only I could afford the farm I *really* want!

yeah i stuck with F@H for a while.. but ran into to many problems with the EUE'ing fest back a few months ago, and then never went back to F@H.. heck i havent really done much with cuda in a while..

Oh if we could all have the farms we wanted the world would be a perfect place. :p

I'm still trying to save up for a quad-core.

I may be wrong but is anyone other than me still running P4's? I have at least 1 running 24/7 along with my C2D Home Server.

I have one sitting on my desk (820) and a I have a Celeron in my WHS box.

I have a P4 630 64bit HT @ 4ghz on an Abit AW8-MAX motherboard with Vista64 in raid 0 running Majestic-12 crawling 4+ million URLs a day while doing Cuda-Seti on a 8800GTS 640mb.
When it's not running MJ-12 I use it as my EON proxy server.
It sucks down a lot of power but it is still a very useful processor.

My work machine is a Pentium D 945, so it's a bit better than a P4, but not much... But at home I have a Celeron M @ 1.4 GHz that stays limited to VERY small WU's like SHA, POEM, and the like. Average WCG jobs can take 16-18 hours  - It'll probably be retired once I get my quad core, but it still cranks out a few hundred BOINC ppd and the hit on the power bill is minimal, so we'll see...

Cool the older P4's and Pentium D's aren't dead. :)
They are useful for me as well. I have mine running a web server, FTP server, and usually Boinc or some other DC in the background.

I still haven't replaced my Pentium II torrent box.

It's starting to look like we've hit a wall in DC Vault. We can probably climb to #14 eventually, but after that we definitely need more D.

all my systems are off/not DCing right now..

i still have a athlon 1700+ as my server running 6 4 sata port pci cards... man i love those old socket A boards.. friggin endless amounts of pci slots.. :p

I posted a message this morning in the DC-Vault forum asking about the problem with the Seventeen Or Bust points.
Seems a lot of teams points have been messed up. No reply yet.

it was something on SoB not dc-vault.. i checked.. SoB is off by a lot.. like they rolled back on stats or something..

pos firefox is pissing me off.. swear it only screws up on this site.. so enjoy this double post..

notice on SoB that its now jEMs/s instead of cems/s or what ever it was before.. also take a look at your total points.. they are way off.. if i remember correctly when i stopped i was at 30+ T cems if not higher then that..

Yeah I noticed that switch from cEMs to jEMs yesterday but I didn't notice that the actual points changed, I think the points it is reporting now is about what I thought I previously had but I could be wrong.
Interesting...

It looks like our points didn't change, but other (inactive?) teams got a big boost yesterday. Free-DC wasn't working this morning but it's back now:

http://stats.free-dc.org/stats.php?page=team&proj=sob&team=646

Any ideas?

Edit: Actually, it looks like our team got a small point bump too. I guess the currently inactive teams around us had enough historical activity that the readjustment gave them a big boost, while we only got a small boost since we're a new team?

OK, that thread explains it, and I think the admin is right that we can overtake all these inactive teams again fairly quickly.

I don't seem to be listed as a member on that stats page? Am I doing something wrong? Wouldn't want my D to go to waste.

Thats a very good question EricE.. You should probably post a message on the Free-DC Forum and ask if they could take a look at it.
Bok should help you out pretty fast with that I would think.
Be sure you give him your SOB userID=15914.

Thanks I'll do that. :) For now I'll do some PrimeGrid and work on it again once I get it straightened out.

Thanks for letting me use your Malariacontrol.net account Mr Flibble.
With it I was able to private message a forum admin and receive my own invite code.
So a big thank you from me personally and the [H]ard DC Commandos.

Interested Commandos can PM me with account info such as user name,e-mail, and password (which can be changed once logged on). Once created I will PM back.

Is there any way to not start another unit once I finish one I am working on in a project? I want to finish the climatepredition.net unit I am working on, but it takes too much RAM for me to use my computer much while it is going at work here. After it finishes, is there a good way to make it stop, or do i just have to ditch the recently started work unit once it starts.

Go on to the Projects tab, hilite the project you want to stop and hit no new tasks.
