Chimp Challenge : Official thread

Alright people...I'm sure everyone here knows someone who doesn't fold or knows of a machine that isn't folding. I know we've done all we can to get our machines turned over to the Ape, but if we want to have any chance at this, we need to make a serious push with new folks. I'm going to try my best to get another 4000 PpD online through people I know. If everyone goes out and tries to get 1 more person involved, we'd have this thing wrapped up.
Anything other than 1st place is a complete failure.
 
Oh if it's just about grabbing buddies from other sites, then who cares. Everyone does that - friends, family, friends of the family, favors pulled, whatever. As far as a conspiracy goes, no way.

Well I sure wouldn't say that. I think the contest has gotten some new folks folding, and a lot of boxen that weren't previously running online. Team competition is fun, but the end goal is more effort being made for the project.

It would be nice to be on top, but in the end, everyone wins. :)

 
We are all winners, this friendly competition is comprised of the four top folding teams. Just to be in the competition makes you a winner IMO.

We're not accusing MPC of anything KingFish. I know you guys better than that. Its just the outside guys who are only looking to piss us off and from the looks of it, its working. :D

All's fair in the competition. They chose to fold under the MPC banner for the duration on their own free will. I'm sure we wouldn't stop them either if they offered to fold on our side instead.

So fold on! ;)

LOL, shit.... I guess you can blame me for "recruiting" thread... Considering that forum is comprised of past and PRESENT mods/Super Mods (and members) of this forum, and members there fold for that/this/and other teams DC projects I'd say any finger pointing can point up my butt! :D

Considering I've dropped more WU's than 98% of other members on the 4 tems in play, under various names on each of those 4 teams, I'd say I'm an equal opportunity something.

I have just setup mine too.

100/10000 done lol. should I do anything special in the config? I have ticked the box to allow work assignments greater than 10Mb, should I leave this unticked?

Okay, I just set up my desktop, my girlfriends desktop, my work-from-home desktop, my laptop and my girlfriends laptop. That's 8 processing cores.

I might be able to scrounge a few more.

EDIT: I remoted into my desktop at work and got it going. That's 9.

The funny thing is that he has never seen The Fusilli Jerry so therefore does not understand the whole joke there. Made him a Avatar of that numberplate but since he hates Yanks more than we do, he refuses to use it.

A blast from the past.

Lost a CD2 in the line of [H]ardApe duty today. I believe it was ready to drop a couple of console WUs, too. It just stopped and no reviving. :(

That's what I like to see! 9 new cpus on line. That brings us to a total of 578 active processors for [H]ardApe currently (except for the few that have passed away recently)

/moment of silence to remember the departed

This race is going to come down to just a few new folders as everything is so close. There are about 6 days left and if we can pick up even a few more heavy hitters or casual folders it will make a huge difference in where we place out at the end.
