DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Coming from an EVGA Hadron Air with its super noisy PSU fan I really don't want to deal with noise :( I think there were problems where the fan was noisier than normal on the firsts batches.

In french : Le « dissipateur cinétique » serait proche de la commercialisation

70W dissipation.
Still no date. It will be so nice to associate this Kind of solution in The A4.
Is 70W enough for a highend CPU?
On the Coolchip FB, they specifically say "for locked Skylake". There is a larger high end cooler with multiple heat pipes, but the prototype is 55mm tall, so unless the final release is somewhat shorter it looks like it won't fit the A4-SFX.

what will happen if you cut/sand the heatpipes (vapor chamber) in the HPC model???

I know it sounds stupid, and it will get messed up, but it will probably fit right?

I made a search for a video of someone cutting/piercing a heatsink heatpipe with no luck...

Using the first picture as a reference, if we cut the heatpipes at the edge, it will be 47mm/48mm tall, making it fit in the case, just like the Cryorig C7...

But about cutting the heatpipes.... I don't know guys, pretty sure it's a bad idea...

Also there is the ram limitation, check this out:

If they're just copper pipes, not much. If they're vapor chamber, the whole thing wouldn't work anymore.

Hello! I am new to the forum and recently started to look around for a SFF case. I really like DAN's A4 design but after following the thread it seems than the kickstarter campaign is over. Any idea how to order? Is it still possible in some way? I subscribed in the website to get notified as well. Just wondering if there are other options.

Find someone who bought two and plans on reselling the 2nd. I'm sure there are some out there, but it likely wont be cheap. Otherwise, wait till the second production sometime in 2017.

You will break it. Those are heat-pipes that rely on the same concept as vapour chambers. You don't know where their channels end, so at best you could trim a mm off, and even that might not be a good idea. The picture you posted is of a prototype, that cooler will probably never be released in this form.

How about creating a indie high-end SFF consortium and make a plea to Coolchip for a shorter version of their high end cooler? With higher end low profile coolers I'm sure their will be more customers for your cases.

Why is the Cryorig C7 so expensive all of a sudden? I could have sworn the last time I checked its price it was less than $30.

It was $30 but with the recent spike in orders the manufacturers changed their price to get some extra cash it looks like.

Fucking $99! What the hell. Greedy retailers spiking the price probably. Good thing I am not buying anything until I get a shipping notification for the case this winter...

Partpicker is not showing any availability with my US retail outlets, currently... Don't know if it's the mfgr or the retailers that are trying to cash in. I hope cooler heads prevail (pun intended) in the long-term.

If the mark-up is permanent (my guess is it's not) that will make my cooler decision alot easier...

Yeah, its temporary. Once supply comes back up the prices should go back to where they were before. The fact that we won't be getting our A4s until around the holidays means that there's no rush to overpay for these coolers.

It's already down to around $50 on Amazon.

Is future availability for this case expected to work the same as for Ncase, with ordering from the homepage and periodical shipping directly from Taiwan? Or Dondan hasn't mentioned anything about this yet?

He hasn't said anything official about that yet but at some point he was in contact with a retailer who may stock and sell them for him.

For the next version, would it be possible to move the GPU up a little and place a Flex ATX PSU underneath? Obviously this would limit GPU choice to reference or similarly sized, but with ITX GPUs there isn't that much of a stray from reference height. The case might have to be made a bit higher, but this could still shave off a good 2L. And as far as keeping the PSU fan at a more friendly level, we can add a fan or two?

Possibly dumb idea: It could also have a removable front panel like my earlier side panel idea but this time only one panel to replace. This removable front panel can open up space for a longer GPU and a bunch of 2.5" drives.

Mackan: No it will not work like for NCase, because I will don't sell it by my own. A huge german based reseller will sell it for me that ship to the EU. They work together with a well known shop in the UK that will ship wordwide.

dtallon13 Currently I focus on the A4-SFX after that I will focus on a next project.

I was watching a few rumors about the upcoming Titan P, and they say that it's going to be 12 inches...

I know that currently it's not going to fit, but if i cut a hole in the interior front panel, where the front ssd is located, do you think i would be able to fit 12 inches?

Funny you're asking. I just got my hands on the 295x2 which is 307mm, or about 12.09 inches and was thinking about the same thing as I have an A4 also on pre-order. In the case of the Ncase M1, the front area has a cut out that let's longer cards slide through, I'm going to give it a whirl this weekend and see how that goes.

I emailed Cryorig regarding to the OOS status of the C7 and they responsed that they have no plan to bring it back to US market anymore. What is an alternertive option?

I don't think that card will be 12". It will use HBM2 so it could be shorter as a normal GTX 1080.

The PCIe version of the Tesla P100 is the same length as the Tesla K40, which is 10.5"/267mm. I can't think of any reason a consumer version would end up longer.
