this is the only game that im excited for... since.... 10 years?
now to buy a new gpu... does this use rtx???
ahhhhhh.... that means we should pay for rtx now...? ahhhhLast year they said it will have RTX features in the game if I recall correctly. They showed the graphics menu last year and it looked similar to Witcher 3's menu.
edit: found a writeup on it

I'm all for buying an RTX card. Just not from the current 20x0 series. I want something from a new revision. I'll be happy to pay for it sometime before this game ships too if NV happens to have something ready by then. I'm still running a single 1070 in my main desktop PC at the moment, and I'd prefer to play Cyberpunk on something a bit more, hefty (and refined).
The Article said:"Ray tracing allows us to realistically portray how light behaves in a crowded urban environment," said Adam Badowski, Head of Studio, CD PROJEKT RED. "Thanks to this technology, we can add another layer of depth and verticality to the already impressive megacity the game takes place in."
1080Ti, same. Not because there's anything wrong with the 2000-series, but by the time CP2077 releases, they'll be old
I just went straight to GOG to pre-order. Besides not having to have multiple launchers running in the background, I'd rather CDPR get all the money instead of Valve or Epic taking their slice. This is just one of those companies I will go out of my way to support.
Yeah, they do actually seem to be fairly solid cards. I'm usually more into the incremental iteration though than the major change iteration.
You were saying no one was talking about anything but the actor. I was making a smart ass statement in reply to it.
There's no reason anyone should comment on setting/atmosphere/anything about the game because it's a goddamn CGI video. There's little to comment on aside from Reeves' involvement and release date and all of this stuff was more or less revealed in the 40 minute "gameplay" trailer last year.
Considering the game industry has featured dozens of games with movie actors I'm not sure how this is suddenly a bridge too far. Also, while I'm absolutely not a fan of star-struck idolization I highly recommend reading up on Keanu Reeves' personal life. That dude has been through one hell of a meat grinder and is as humble as it gets in Hollywood.
So an implanted Tyler Durden split personality voice in your head, or cyber-John-Wick life coach channeling the teachings of Morpheus?Sounds like Keanu is in your head.
Sounds like Keanu is in your head.
For some reason the protagonist reminds me of Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad.
I was wondering why this isn't a top seller on Steam but if you goto Global top sellers it's #1
This screen shot looks legitimate. Pretty amazing. The recent video was obviously a render, but this looks in game.
What I'd really hope for this game is the following:
- Less Witcher 3 "eagle eye" style quests. I hope the quest design doesn't constantly fall back onto the same tired, boring mechanic over and over again to keep the game feeling fresh.
- Progressing the main story isn't unreasonably level gated and grindy (I'm look at you, AC Odyssey). Hell, I'd prefer if it wasn't level gated at all (think Mass Effect).
If they can do those two things, this game should be a notch above other open world games on the market. At the minimum the setting and world looks interesting. Looking forward to seeing more combat gameplay.
I'll end up buying it on Steam just because it's where 95% of my games already are.
If you buy any games on GOG now, you can export them to Steam. 100% of Cyberpunk profits will go to CDPR if the game is purchased on GOG, which is owned by them.
