yea you can only install it 3 times while the "other" FREE version doesnt have DRM,no dvd patch and can instal it as many times as you want.
And they wonder why people get the "OTHER" version instead.

I read the review. It doesn't highlight anything new and exciting. And here's a note:
"It's important to note that the overall rating is not an average of the five individual categories. We believe that no game will ever fit into a simplistic numeric formula. Many titles are more than a sum of their parts, so the overall score is left to the judgment of the reviewer. This gives you a better sense of the reviewer's overall experience with the game rather than forcing our editors to use an average to determine the final rating for games of multiple types."
That's from the info on ign's numbering system. Basically Warhead gives the same experience as the first. Which for many, including myself, wasn't anything special.
They can say that, but it's all bullshit. You think Ocampo lives by these guidelines? Do you think he stayed up til 3 in the morning cross-referencing older reviews to give you a cover-all bar-none score accurate down to the FREAKING TENTH PLACE? If you don't like the game already, you don't like it. But spare us the arbitrary scores are scientifically objective IGN said-so argument please. If Warhead brings Crysis graphics at even Assassin's Creed performance many will be quite satisfied, be assured. Everyone likes to know that their epenis is up to the job, and they'll love Crytek for reaffirming their epotence. As for gameplay? Once people get the eye candy going smoothly they won't have anything to say about it. Crysis really wasn't that bad.
That's, well, debatable. And [Crysis] still continues to be one of the best FPS's ever made
I think I'm in the same boat. I might grab the Steam version if it doesn't come loaded with SecuROM, but odds are I'll just dedicate myself to The Witcher: EE. I'm tentatively calling Warhead a "pass".Not getting this due to DRM, enjoyed the first game and would love to give the Crytek team my money, but will never spend money on a game with DRM like that, I learnt my lesson with Bioshock.
You guys know ign gave the original crysis the same score right?
Shame there isn't a dedicated *Official* DRM thread already or one that contains just DRM talk. Dedicated game threads keep degenerating into spammed sessions for anti-DRM zealots. Sure keep telling us you won't be buying the game on principle. Like I give two hoots if you buy it or not.
My system for the review was a Q6600 with a 260 GTX and I was able to set the graphics to 1920x1200 with details at Enthusiast level (basically the same as very high from before). The game not only looked amazing but it ran around the 35-50fps mark. Anyone with a 8800GTS or higher will be able to enjoy Crysis at high resolution with the eye candy on full. For those with slightly less impressive hardware, you can comfortably use Gamer setting, which increases frame rates by a good 20%. You do lose a little of the image quality obviously but its still very impressive
No shit. I'm sick of trying to learn and discuss about a game only to be met with walls of text on DRM. Seriously, make your own thread.
On a more constructive note, having not played crysis, would there be any problem going through warhead first?

1920x1200 Enthusiast for me it is!
Looks like Cry Engine is finally going to put other game engines to shame for visual quality and performance.
"Crytek have promised to deliver more dynamic content as the months pass, so potentially this section of the game could prove to be very successful, if they keep to their word."
Did anyone else find that hilarious. Oh, video game reviewers, when will you grow some brains?
I mean, is he wrong? Do you remember how many months it took for Crytek and EA to abandon Crysis and stop releasing patches or developing content for it? It wasn't a lot.The Crysis bashers are out so soon? At least wait till release and a couple weeks for it to settle in gamers hands. Seriously its dead baggage to carry around you should let it go my friend![]()

Yahtzee is that you?
Yahtzee generally has good points, expressed well.
I'm not buying warhead, regardless of any reviews. I don't know who was silly enough to encourage them after Crysis, to be honest.
OH YEAH: 'THE ALIENS ARE EVEN TOUGHER, SO NOW YOU'RE ENCOURAGED TO THROW EVERYTHING YOU HAVE AT THEM.'
THAT'S BECAUSE IN THE ORIGINAL, THAT ASPECT WAS REALLY FUN AND REWARDING. I'M JOLLY GLAD THEY MADE IT EVEN MORE OF A CHORE TO PLAY.

^ Good question, from what I heard Warhead plays around the same time on the other side of the same island from the original Crysis. I only played the Crysis demo and I don't know the full story, but reading that the actions seem to be parallel to those of Crysis, I don't think there would be much problems.
Also, I agree with everyone who said that these DRM threads are annoying. I was looking forward to read this thread about this new game only to find out to my disappointment that I had to weed through huge amounts of posts regarding DRM, and not the game itself.

I enjoyed Crysis, and Warhead looks like more of a good thing.
I could care less about DRM, either enough people will cause a fuss about it that the DRM will be scaled back, or we will simply find a way around it. Im not saying pirate the game, but IMHO, if you paid for it, you should get to install it as many times as you need, and if DRM stops that, then by all means go crack happy.
But when was the last time you installed the same game 6 times? Myself, not many times, if ever.
Warhead is like a set of buttermilk tits on a 18 year old women from Sweden. DRM is like the bra. You don't swear off those cans simply because you don't like the effort of dealing with the clasp.
The tits are always worth the effort, and Im sure dealing with a little DRM isnt the end of the world.
So, all those not going for Warhead because of DRM, have fun elsewhere, Ill be enjoying my funbags.
I see talks about video cards, and collectors edition cases all over specific game threads, and I don't hear anyone bitch about that.
Will pass due to DRM. Probably wait for it to come to Steam.
Get over it. If the developers decide to make DRM a part of the game, it will be discussed within the specific game thread, in this gaming forum.

DRM is part of the game, and it is serious, therefore, in all logic and reason, it should be discussed in the game thread.
i dont agree with you. DRM plays a big part of the game. DRM slows down your pc, resulting to loss of framerates due to the DRM running in the background. If you dont like talking about DRM, go join another forum/topic about your beloved crysis warhead game.I'm sorry but I don't agree with you. DRM is not a part of the game itself and has no effect on it at all. Discussions about performance, graphics or gameplay for example does. Also, DRM is not unique to only this game, IMHO a specific DRM thread would be much more useful. There are people who don't mind DRM or just don't like reading about it in a game thread.
I want to read a discussion about the contents of the game itself, and not finding out that half of the thread is only about how bad DRM is and how many people won't buy the game because of it. That is their choice and I fully respect that but that doesn't mean everyone wants to read or be reminded about it every moment.

i would love to give crysis warhead a go but this 3 installation crap along with a load of DRM crap annoys meI'm not aware that DRM actually slows down your computer. I'm willing to believe you but is there a link or article that talks about this. If it's true, I do find it serious.
As for your little comment about 'your beloved Crysis Warhead game,' I find it rather much to say about someone you don't even know. I'm looking forward to this game because I really want to give it a chance and I heard positive things about it. Not because I'm a Crysis fanboy. Don't presume things you don't know nothing about.
I can say the same about you, regarding your last sentence I get the feeling you're biased regarding the game.
