"MAXON released Cinebench R23, this new version is now based on the latest Release 23 code using updated compilers, and has a minimum runtime activated by default (previously hidden in preferences).

  • Test results can vary slightly because it's impossible to disable every background task of the operating system. These tasks are one factor that may have a slight influence on measurements. Also, modern computers and graphics cards dynamically adjust clock speeds based on environmental conditions like power and temperature. For instance, processors will reduce clock speed when running too hot to allow for cooling and prevent damage. With many modern processors, the reverse is also true. They are able to overclock themselves when the temperature is low enough. Therefore, a system freshly started in a relatively cool environment will typically run faster than the same system that has been performing benchmarks for several hours in a heated office.
  • It is also possible to launch Maxon Cinebench with command line options. Please refer to your operating system manual on how to start an application using the command line. After the name of the application enter one of the options listed below. Maxon Cinebench will then be executed, run the specified test, then quit and display the result in the command line console. The result is not saved as a file.
  • The following command line options are available:
    • g_CinebenchCpu1Test=true - runs only the Single Core test procedure
    • g_CinebenchCpuXTest=true - runs only the Multi Core test procedure
    • g_CinebenchAllTests=true - runs all test procedures sequentially
    • g_CinebenchMinimumTestDuration=100 - sets a minimum test duration of 100 seconds
  • To get a proper console log on Windows, you have to add an additional command before the Cinebench executable name. Example:
    • start /b /wait "parentconsole" Cinebench.exe g_CinebenchAllTests=true"

It doesnt run on Windows 7 because it needs ARM libraries (Win RT) that were first included in Windows 8.

System in my signature, 8700k @ 5.1ghz (4.9ghz avx loads like this one though.) Seems to be chugging along just fine for being 3 years old this December. temps at full load were between 70-75c, I actually heard my fans ramp up a bit! I really need vastly higher single core performance, none of my work fully stresses all cores but I can feel it when there's a slowdown due to a single threaded load holding everything else up. I'm eyeing the 5950x but it's hard to justify just yet, never mind impossible to find. Looks like it gets a single thread score of mid 1600s, I think I'll wait until it matures and we start seeing 1,800 or 2k single thread scores to upgrade (yes I realize that probably means waiting for Zen 4.)
 
Here's my super unscientific, didn't close any background tasks (and I have a bunch) and continued to browse the web and watch youtube while running the benchmark score:

CPU temp maxed out at 75C
So, super roughly, all my background tasks (multiple servers)+ browsing the web and watching youtube uses a a little less than 10% of my processor.
God I love having enough cores/threads for mult-tasking.

My scores have improved 5%+ since updating to AGESA 1.2.0.0.

I have a rendering task that won't finish for a few more days so I won't be able to get a clean boot score for quite a while.

I was wrong. I had a CB of 18758 and just got another within a couple points.
 
From my old HP Z840 workstation (2 x E5-2667v3), but Windows as a VM, with 3 other VMs running, and this is my primary desktop, lots of stuff running...

Above is a native run on booted Windows 10 off same host. I bought the dual E5-2667v3 because I could get one so much cheaper than a TR 1950X... it compares well, and 160G ECC memory!!
 
Macbook Air M1, 8gb, 512gb SSD
Not bad for an ultralight with no fan that can last all day on a single charge. Best screen I've ever seen in an ultralight too.

Kind of crazy that a passively cooled laptop made a higher score than the i7-7700k thats in my 27" iMac.

10700 non k, turboing forever at 4.6ghz all cores. 32Gb of DDR 3600. H570 ITX motherboard (H570 and B560 allow memory overclocking even for 10 series).

I'm not sure the single core benchmark worked correctly. Because it bounced around between which core got to do part of the load. I think this kept my CPU thinking it was in multi-core mode, because it still never left 4.6ghz. And it should do 4.8ghz on 2 threads or less. I will have to change my mobo settings to see if I can fix that.

Quick RAM overclock. Took my DDR4 3600 ram to 4000 without changing any timings from XMP.
