Well this makes me switch full time to monarchcomputer. I remember when the venice/san diegos first came out they gave me a free upgrade to over night.

Their E6600 price is 245 but won't be in until the 31st :-(

Yeah, works like this, Newegg will lose sells because all the other vendors are much cheaper. Newegg will end up with a reputation of a price gouger and lose even more business. By marking up so high they shoot themselves in the foot. The key to Good business is balancing profit and competition. If you go for profit without looking at the competitors pricing scheme, the your doing bad business.

Excuse me but any VAR selling them for that much ISN'T reliable at all IMHO! A reliable Vender wouldn't rape its customers like that. Tons of good sites have E6300 and E6400 for the near the average going rate. NOT the tray price off 1000 or whatever. MWave's $425 for the E6600 is now not looking so bad.

Many users here sites according to resellerings.com and are very pleased. I still like Newegg and will continue to shop there but will NOT blindly shop there and nowhere else, that's stupid!

You know, over the years I've spent tens of thousands at Newegg. No more. Their prices USED to be very good, but they've gotten a bit too big for themselves. In any business, money is the driving factor so for that, you can't fault them. They have prided themselves in their superior customer service, to which I wholeheartedly agree......... But, is the extra cost per item, particularly on new/hard to find items, worth it for their support?? I think not.

So long Newegg. Price gouging and sales tax on top of all of it? No way. Hello Monarch!

They've been gouging on hot hard to get products for YEARS. This isn't the first time. Yet they are still growing. 100 pissed off Conroe seekers are not going to hurt them that much.

I think you guys are over reacting.

Yeah, it's a 100% mark-up, but do you SERIOUSLY need Conroe today? Can you wait a day or two? Will your mother die if you don't have Conroe today?

Once other online stores start fully stocking (and everyone has a decent inventory) Conroes, you'll see Newegg's prices come back into line.

If it doesn't come back into line, you all can go about and start screaming bloody murder again.

Not saying that prices will drop but they also have the specs wrong. The E6300 is listed with 4MB of L2 Cache when it only has 2MB......
