Bloodborne (Rumor)

I think the rumors have been circulating since April. But I'm salivating at the chance to be unshackled by the 30 FPS chains of oppression.
Playing BB at 60FPS or higher would be so significant - even moreso than Dark Souls at 60FPS - because everything is about SPEED in this game. Everything's moving at blur-speed - the bosses, your movements and reactions, everything is frantic and fast paced.

Bloodborne pc rumors have been around for years now. Take them with a grain of salt until there's reliable info posted, not some random twitter posts. If you follow the twitter thread in the OPs article the person who posted the rumor went on to later say he was just trying to get attention for a charity donation.

I'd love to replay it on PC, while it's a 10/10 masterpiece it still had some frame-pacing and chromatic-aberration issues, both which will easily be fixed on PC by modders.

this x100

It at least makes some level of sense with the PS5 announcement and the team porting the game to both rather than just PC. I'm definitely not holding my breath, but it isn't completely absurd. It sounds like there were some other remakes (like RDR1) that were supposedly also in that PS5 announcement video. Could just be wishful thinking, but they're getting lots of traction. With the impressive animations and speed in Bloodborne, it begs to be at 60 fps or more.

Not that this gives the tweet any more veracity, but that's not what that tweet actually meant. They put out a $100 "bounty" (to be donated to charity) for anyone who could provide him/her with Bloodborne PC/remaster details. Supposedly someone did contact him/her with details. Apparently it's QLoc doing the port, who also did Dark Souls Remastered. Not saying I believe it, just telling you a little bit more about those tweets.

These latest rumors at least have greater credence given Sony is porting Horizon Zero Dawn to PC which various pessimists also argued would never happen.

the HZD PC release is giving these click bait sites more legitimacy because they know people are more likely to believe it now and see that as a sign that every major console exclusive from Last of Us to Uncharted is now coming to PC...I can see Bloodborne and other games coming to PC eventually but as the great Dave Kujan once said- A rumor's not a rumor that doesn't die

The other side to the rumor is that its being remastered for PS5, which gives further credence to the PC release rumor.

Great news; I'll definitely get it for PC. I found the game to be unplayable on the PS4 with the frame rate/pacing issues.

Vulkan? Color me suspicious, just given how FromSoftware has historically been when it comes to PC and the work they had to do just to make the engine work at 60fps.

If the rumors are true the port isn't being done by From.

I’d considered that possibility as well, it still seems a lot of work to add in new API support though.

I shouldn’t act like it’s out of the realm of possibility, and it would be a good thing if it does happen, it just overall strikes me as odd, especially as a bullet point.

With Sony's announcement coming later today, we should have a pretty good idea if these are real or not. If they don't mention anything, the odds of these being real = pretty slim.

Sony's thing today will have nothing to do with this. It is about the PS5 so why would they knee cap the PS5 with PC news.

If there's no mention of a PS5 port (which is the real reason there might be a PC port), the odds of this happening drop by about 90%. I don't expect them to mention anything about a PC port today, just like you say. The odds of them making a 5 year old PS4 exclusive only for PC and not the PS5 is abysmal.

They don’t really need to remake it for PS5 though, if the PS4 game is allowed to take advantage of the PS5 boost mode it’ll probably run just fine with some engine tweaks.

Digital Foundry analysis of a hacked version that allows the game to use PS4pros boost mode (the official version never received any pro enhancements).

In a nutshell the slight boost it gets helps some to maintain 30@1080 but dropping to 720@60 it’s pretty much locked. But the guy doing this had to manually edit a lot of engine settings to make 60fps work, and he checked his work against Dark Souls 3 engine where 60 was the target. So the work is effectively already done the game just needs more horsepower rather than a full remastering.

no Bloodborne PC or Bloodborne 2 announcement during the Sony event (as expected) but we did get official confirmation that a Demon's Souls remake is coming to PS5...

the annual Bloodborne is coming to PC rumor...I played it on PS4 and would love to see it on PC but would prefer to have Demon's Souls on PC (as I never played that)
It's better to just ignore DSOG. I usually just move on whenever I see the source is DSOG.

They were right about Horizon Zero Dawn and Red Dead Redemption 2, despite many here swearing black and blue they would never get ported.

That's the thing when you just spam out rumors, eventually you will get something right. It's the same when people try to defend WCCFTech, sometimes the flood of rumors turns up something that ends up being true.

I suspect some DSOG staff have long standing accounts on quite a few gaming forums which they use to post links to 'news' articles on the site. If you browse around certain popular gaming forums you'll notice certain users occasionally slipping dsog links into conversations, done well enough so you know it's an actual person and not a bot.

For example, if you search one of the users who posted in this very thread, there's hundreds of dsog links (image).

Edit: tbh I don't really mind as the articles they link tend to be 'on-topic' and don't really feel like spam.

I would like to see some examples of them spamming out completely unfounded rumors in the same vein as the bullshit made up by WCCFTech because I don't recall anything particularly blatant which wasn't also reported by "credible" outlets (if such a thing even exists).

Putting aside for a moment that I labelled this thread as a rumor from the outset for a reason, here is a PCgamer article reporting the exact same thing if it makes you and your cohorts feel any better.

I assume this is a strawman dig at me although your link is broken, so I can't be 100% sure. If it is, put up some actual proof that I am shilling/astroturfing, or better yet show me where any of the links are blatantly wrong or spammy. I post DSO links because they are in my daily rotation of websites and often report on things before anyone else.

I don't know how people can stand to play that game at 30fps, I had to put it down after beating the first two bosses. Nothing like low fps jitter jank to frustrate a player.

It feels like these rumors have popped up every 8-9 months for the last several years. People want it to happen so badly that any credibility to the report adds fuel to the fire. I still put the odds of it happening as pretty slim. At least slim for now. Elden Ring is inbound in 7 months.

Yeah, it's a 10/10 masterpiece - I'm sure there are tons of people like me that purchased a PS4 just to play it with no regrets. I'm sure there are tons of PC gamers who can't afford to do so (esp in developing countries where it can be a thousand bucks for a console).

<Rumor>Sony had asked FROM software for assistance in making a PS4Pro patch for Bloodborne and FROM said no we are not interested in doing so.</Rumor> BB never got a PS4Pro patch.
So there is a possibility that Sony would like a PC port but it's actually FROM that are not interested in providing the assistance needed in doing so. Most of the details behind the FROM/Sony contract on that game are private, so we don't even know if Sony has all of the source code available to them, for example to give to a port-specialist like Bluepoint Games.

if you look at your original post from June 2020 in this thread it basically says the same thing as your latest June 2021 DSO article..."trustworthy insider claims Bloodborne is coming to PC"...they (and other sites) post the same thing every few months to drum up interest or use it as click bait

now just because it may come true in another year or 3 doesn't mean that you were right...since you love to say that in the Death Stranding thread for example (when that game was always intended on being released for PC)...it just means that eventually From/Sony may decide to release Bloodborne for PC...I could start a Last of Us 2 PC thread today and just because it may come to PC in 5 years doesn't mean I was right when I created the thread

I would assume they want to keep some right to the game to avoid issues like they had with Demon Souls. Basically Sony owns Demon Souls and From didn't want to continue working for Sony. They wanted full control over their games.

Rumors emanating from different sources....if you find that offensive then feel free not to read or post in what is clearly a "rumor" thread.

now just because it may come true in another year or 3 doesn't mean that you were right...
Instead it means there was an actual basis for the rumors. And I am not claiming to be right, simply posting what is being reported. But you you know what I was right about? Anthem being a dumpster fire pile of shit that will never get fixed.

...since you love to say that in the Death Stranding thread for example (when that game was always intended on being released for PC)...

I know you have a habit of making up bullshit, but here is what I actually said in the Death Stranding thread:

It was widely reported before its reveal that the game would see a release on PC following the PS4 version.

I could start a Last of Us 2 PC thread today and just because it may come to PC in 5 years doesn't mean I was right when I created the thread

Congrats, go do it....I doubt anyone would really give a shit if you did.

Sony owns both Demon Souls and Bloodborne. We almost certainly going to see them on the PC. We might however see a Demon Souls 2 and a Bloodborne 2 on the PS5. Sony has also been buying up stakes in the parent company of From Software (among other Japanese developers) so if anything we are likely to see more Sony exclusives through From Software than less.
